While we are waiting for my film rolls to be developed I was able to take a digital picture of the amazing little bear that sweet Daphne gave me in exchange for Kilian. I really didn't mean for that to happen, but how do you give a bear to a bear artist without prompting a return gift? It turned into a swap then and I am soooo very very happy to have him. I named him Pete since he didn't have a name. Daphne, is that ok with you? He told me his name right after we parted, the little rascal  I also got a copy of the current TB & F with the article on TT. I wouldn't have had an opportunity of buying it myself and it was such a thoughtful gift. Thank you again Daphne!  :hug:

Hi everybody!
I'm home and I see Daphne posted her pic. I didn't bring my little digital camera, but my larger SLR. The disadvantage of that is that I have film rolls, which are just now at the lab to be developed. I'm having them put on CD too, so in about 4-5 days I will be able to post the pics I took (press thumbs they turned out ok). I'll start a thread for part 2 then. It was really wonderful meeting Daphne, who is the kindest person imaginable. Tell you more in a few days with pics.

I too thought I could have only a personal account and accept payments from paypal funds for the rare sales I make. Problem was that the customers had no idea what I meant when I stated that they needed to pay from their balance instead of a credit card. Most buyers never sell and just assume that they can pay with their cc through paypal. I suppose they don't have money in their paypal account and not all countries seem to be able to do bank transfers to paypal. The fees are annoying, but you can work them into your price and s+h. On ebay you can't refuse cc payments and you can't say that you charge for the fees, but you can take a handling fee from everyone, no matter how they pay.

From a buyer's point of view I want to be able to pay from my cc, but I often do pay from my balance to reduce the number of times my card data get send over the internet. I also avoid sellers with high fees....

Hmm, the felt I got is as thick as my ultrasuede. Maybe you can try to pull it between your fingers and see if it comes apart? Good felt won't stretch I think. You can of course always back it with some interfacing of your choice. The thickest may be Timtex (bonded with iron-on fusible web) or fast-2-fuse, but any interfacing should work.

Penny, Sweden has bears, wolves, lynx, and wolverines. Just in case you need to disappear a certain uhm ............ evidence :twisted:  :twisted:

Hi everybody,

I am on holiday and just returned home from a week in the south of Sweden and thought since you all like pictures so much, you might enjoy these. They are from national parks and nature reserves in the southern most part of Sweden. We actually stayed in a cottage just a few hundred yards from the southernmost tip of the country. We took a swim in the sea (Baltic) every evening and had loads of delicious ice cream.

Hope you like the pics. The trees are mostly beech, some oak and a few others.

Ah, Dilu, in true TT spirit, the t-shirt is subjected to testing.  :crackup: I received mine today, faster than expected, and will wash it tomorrow. I'll use the line though, not the drier as I never put any of my cotton in the dryer. But then our drier has only hot and really hot or tumble without any heating.

Oh Daphne, you got hummingbirds? To me that is about as exotic as it gets. Beautiful house, adorable dog. Having wildlife visit during breakfast would be my dream of living. Instead I'm in a 14 story appartment building in the middle of town, arrgh.

just some thoughts from my ebay experience. When I know the shipping cost with buy it now I pay immediately. It makes me a super buyer and has gotten me tons of excellent feedback for speedy payment. Many sellers don't even send invoices with buy it now, some not even with regular auctions. I often have to request the total. I do that in any case if I only got a quote on shipping costs, as most people get it wrong, usually too much, and few are as honest as you Kim and refund shipping costs. Then there are the auctions which send automatic invoices with domestic postage, while I always buy international (no sellers here in Sweden). There may or may not be following a second invoice with international shipping costs. So I never know how long to wait for the correct invoice anyway and either pay immediately or email asking for the total.

Another swap has been completed!  :dance: :dance:  :dance:  Today I received my sweet little April from Jane of MoBear. She is a delicate girl in antique rose matted mohair with Brazilian embroidery on her left foot, pink eyes and pink satin roses in her ears. She looks a little lost, perhaps because most of my other bears are boys. she need not worry as there is grandma bear and lady Daisy to take her under their wings.
April brought with her a Canadian flag and a glittery red maple leaf garland. My apologees for the pics. It is rainy today, but I wanted to show her off immediately.

And just in case you missed him, here is Toby, the bear I sent to Jane.

Both are about 10 inch tall standing.

This was my third TT swap and it is fun to see all the different styles in my hug.

In Germany we call them May beetles. They are bringers of luck, which is why there are chocolate May bugs in wrappers printed like a real bug. They are rare nowadays and symbolize better times with less intense agriculture and less pesticides. So they are actually viewed in a positive way, but then we never had such numbers during my life-time, if ever. I remember an invasion of ladybugs in the 1970ies. We stepped on them everywhere, brrr. In small numbers I find those cute.
