Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

I chose 10 - 14in but I also have some smaller ones.  I don't really go for the bigger bears and I wouldn't know where to put them, I do have one bigger bear who was handmade in the 1970s, he sits on top of my wardrobe.

Thank you :).  My Hoblins bear is also from Pudsey, I went for the first time in October.  What date is the next one because it would be nice to go?

My little collection is trying it's hardest to grow and these are the ones that have been added since I last showed photos.

We have Sally Smudge (in the cardigan) - a Jac-Q-Lyn bear, a Huntersfield bear (with the big purple nose) that was in the sale and needed rescuing, Isabella by Hoblins Bears and the dark brown one is a World of Miniature Bears bear, I got those last two for Christmas.

And uh oh look what I've got for my birthday...  a doll...

That's Kirsten, a Charlie Bear I got for Christmas, my first collectors doll who I've called Anna (my mum let me have her early!), she's by Marie Mischell and of course my other Charlie Bear, Finley who lives with those two.  I'm getting two more small Charlie Bears for my birthday from my fiance, we can't afford an artist bear at the moment but I still need my fix!!

I can't believe I have a doll, I was never really interested in dolls growing up but this one stole my heart.

Thanks guys.  The ring has not been shipped yet, it's status is still 'ordered'.  I'm so glad I managed to find another, I wanted something a bit different as I've been engaged before with the typical diamond solitaire as my ring.  I was with the guy for 6 years but never wanted to marry him, he was very abusive.  Anyway this time I'm definitely with the right guy, he hasn't got a mean bone in his body and encourages my work with the cats, my collecting of bears etc and general craziness.  I can finally be myself!!  The ring is very petite, not expensive as I want it as a symbol not because it's worth a lot, it has a small ruby in the middle, and 3 small diamonds at each side, oh and it's white gold.  I think it would have been easier to find an engagement bear!!

Marilyn, the cats have all been ill since December, we've had feline chlamydia and a parasite called giardia in the house.  I finally got the foster I had into a pen at another fosterer's house so mine are finally over the giardia but we are still fighting the chlamydia.  We are also waiting for some test results for my friend's foster kitten who may have FIV, this kitten has been around so many cats including the foster I had, we are hoping that she hasn't got it otherwise there's going to be A LOT of cats needing to be tested including my own little ones :(.  I only started fostering last year and wish I'd received some training on protecting my own cats, also we need to get these cats tested before they are brought into our homes as often no signs of illness are shown.  Anyway, the results of the test should be in today, hence me panicking and ranting on here!  If anyone reads all of this, please be thinking of us today!

Not to worry I've finally chosen another which has now been ordered.  Hopefully it wont be too long in arriving and there will be no problems along the way!

I recently got engaged and have looked and looked for a ring.  Actually I pretty much found one right away but it turns out that they don't ship out of the US, I've browsed the internet and looked around where I live and just haven't found anything near the one that I fell in love with.  We've e-mailed the company but they haven't replied :(.  So what I'm wondering is if there are any companies over there that would do it for us so we can get it over to the UK, I have no idea what to search for on Google so I thought I'd try you people!!  I'm getting desperate!

I'm still working on getting a big collection but I do have to make sure my bears are all comfy before I go to bed, it's a good job my fiance has always known he's marrying a nutcase!

As a collector I also wouldn't ask for a discount, I use layaway if there is one available but if I can't afford it then I can't afford it!

Great start!  I have 5 artist bears so far but also collect lots of other stuff, tomorrow I bring home my first artist doll so that's another expensive hobby!:P

Aren't these cats great, I've got to get one of them?!!  Have you thought about making an urchin style cat, they would also be very cute?  We have plenty of kitty models coming through our doors and believe me, a lot of them are urchins!!  At least yours wouldn't come with fleas!:lol:
