Beautiful bear Sue Ann. Looks like a brother of your avatar. I know what you mean with the head not getting big enough. I make crochet animes and its a common problem that our hands and eyes automatically adjust the proportions so that it turns out a traditional bear, darn it.  bear_laugh Its hard to make anime critters.

Another great platypus! You are on a roll  bear_smile I love him.  bear_wub

Dilu, get well soon. Hope it doesn't hurt too much and you are having fun with those gorgeous coloured fabrics you bought.

Thank you very much Louise

Hi Lisa, I know that the bible is interesting read, just haven't done it much. I guess I must have read some parts in school, but that's a long time ago.

Sharks are scary, yes. Intellectually I know that most species are harmless and chances of being attacked are small, but I would be careful where to swim too if I lived in a country with sharks. I would be afraid of your snakes and spiders too, although I know they are not a great threat.   bear_ermm    bear_original

Hi Sabine,That's where the expression came from, it's in the Christian bible of 'Job' and another area where God explains that he knew us before we were in the womb etc...then mentions about skin on our teeth (i may have taken literal?) will find out....i'll have to get my husband to find it..as i'm currently not on talkie terms with the Boss upstairs, his not too happy with me bear_sad

Also biologists use a descriptive phrase, dermal denticles (literally, "tiny skin teeth")

Hi Lisa, I am an atheist so have no idea what the bible says. Makes sense that its an expression for something non-existent.

Just another small tidbit of information (can't help myself   bear_rolleyes  ): sharks have skin teeth, i.e. their skin feels like sandpaper, because there are tiny teeth (dermal denticles) on it. I'm sure glad, we don't have that.  bear_tongue

Eileen, I second that. Major creepy!  bear_shocked

Clare - I know what you mean. I often feel the same (me a bear artist? bear_rolleyes ), but you should give yourself some credit. Your bears are wonderful, professional and you're as much a bear artist as any of us.

Acipenser

Too funny!  bear_laugh Great ideas!

Thanks Jenny. I really love that look!!

Acipenser

Lovely as all your bears. How do you get the fur on the sides of the head to be so pointy? Is it just combing or does it stay that way?

Acipenser

Debbie I love horses and your's looks very sweet and pretty. I can't help wondering how expensive it must be to ship a horse all across the globe like that. Must be a really special horse.

As a biologist I can't let this stand. Dragonflies live a lot longer than 24 hours. Even when you consider only the adult stage (which is really the shortest part of its life) most dragonflies live for weeks or even months. Mayflies live about one day as adults, but they too have a much longer larval stage. Here's a link if you are interested in more details http://www.dragonflysoc.org.uk/frameset.htm?faq&faq

Lisa, where did you get that 'skin over our teeth'? Its an expression but hardly a fact.

Well, I have found another bear artist in my own country (Jennie), who I didn't know about. See, I'm not the only one in Sweden (there is Jossan too, but i met her on E classroom).
And of course I had some nice chats with Matilda and Sophie with whom I swapped bears. Oh, and through TT I got a nice customer, who adopted one of my bears. Then of course I feel connected with lots of you, who I would never have 'met' without TT.

Those bears are really cute Judi!

Acipenser

Love them both, but the green one looks like he needs a hug.

dudleysitside.jpgOne of my older patterns seems to be popular with many people. So I made another one for a customer, improved the pattern a little and out came Dudley. He is on his way to California, but I thought you all might like to see him. He is about 4 inches high from his bottom to the top of his head, has bent legs and arms. I call these bears my bookshelf bears, because I designed the pattern when i ran out of space to place my bears and wanted one that can sit in front of my books, dangling his legs. He can, aided by BBs in his butt, but don't touch him or his balance will be off  bear_tongue

Really cute Edie. I would need a train like that and a bear for my brother and my father, both very interested in trains. Another thing to hunt for  bear_tongue

Acipenser

Wow, so many details on the platy and her coat. Lucky you Sophie and welle done Matilda.

Hi Denise,

my name is Sabine (its at the end under the line). There must be other programs which don't ask for your password online. I use Mac so have different programs, but mine is free and of course I have to enter my password into it, but that's just in my computer.

Hugs

Aren't we a beautiful group? bear_tongue     Thank you Jane! Fun idea.

I'm addicted to collecting patterns, so I look for free patterns for crochet, knitting, embroidery and yes, bears, all the time. Hardly ever use any of them, but its fun nevertheless. There are lots of websites. Holler if you want some links.
Why not check out TT members websites if you've got time to spare? I don't do that often enough, but there are some real treasures.

I wouldn't want to give my ebay user name & password to anyone...think I'll stick with the old way...bid & pray!!!

??????????
Denise, a sniping program is a software like any other program. You install it on your computer and run it. Nobody is getting to know your ebay user name & password.

Acipenser

Dilu, I just use a sniping program that bids for me as many (or few) seconds before auction end as I like. No excitement if i don't want to and sometimes I win, sometimes I don't.
Oh, btw, try sniping auctions where the high bidder has low feedback. If you are lucky its a rooky who doesn't know about sniping yet. There can always be another lurker though, sniping over you. bear_tongue

I haven't made a fabric anime yet, but to give you a general idea, here are some of my crocheted animes (again) sporting two different head shapes.
