A Bit about the TBAAF Awards
The TBAAF Awards are free to enter...
The awards were originally designed taking into account research and TBAAF member requests...
It has proved itself to be a very successful competition...
There are 24 categories and all categories have been filled we have no redundant empty categories...
You can vote over a two month period so you dont have to spend ages voting, do for fun one category at a time in your spare time...
We move along with member requests and make changes as we see fit every year...
The teddy bear category which has been extremely successful with over 80 entrys this year, is being deleted next year, it has been replaced next year with traditional bear, contempory bear, vintage bear and dressed bear....

How to vote
You do not have to be a TBAAF member to vote the pages are open to the public just click on the TBAAF website tabs to enter each category...
Because of the awards successful size, we do recommend a pencil and pen, or print off the free voting sheet, to keep note of your chosen winners...
Each catagory has its own scroll down page, you will find a voting box at the bottom of each category, this is accessable by a click.
To vote you simply press the button of your chosen winners name and then press vote...

Good News - Teddy Bear Artist and Freinds are moving forward
The TBAAF SITE has become very successful and now grown to large proportions... We currently use a web design and hosting company for TBAAF... We can report we have personally become very disilutioned with its limits and the service we are receiving, the site and editing suite have had numerous glitches, and unfortunately these have been out of our control. And some of the probelms have been ongoing for months without being resolved in a reasonable timescale... So with the fact that TBAAF is worth the effort, we have now decided to self build and programme our own new Teddy Bear Artist and Freinds website... We estimate this will take the best part of this year to complete maybe a little longer... We will let you all know when the new site is available...
Darren has already completed the self rebuild of Mohair Bear Making Supplies... This new site was launched this week... I think its fantastic and am so proud of his achievement... I know any constructive feedback will be welcome :hug:

The online TBAAF awards are open to all TBAAF members...
Why four seasons? The awards are designed to promote excellence continually throughout the year. As artists we continually strive to grow and improve our skills, and now all members will have the chance to show their skills to the full four times a year with the changing of the seasons... The competitions will change yearly so they will always encourage this aim...
Why no fees? When we decided to create this site for all Teddy bear and Doll lovers we chose to create it with no enforced membership fee or competition fees. We hope this will encourage everyone to take part in creating a friendly non elitist group, that would be accessible for everyone, we cater for beginner bear makers to top bear artists in all our competitions, anyone can win...
All entries will bear the name of the entry only... All artist names will be anonymous... This will make the competition fairer for all... The voting will then be done on the appealing nature of the entries alone...

'Cloud' is one of my exclusive OOAK traditional vintage Victorian Style Mohair Bears.
He is approx 9-10" tall from the bottom of his footpads to tips of his ears. He weighs a heavy approx 600g.
'Cloud' is a totally unique bear 'OOAK' he also comes from a clean smoke free home.
'Cloud' has been made with intricate details and antiqued to acquire a authentic old fashioned vintage Victorian look. I have of course as always used my own contemporary artistic techniques to bring out his very special character...
'Cloud' is made from Blue tipped Ivory curly luxury mohair fabric. He has matching paw pads and inner ears.
'Cloud' has been stuffed with heavy weight stuffing and has been very heavily weighted but he still has that squidgy tummy feel we all love for hugging. I have also used clever scissor and needle sculpting to create a pleasing character and good proportions.
This precious Bear has traditional German hand blown matte glass shoe-button eyes and he is also traditionally four way cotter-pin jointed, with a wobble jointed head.
He has one of my tush tags inserted, He also comes with a hang tag with his name, DOB and my hand signed signature.
To dress him I have dressed him with a Ivory cotton neck tie. I have also hand embroidered a matching red heart on his torso.

I'm so pleased with the way Thomas has turned out. I just love how the mohair fabric has lended itself to his elegant vintage Victorian good looks. I have of course as always used my own contemporary artistic techniques to bring out this Victorian vintage Character in Thomas.
'Thomas' is made a luxury antique gold mohair with a dense string pile pile. He has matching paw pads and inner ears.
'Thomas' has been stuffed with heavy weight stuffing and has been very heavily weighted but he still has that squidgy tummy feel we all love for hugging. I have also used clever scissor and needle sculpting to create a pleasing character and good proportions.
Using my own original artistic shading and embroidery techniques have given 'Thomas' his very own unique meticulously detailed delightful, vintage scruffy aged character. He looks well aged and vintage Victorian although he is brand new.

