Hi there Elaine here from Stavert Bears, just wondering if there are any fellow bear artists or collectors near Malvern in Worcestershire....would be great to hear from you!
I have always found making clothes for bears rather tricky! No bear is the same shape!
I make their clothes myself by making a paper pattern first and adjusting accordingly.
I get a lot of 'gruff' comments from a'bear bear' but sooner or later they are clothed, but it is very much trial and error!
Best wishes
Elaine

What a smashing bear, it is such a good feeling when a bear turns out just right!
What a great bear Ellen, he must have taken a good few months to put together! A great imagination from a talented artist
Thankyou for your comments, they are very encouraging. Thanks also about the advice with the size of the photos............it worked!!
Here are "Amelia and Bertie" fingers crossed photos work!
This is a photo of my bears made from linen. I must admit when I see such wonderful creations made from mohair by so many talented artists, I do wonder if I'am having a funny turn, making mine from this fabric.
I find linen such an easy fabric to work with, it shows the lines of the design very well.
'Amelia' is extensively 'repaired' she wears a lace shawl.
'Berite' wears his best velvet suit which has a lace collar. Both bears are filled with pellets for a nice weighted feel, and fibre for a 'saggy' look.
Making clothes for bears is quite a challenge, but great fun.
I do hope you like them and would welcome comments good or bad!
Regards Elaine
