ShellysBear

Hello everyone, my name is Joshua and I came across this place while in a search to potentially identify my fiancé's childhood teddy bear and lifelong pal. I think I've successfully attached a picture to this post of the teddy itself that she has simply named "Bear".  bear_original Bear has gotten my fiancé, Michelle, through all of the tough times in her life and the wear and tear on him has taken its toll. She would love, love, lovvvve to find a bear like this one, whether new or used, or at least find out any information that may help find a manufacturer. The tags are no longer legible.

Her mother bought the bear for her about 24 years ago somewhere in Minnesota. He has green feet/shoes, a red torso with a belly pouch, red paws with blue, yellow, and green flowers printed upon them, and red on the front of the ears. The back of the ears as well as the paws are a tan color just like his head, arms, and legs. He has two hard black eyes and once upon a time had a hard black nose. The mouth is gone as well but was originally sewed on as black thread in the shape of a smile.

The bear originally had two tags, one was coming off the pouch on the bear's lefthand side, between his arm and leg. It was white and the only thing still visible on it are the letters "AND" on the back of the tag, close to where the tag attaches to the bear itself.

The other tag was red and stuck straight up from the top of the bear's head, without any writing ever being present on it. Michelle referred to it as a ribbon more than a tag. Due to pet dogs and the wash machine, the poor teddy is in rough shape. Bear is roughly 16 inches tall and 8 inches wide, he originally was larger due to more stuffing than he has now.

Any help identifying this bear would be SO helpful and we would be SO appreciative. Thank you in advance!  bear_original
