Hi Kerren,
you are absolutely right to be cautious. I don't have any experience with taking credit card payment other than through paypal, but can't you explain to her that your bank requires her postal address, not a PO box? If she is genuine she should understand and give it to you. However, as a shipping address I'm not sure what you should require, because on another thread Renae just said that she has all her mail delivered to a box at the post office, because its safer for her (the animals seem to eat the packages otherwise  , hope you don't mind me Renae) and maybe your customer has similar problems. What if you require her to pay for registered mail with delivery confirmation? Or perhaps you can ship to her work address? Hope this works out well for you.
Hi Sarah Jane,
if you go to the top of this thread and choose eyes/eyelids from the drop down menu next to the word library you may find some information in previous threads on this topic. I remember a variety of ways to make eyelids.
My problem with leather cord eyelids and glue is that I can't get them to go deep into the head. As soon as I stick them into the hole with glue on the end of the cord they get stuck there, at the surface. Can't pull them in further, weird. Perhaps I can put the glue deep inside the hole somehow.
Charlotte, did you post pics of Hare the hipster anywhere? i can't find him and would so much love to see him.
Jane (MoBeary) and I have shipped our bears and are now waiting nervously for them to arrive. I'm especially nervous since my bear has steel bbs in his feet
Sandi, I have done three swaps and they are great fun. Someone offers to organize the swap, people sign up before a deadline, names are drawn from a hat and then its up to the respective partners to workt out the details. I have found everybody to be very lovely and easy to make arrangements with. Perhaps, we'll do an autumn swap or at least a Christmas swap. Hmmm, I thought I would take a break after this one, but a Christmas swap would be tempting. Best present I can think of.
Awww Debbie, I love these horse stories! Thanks for the update. Interesting color pattern on Lady Bear. Have fun with them and keep the pics and stories coming, please.
Daphne, I thought at first 'oh great, Daph's dad is gettlng better', then I read on and it isn't all good yet. I keep my fingers and toes crossed that he will be well soon.
On the bright side, that director's chair is cool and your spirits seem to have lifted a bit.
Another hilarous thread, just what I needed. I can't contribute anything out of the ordinary as we get the average assortment of sp.....rs and bugs. I hate arachnids and am not too fond of the rest, except lady bugs of course. I highly doubt that we all eat spiders unknowingly though, being a scientist in biology myself and having never heard of that. I guess it depends on your personal food hygiene.
Lisa- sorry to see you leave. That vegemite thread was great fun indeed  Come back when time allows. I bet you can't stay away for long, you'll miss us too much.
Awwww, wonderful bear! Lucky you Laurie and well done Tami.  The third swap seems to become a success as well, yipee
I hope everything goes well and Daphne's dad will be well soon. Thanks Henry and take good care of Daphne.
Awww, great job Tami. What a cute bear!
Paula, I completely understand your feeling and I would feel the same if it happened to me. However, if we think of bears as art then we have to accept that they will be handled as other art is also. Some people buy art as an investment and they may resell at much higher prices than what the artist got. I have no knowledge of the art world, but I imagine this kind of thing raises the value of an artist's work and it may actually be good for you as you yourself should be able to get higher prices. Wait and see if anyone actually buys the bear for that higher price and then think about raising your prices. I know, its kind of against our ideals, but you make bears for profit, don't you? You should be proud that your bears are so desirable that they are turning into investments. Hope you feel better!
Yikes! That must have hurt bad Kassie! So glad it didnt end worse. Crunching sounds like it broke, oh dear, sure hope your finger gets as good as new. I want pics of the foal too, please.
Awww, I'm drooling here, slobbering all over my keyboard. Sophie what are you making me do
Now be honest Sophie, did you buy a bear? It would be hard not to, but the choices, oh the choices.
Hi Penny, does that mean I have to give George back to you?
Aww, I can only agree with everybody. He's a wonderful cute little guy. Love him
I know that at my hubby's work... the owner/boss reads all the emails that everyone gets and sends....
Well, either its a very small company or that boss has absolutely nothing valuable to do  , because reading all those emails must take all day. It would at the place I work with 240 people. Thank goodness its forbidden by law anyway (here in Sweden).
Hi Claudia,
he is lovely. I wouldn't have guessed he is your first crochet bear.
You can joint the head to the body with a small cotter pin and discs, the arms and legs are usually thread jointed in crochet bears. There are lots of patterns you can buy and those artists have a lot of great tips to share. Email me for sources or go to ebay and search for crochet bear patterns. We have also discussed crochet bears in the miniatures forum and there are yahoo groups just for crochet bears with lots of great artists, classes and free patterns.
Oh Jennie, cancer is my biggest fear. I hope, your mother will get better and has many more years to come and I hope, your father's lump can be removed without further complications.

Oh Sophie, don't feel bad. If you failed then this wasn't meant for you. You wouldn't have been happy with that job. You are on the right track though. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I have finished my bear, just need to take some pics and make his certificate. I'll hang on to him for a few more days, because its so hard to let go of my babies, but he will soon be travelling to Canada.
Oh what a gorgeous dress on that sweet golly girl! It's been a while since we saw one of your cuties Dilu. Must mean you are on the mend. Fabulous!
My name is one of the most common in my age group ('60s) in Germany, but here I haven't seen another Sabine. Not among the frequent talkers anyway. From constantly getting confused with others (sometimes with the equally common Susannes too  ) I am now almost unique
Woohoo Daphne, congratulations. You must feel so relieved and free. Those bunnies seamed like a lead ball on a chain dragging you down to the bottom of the lake Now you are back at the surface and I am sure the creative juices will start flowing again.
Have fun Sophie! I envy you Give us all the details afterwards, please.
Melissa I'm so sorry and I know how you feel. My mom had breast cancer when she was 38 years old (I was 15). She lost a breast, but is still with us at 67. There is hope!
Never heard of it before Jane, but right back at you.
