Hi Judi, I also recieved an email from Maria this morning. Here it is (even though it looks like you are set now)

Sonya, tell your friend not to panic. I haven't
heard anything officially yet....from the rules and regs it said that
the nominees would be announced in the TusF magazine, which only hit
the shops yesterday (except around here - still haven't got mine). I
got the list last week from a friend, who has a subscription to the
mag, and so got her copy early.
It does say in the rules that nominated entries have to be in by
April 15 at the latest....your friend could e-mail the organisers if
she is worried - they seem pretty good and actually DO respond to
mails!!!
If she is really worried, she could send her bears to me, as I have
to take mine in....and then she can try bribing me to send her the
Golden Georges!?!
Anyway - I'll let you know the minute I hear anything more

I would contact them your self. From what I understand I think the final judging is in about 6 weeks, but don't  quote me.

Come on out where I live. The tarantulas travel in HERDS! In the summertime, there are areas on the base where I work, where you will be driving down the road and see what looks like a big dark shadow crossing the road. When you get close enough you can see that it is a herd of tarantulas. I once had someone catch on for me and I brought it home for my sons in a can. We put it in an aquarium. Now that tarantula ATE! A LOT! It had a piece of wood inside the aquarium that he used to climb. Everytime I came in the door and walked by he would leap at the glass like he was going to attack me. Scared the bee-gee-bees outa me! He had to go!!

Judi, I just don't know what to say. I am in awe! What a wonderful life you and your family live. You are amazingly talented, and it shows by all of the awards this year. I think I knew from before that you did Ballroom dancing, but to see this report and all of the wonderful pictures and stories really gives me an appreciation of how to live life to the fullest! I am so proud of you and how well you are doing with your bears. You are so creative! This report was amazingly well done and it shows how much of your heart you put into it. It will be hard to top. I look forward to seeing more reports from others.

What photo program are you using? I use photoshop and have the option of erasing the background so when it pastes the head into another picture, it pastes only the head. The pixels that were around the head to start with are cleared instead of turned white.

Congratulations ladies! Marion, doing the swap with you was a wonderful experience and really helped me get to know you better. Now reading this article, I can really appreciate all of your hard work. It is paying off and I expect a bright future for you. By the way, my dad was here when I opened your bear and he fell in love with Flann and Una. He was quite impressed!

Another way to do it is to have both photos open at the same time. select the head you extracted (without the background) then copy it,  go to the new photo and paste it.

Thanks guys.. It is funny because although we both agreed to stray from the St Paddy theme if we choose, neither of us had any idea we were making red bears which we both love.

Heather,
When I restored an old bear, I sewed the paw pads over the top of the existing pads. Just use a ladder stitch and start anywhere and work your way around. Try to catch your stitch in the existing seam.

Oh Kassie, you poor sweetheart! Peter understands more than you know. You are giving him a great gift to not have him be in pain. It is our hearts that hurt only because we LOVE. If we did not hurt, we would not love again. We need that pain ourselves to show us how wonderful love is and to look forward to it again. It takes time to heal, but HEAL it will. Love him now and you will know in your heart it is for the best.
My heart will be with you tomorrow.

I was so thrilled to come home from Albuquerque and find the post office note to come down and pick up a package from France. So this morning I went and picked up Flann and Una made by Marion of Acid Attic Bears!
I LOVE them BOTH!!
Flann is so sweet with her pink bow tie and Una (the little sheep)  is simply adorable! She also sent the cutest card of stamps and and a note all packed in an adorable decorated box.

THANKS MARION!! I hope you love your bear as much as I do!