I'm so pleased with the way Faye has turned out. I just love how the two toning pieces of gentle pastel mohair fabric have given Faye her elegant vintage Victorian Panda good looks. I have of course as always used my own contemporary artistic techniques to bring out the Victorian vintage Character in Faye.
'Faye' is made from two luxury mohairs one pale powder pink hand-dyed mohair fabric with a semi sparse crushed pile, and one ivory sparce pile. She has matching paw pads and inner ears.
'Faye' has been stuffed with heavy weight stuffing and has been very heavily weighted but she still has that squidgy tummy feel we all love for hugging. I have also used clever scissor and needle sculpting to create a pleasing character and good proportions.

'Theodore' who is a Traditional extra large growling vintage Style OOAK Mohair Bear approx 28-30" tall from the bottom of his footpads to tips of his ears. He weighs approx 9lbs,approx 4.4kg.
Theodore is very special a real showcase bear. I don't often produce traditional bears in this very extra large size, but this beautiful feather soft dense crushed ivory fabric is just perfect for making into a large bear. I have of course used my own contemporary artistic techniques to bring out the beauty in vintage style Theodore. He is truly a most handsome bear.
Theodore is made from luxury high quality hand tinted ivory Crushed pile faux Fur fabric. He has high quality heavy weight ivory Ultrasuede paw pads and inner ears. He has been stuffed with heavy weight filling and has been heavily weighted he is a real extra large hug.
I have extensively scissor and needle sculpted Theodore to create a pleasing character and good proportions. My own original artistic shading and embroidery techniques have helped give Theodore his own unique vintage aged character. He looks aged and vintage although he is brand new.
Awwww don't you just want to pick him up and cuddle him :0)
This precious Bear has traditional black German glass eyes and he is also firmly traditionally five way jointed. I have hand made Theodore his floppy bow tie, which only makes him look more handsome don't you think?

Blossom is very first of my brand new Teddy Bear designs for 2010.
Blossom is made from a very luxurious long Ivory colored faux fur, she has matching paw pads and inner ears. She is also a very large OOAK bear being approx 22" tall weighing approx 1700g.
Blossom is stuffed well with a mixture of poly and cotton fiber, and she has also been heavily weighted. I have extensively scissor and needle sculpted blossom to create pleasing and unique proportions. If you look carefully you can see I have used my own special artistic airbrushing, shading and embroidery techniques to create her special unique character. Just look at her adorable and beautiful face.
Blossom has traditional German dark amber glass eyes. Blossom is also six way jointed having a double neck joint, this means she has extra cute pose ability... Blossoms nose hands and feet have also been extensively hand embroidered.
To finish Blossom is wearing a beautiful wood and felt hand-made heart.
This auction is for another of my Christmas bears Snowball who is a Contemporary OOAK Bear approx 14" tall. Made from luxurious crushed faux mink fur in a soft ivory colour. Snowball has Matching paw pads and inner ears. This chubby bear has also been heavily weighted. I have extensively scissor and needle sculpted Snowballs to create pleasing proportions. This tiny miniature bear has also been heavily weighted with shot. I have extensively scissor and needle sculpted Rudolph to create correct miniature bear proportions. Then using my own artistic shading and embroidery techniques I have created Rudolphs special character. Just look at his gorgeous little red nose and fashioned antlers made from alacantra. Baby Snow who a Contemporary OOAK Bear approx 11" tall. Made from luxurious crushed faux fur in a soft ivory colour. Snow has Matching paw pads and inner ears. This beautiful baby bear has also been heavily weighted. I have extensively scissor and needle sculpted Baby Snow to create pleasing proportions. Dylan is a Traditional mini vintage Style OOAK Mohair Bear approx 6" tall. Made from luxury hand dyed red crushed pile mohair fabric. Dylan has mohair paw pads and inner ears in a short pile toffee colour. He has also been heavily weighted with shot. I have extensively scissor and needle sculpted Dylan to create pleasing proportions. Using my own artistic shading and embroidery techniques I have given Dylan a special unique vintage aged character. Just look at his gorgeous little face. Black Jack is a OOAK contempory style Panda Bear approx 7" tall. Made from dense luxury wavy mohair bear fabric in a beautiful Ivory and Black. Black Jack has Matching paw pads and inner ears. This beautiful bear has also been heavily weighted with shot. I have extensively scissor and needle sculpted Black Jack to create correct teddy bear proportions.
