I tried to do this, but have a hard time getting the disk with the fixed bolt into the arm/leg. There is just not enough room inside for the length of the bolt. I now use set screws from Edinburgh and absolutely love them. No epoxy and I can fiddle the screw in easily.
I quilt, crochet, knit, needlefelt, embroider (cross-stitch, petit-point, hardanger and more), bake, cook, plan to try my hand at jewellry making, have sculpted in clay and tried lots of different crafts as a child.
Marion, I found that thread with Sue Anns book. It is way down the list of messages. http://teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=4113
Hi! Logging in at work, shouldn't be doing that, but I saw Shelli's cry for help here. You seem to have figured out most of it between you though. The site says that you can buy in 5 cm increments, but price is for 1 cm. That means the price is 93 Euro for a meter, slightly more than a yard. The Euro has a higher exchange rate than the dollar so this may be about $100. I've never bought from them and I think they recently expandend their web shop, which I haven't come across before, although I knew about Probear as a business. They do ship worldwide according to their shopping guidelines, but you need to inquire about shipping costs.
In general I have seen the same price levels on mohair in Europe as in the US, which is why I don't buy it from abroad. Customs can be a bitch. Check US customs before you order to avoid bad surprises. I just checked that for sending a present to the US and it said (on our post website) that the US always charges a fee for any package regardless of if its a present or goods. Maybe, if you can get it sent as letter it slips through, don't know.
Jare, I wish the world would adopt the metric system. I'm so confuse by inches, ounces, feet, Fahrenheit etc. Metric is so much more straightforward, but then I am a scientist.
If anyone needs more German translations just ask or send me an email. Won't be home for another 8 or 9 hours though.
My hubby says that perfect bears, absolutely symmetric and flawless bears are boring. He loves the ones with just slightly asymmetric faces, legs pointing a little in different directions and so on. Gives them character he says. I have learned to see it his way, else I would throw away all my bears
Hi Kim,
I have pas (pattern acquisition syndrome) and very many links to crochet, knit, quilt and bear sites. Here is one for free crochet patterns http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory.php and the sister site for knitting http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory.php. Of course, there is freepatterncentral.com, but I degress from bear making. Did you see the pocket pets on lionbrand's site http://www.lionbrand.com/learnToKnitPocketPets.html ?
Those scarves look pretty easy to make, just try it. Hmm, in thread for a bear perhaps. So many ideas so little time.
I am not sure where we decided to discuss crochet bears. Mostly in miniatures so far, but these are not minis. I saw these on ebay and searched the web for a site. It is pretty new and I haven't bought a pattern yet, but I am very tempted. Raspberry and the pegasus are my favourites. I would like to make them in thread to turn them into minis. If you like crochet art visit this amazing ladies website. I hope she sells well and continues to develop patterns.
Um, on weekdays I log on when i get homefrom work and stay on until I go to bed. On weekends I'm logged on all day and spend hours reading almost all posts. I do leave the computer to make lunch and to do some sewing, but not enough. I crochet in front of the computer and I read and write while watching tv, sometimes annoying hubby.
Uhuh, I am really addicted. And I am covering several yahoo groups and ebay at the same time, ouch.
Awww, what a darling. Good luck!
Sandi, I just got reminded of a tip on how to avoid holes in decreases like on the top of the feet. Don't crochet two stitches together, instead just omit one and pull tight. It happens to me sometimes that I omit a stitch and I can't see where so have to rip out row by row and count stitches. So this should work pretty well. I'll try that on my next bear, just wanted to let you know first.
Awwww, sooo lovely, pretty and cute.
Looks like a real antique. Well done! Good luck!
Cute!
Lovely pig Shelli. You continue to stretch your abilities and out-compete yourself. Best of luck to you as to all the others. Its going to be a tough race.
Another gorgeous one. This is my personal favourite among your Toby entries. Well done!
Gasp, what an adorable mouse. How can anyone judge between her, a piggy and a tiger?
I've seen him before, but I am amazed again. Airbrushing is something totally beyond me. I'd probably spray the whole appartment if I tried
What a darling bear Jenny. Good luck! Boy am I glad I'm not a judge.
Amazing as always Shelli. Good luck!
Jenny I love your bears and critters. This is another outstanding example with the typical 'Jenny expression' if you know what I mean. Your animals are unique and easily recognizable. Good luck!
Um, there is another topic called matilda's swap-a-roo finally pics which I opened yesterday. I am an absent minded scientist and seem to have confused everything, but there can never be too many pictures can there?
OMG I am speechless Kelly. This must be a sure winner. I had a good laugh imagining your fight with the magnets. I so know what you mean.
Freeeeyyyyaaaa, little horsi horsi, coooome heeeeere. Its a nordic name so she definitely needs to stay at my house.
