now that's a great challenge theme (as I planned to do a realistic bear some months ago) - only that I absolutely have no time! bear_sad  bear_sad

Fallenrose

Hi Bobbie,

great necklace, I love it!

Funny thing, I've seen the viking knitting technique yesterday for the first time in my life  and was absolutely thrilled, but the lady making necklaces of it had no time to show it to me and didn't know the proper name of it... Spend half an hour to find it online!
Now I wanna learn it!

Fallenrose

very sweet, I like her very much - and I think she's absolutely needing a nose and a big smile^^

Fallenrose

wubbie, there isn't any link here...

Some little problems with my swap partner, we're still in the way of determining what the other one would like (as she was on holiday and couldn't answer my mail) - don't want to make a green bear and in the end she doesn't like green, for example..

Fallenrose

Hey ladies,

thanks for your comments - I'm glad you like him!
Yeah, he absolutely looks like a mixture of a bear and of a monkey, but it's kinda cute I think - makes me think I should create a monkey!

Lovely! I adore the face

Thanks, I'm glad you like him^^

upload5.jpgupload4.jpgOkay so this is the newest one...

First of all: he isn't from one of my patterns, he was made after a pattern from Petra Zulauf (PeSch-Bären)  that is called "kleiner Schelm" - I fell in love at first sight when I saw this pattern and had to make me one for myself! And I wanted to try how a bear with a tail would look like

In fact, I started working on him last year already, in my holidays... so actually he is finished since last july. But at that time I ran out of joints so thread jointed his head - very bad idea! His head fell off and poor little Fellow sat on my shelf for almost a year now, his head in his lap  bear_sad  Yeah...I just hadn't the time *cough*
So today I thought: he needs to be finished now! And took my joints, opened him up again and put his head back in place again!

Here he is now, my sweet, 11,5cm big "Little Fellow". I absolutely love him, I'm so happy about how he turned out. I made him of a gorgeous darkbrown micro plush (from Sassy Bears) and used the backing for his muzzle, ears and footpads. He was my first bear with an inset muzzle and I love the result - although it was hard to put together the head
What I like most about him is his facial expression - first time using feltwhites under the eyes and he just seems to say "Take me up and give me a hug, mommy!" - and I love the different colors of his green nose! lol

Hugs, Ariane

PS: As always...excuse the bad photos...  bear_sad

upload6.jpgOkay, now a critter that was born in November I think.

I wanted to try and make a bunny, but the pattern isn't perfect yet: The head is too round for a bunny. But I like the feet and the ears bear_happy  Plus, I had forgotten that I was working with a fabric with a stretchy back - soo the head became much bigger than I had thought and suddenly the body seemed too short. Well, in fact the body could have been bigger, but I think it's okay like that....
Little bunny is about 16cm tall - and I love those floppy ears! I embellished him with a "necklace" I took from a chocolate-bunny lol I also trimmed the hair on his muzzle to make it look more like a bunny - the puffy cheeks were done by using needle-sculpting and I'm quite happy with the result as I love puffy cheeks! (but you can't really see them on this photo..  bear_sad I just couldn't take any better pics of him...)

One thing I'm not happy about are his eyes. I don't know why but they look kinda strange...

Nevertheless, I love him!

Hugs, Ariane

upload2.jpgHey again,

these are two older bears as well, dating from the beginning of last year. I tried my hands at crocheting bears and these two are the outcome. You are able to see the stitches, but I couldn't get the hang of fuzzy yarn (how do you crochet when you can't see your stitches?  bear_grin ) - and I liked this colorful yarn very much. The clothes were made by me as well. I believe that such clothes are better for bigger bears - as Julien for example can't sit with his trousers  They're both 15cm tall
At that time, I hadn't any glasseyes at home - and thus used some glassbeads I had as eyes. I think they look quite unusual, but I do prefer glasseyes!

Hope you like them!

Hugs, Ariane

PS: Sorry for the crappy pic!

Fallenrose

upload3.jpgupload1.jpgHey there,

I thought I'd upload some of my other bears as well^^

please meet Mocca the little Panda. He was made from the same Pattern as my Viking bear, you could call him a prototype. I made him out of Fleece because I wanted to know how the pattern would look like. He's 18cm tall, button jointed and has black glasseyes. I really like him cause he's very cuddly!

Hugs, Ariane

PS: Please excuse my crappy pictures.. I can't seem to get them better  bear_cry

Fallenrose

Very aodrable, I love his feet (although they seem to be of different lengths - or is it the angle of the picture?)

Ariane

Fallenrose

Ali, good idea - hadn't thought about this one.
I just sent her an email^^

Edit:
ah, she replied to me - she was on holiday lol

Fallenrose

I haven't heard anything from my swap partner for two weeks now... bear_cry
Sent her a pm last week to ask if she got my last one, but nothing came back.....
Any idea what I should do know?

Ariane

Fallenrose

Thanks for your answers!

Geralye: That's exactly what I wanna do, I just sort of had forgotten the name yesterday
So, basically i'm doing a "double neck joint" at my bear's arms and legs!

Amber: I'm not sure if I got your explanation right, but I'll try it out^^

Lenora: I'llsee if I can find this book somewhere, thanks^^

Fallenrose

Never mind the spelling mistake

I'm glad you like him, he was a lot of work

Sooo, whenever you've the time and feel like doing so, I'd be happy to make a swap with yo! bear_laugh

Ariane

Fallenrose

because I need to insert two more joints at the elbow (and another one at the wrist) - and I've tried it with an Arm where the lower part is curved, doesn't look good at all^^

Fallenrose

Hi there!
My boyfriends wants me to create a special bear for him (with special joints like elbows and knees) - and I figured out that this bears requires straight arms and legs.
Well, I'm absolutely fine with designing straight legs - but I can't seem to figure out how to do the straight arms so that they look good....?! I mean, I can do curved arms and also bent ones - but absolutely straight ones without any curve are...a real problem for me!

Could anybody help me?

Big hugs, Ariane

Fallenrose

Wow, Heidi, he looks huge compared to the little one! (but I like the little one very much, too). I think you're right, some techniques can be done easier when you make them on larger bears than on smaller ones.

By the way... if you'd like to do a swap one day.. I'd be pleased to do one with you!

Big Hugs, Ariane

Fallenrose

wow, you're really fast Andrea!

I haven't heard anything new from my partner since last week bear_sad

Fallenrose

I especially loe Hans. Just one question - how tall are they?

Big hugs, Ariane

Fallenrose

By the way...is there  website where I can see all winners of the Golden George? I couldn't find any yesterday?!

Fallenrose

Maybe there is someone nearby you that could assisst you?
