If you follow along in no time you can have a simple page up.
Good info guys!
Mindy, thank you for all that wonderful info. It's nice to hear it from an editors perspective.
Jennifer, I got lucky. I've just been too lazy to submit my photos anywhere, but I happened to just get 'discovered' for a high class local magazine. I'm very excited and I'm sure once I see my bears in print as some of you put it, I'll be submitting everywhere!
She is soo lucky!
You did a great job with the wings. I love the ears and the tiny nose.
Oh Jodi, that is soo sad. Sometimes a house can hold so many memories for us.
I don't know what else to say......I'm glad you have kept a few items and my heart is with you.
IT'S BEEN A YEAR!!!!!!!!!! oh my. If feels like just yesterday I was reading about you being all excited to have a baby. Oh my!
What a cutie, congrats. Hope your foot heals, I would like to see more bears from you soon.
thank you soo much guys! It really helps to get all your opinions.
I think I'm going to send #1, 2 and 4. Sneak in a third picture lol
I promise to share the details, thanks for your support.
Urgh, don't ask me! LOL
Although I have to say they are super cute and creative and for sure you will sell out no matter what you price them as.
Urgh, I am soo slow at bearmaking! I must get so distracted but if I work on a bear almost everyday afterwork and at least one good day on the weekends, a bear will take me a month to make. It takes me a whole session just to stuff the head!
I wish I was faster so I could make more
I’ll admit it, I’m the most indecisive person in the world! LOL
I am having an article written about me, my bears and the bear show in our city’s Opulence magazine. I’m very excited. Problem is, I’m to send 2 photos of my favorite bears. One of them will be picked to put in the magazine.
Since I don’t make many bears, and my photos aren’t great I just can’t choose. Which one is your favorite……..or should I go back with the camera and take different pics? I want to show my bears which are a little different, but I don’t want to scare new collectors away either.
Keep in mind they will modified, so my backgrounds or shadows don’t matter in this case……..PHEW!
I promise, no hard feelings.......
So #1
#2
#3
#4
yeah, I would just ask Michelle. Maybe it's something that took her a long time to figure out and she doesn't want to share.
Your best bet would be to experiment yourself and see what techniques you can come up with.
I LOVE THIS BEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish! I picture the big dog to be my boss and I'm telling him just what I think...........
ahhhh, it would feel SOO good!
That's soo cool! You've done a really job with the liner and everything
Okay, so I hate to tell you this, but I'm coming there to live with you now. Sorry! LOL
You are sooooooo lucky!
Wow, that's great Louise. It's wonderful that he is able to share his knowledge with others now.
I know you can sell those extra bears you need no problem!
I understand all that, but when you use the "scheduled listing", surely it should go on at the time it is scheduled for? If not, then they shouldn't be offering it.
.
I agree Jane, I think it's very unfair that they offer the serve but fail to deliver. And sure 10c is cheap but if thousands are using it a day, that really adds up.
great job! Thanks for the pics. Amazing though that it takes 3 hrs for such little footage, but cool though
OH Daph, you're not going to get a good answer from me! I'm also a sweats kinda person.
I think mostly your top half would be showing. I would do black pants and a nice shirt with some sort of color that maybe brings out your eyes. I've seen pics of you in a turtle neck and think that look suits you.
I would be stressed too! It's rought they are coming to your house. Good luck
awesome! My favorite is the 1st one.
I like mine heavy.
I guess the reason I like to weigh them so much is I love the reaction when someone who has never seen an artist bear before picks up one of my teddies and they ALWAYS comment on the weight. It's at that point they seem to understand it's just not a regular teddy bear.
As a collector I don't think I would care so much, but that's the nice thing about going to a bear show because you can really pick them up and feel them. Tough to tell when buying off the internet.
Melissa, thank you!
Ok, so I think I get it. Blogs are more personal, maybe even updated everyday and people can leave comments.
So where is your blog? It's not a web address? I'm confused on that. I can see your point that websites are static and my blog interest has grown but couldn't I just still write my own HTML and call it a blog? Would people know the difference? I could code it so people can leave comments etc. but again I guess my blog would have a web address linked to my website.
Thanks for being patient and explaining this to me, some things just take a while for my brain to grab a hold of.
that's a tough one. I personally feel as a seller once the buyer pays they have done their part and I leave feedback. I have to admit I don't like it when a seller won't leave me feedback until I leave it for them. I feel then they are only leaving me feedback not because I paid quickly etc, but because I left it for them. I think it makes for a corrupt feedback system.
That being said, you also have to protect yourself at the same time. No easy answer I suppose.
I have a question.
Is a blog only for those who don't want to bother with HTML or is there another reason. For me, it would be just as easy to make a webpage and just update it when I want.......but that sounds too easy so I must be missing something for sure.
Oh my! I am dying to see a picture!
Guess this is art that isn't around for too long. Weird though.........
