In answer to the many PMs and regular emails we have received-----the height of Beverly Matteson Port's Ornament  ( sent to ScaliWagGrrs) is approximately 6-7 inches tall--- ---including the antique Santa boot she is in, and the antique leaf and bead decorations behind her. Thank you so much for your interest.           And yes, she is still creating bears and dolls.

Beverly Matteson Port   began  Creating  teddy bears  (in 1950).    She was the  First  to make  Fashion Model Bears,   with long slender bodies,

dressed in "Couture",   featured in "Teddy's Bearzaar" Magazine.   She has won Many awards for her dolls and bears.      She began  Writing in Doll

and Collector's Magazines  (1970s)   about Teddy Bears-----when there were  NO  Teddy Bear Artists-----and  NO Teddy Bear Magazines !!

Her 14- CATAGORY outline for a  Teddy Bear Column in Doll Reader magazine (1982)  was  taken, and used, as the groundwork,  to  Begin the

"Teddy Bear and Friends Magazine" In 1983.        She was Contributing Editor at TB&Friends for years.     Both magazines by Hobby House Press.

-----also,   as Contributing Editor,  wrote  "Bear World"   for Krause Publication's  "Collector's Magazine'',  and numerous articles for the

"TEDDY TODAY MAGAZINE UNTIL 2005.     Copyrighted MONTHLY columns were   "Theodore B. Bear Says",    " Let's Talk Teddy Bears'',  and     

"Miss Emily's Epicurean Teddy'',  "Little HUGS",    AND MANY OTHERS.  She drew Covers for TEDDY TODAY---Bears, cats, dogs.

As well as  hundreds of Articles  for Other magazines,   including;   "Teddy Bear Review",    ENGLAND'S   "Teddy Bear Scene",    "UFDC

International Doll News",  etc., etc.      She has judged many doll and bear competitions,  including the  TOBYS and the  GOLDEN TEDDY...She has

taught  classes,   and talked  "Teddy Bear"   in many slide programs all over THE WORLD, AND WAS THE FIRST TO EVALUATE ANTIQUE TEDDIES.

to help Collectors;   for when she began collecting antiques, Teddies were being Thrown Away !!!    Beverly has been called the

Heart and Soul " of the Artist Teddy Bear,  and  "The Keeper of Memories."    One person CAN make a difference !!!!!     SO, KEEP ON TALKING
