Oh Pauline.... I think you need to put him in a cupboard for a while... then make a new head one that you don't hate! It could have been a blessing ... if you felt such hate who knows he could have been a danger if unleashed on the public... only kidding... he did look cute but maybe start a fresh will bring you more happiness. As a fellow work destroyer ( must keep that temper in check  bear_angry ) I understand.
Count to 10 next time,

Also the beach and cinema scenes in Atonement were filmed in Redcar - amazing! I am so sad I didnt live there to see them bear_cry

Maria... what a challenge that would be! Maybe one day! You have set the cogs rolling! Watch this space!

Hi All!!!!

Sorry its been a while! I have been making some bears but there hopefully going to be for a few comps this year so I will show them later. Whilst not sewing, working and trying to do my boring NVQ I have made an attempt at a website. Although basic I'd love for you to have a peek. It shows my bears and my art work... like I say pop over if you can... as it doesn't work with spell check let me know of any huge spelling mistakes haha! bear_rolleyes

Well back to NVQ and then maybe a rest. Have a great weekend at Hugglets all!

small-cliff.jpgsmall-cliff-2.jpgHI,
Just thought I would share Cliff. A bear I was asked to make by my parents friend for his wife. As this was a first bear request not for family  I felt much pressure, Cliff is the result. Let me tell you he was a sod to make! The mohair is delicious dense mohair... I'm used to sparse, his body is a 4 piece... never done before and his feet applique... another new one. I really think next time I need to stick with what I know. Less stress. I love his body but wish I could have gotten a little more length on the face, despite running a cotton bear up the mohair makes everything less sharp. Never mind quite happy now he is out of the way... back to slightly less fluffy bears.

DSCN1923.JPGHere is my smallest bear to date... about 5" I think! She is a little ballet bear made with the off cuts of a sugar plum fairy costume I made a friends little girl. I was hoping to get her on ebay but my mother-in-law has claimed her for a friend in need. I hope it cheers her up, and I guess I will have to make a similar but different one at some point as i rather enjoyed making her... I have some ballet bears in mind so stay tuned!

Thank you! I forgot to say I put some dried lavender in his tummy which for a short time made him smell lovely! The lavender was out of her garden! haha!
Glad you all liked him!

HI All,
In an attempt to push myself I really want to set a few goals, one of which is to enter a competition. I have seen the entries in bear magazines but haven't any idea how I enter them! I was looking at the BBA one that some of you guys have had big success with and as it is a national award thought I would start at home... but how! I cant find info on dates or anything.. ( I couldn't see them in the library either bear_sad  am I just silly?) I have an idea I'm itching to make up as an entry! Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks and keep up with the lovely bears! Drool!

HI,

That stuff they use for flowers I have not seen for sale before, but I guess a florist whole sale place may be of use?
I have seen a water substance they use for dolls house ponds and I think sculptor's use it for mermaids and stuff, I dont know what its called or how much you could use it but a search for dolls house supplies may throw up something, I think it sets hard like plastic.
ohh a confusing one!

DSCN1914.JPGThis is Toby, I made him for my mother in law ( to be! Getting married in August) She named him Toby. I think he is quite a posh looking bear! I was quite pleased with him, I finished him the day before the accident, phew good timing a half finished bear probably would not have been all that good a gift!

DSCN1891.JPGThis was my fairy on top of the tree! Scrap is the only bear I have yet made and can not part with! I love him, and he sat on top of the tree all season long! He is now more than happy to be back on the comfortable mantle piece!

DSCN1814.JPGHI All,

Happy new year! I have just gotten around to transferring some pictures of my recent bears, these are mainly the ones I have done for Christmas... yes delayed i Know but on Christmas eve I was involved in a little car bang and got whiplash, not too bad but enough to have me taped to a hospital bed and xrayed on Xmas eve, doped up over Christmas and stiff as anything still now! But It could of been so much worse, being a passenger for once I was completely blameless!

Anyway this is Noel who was made for my mums friend, mum knitted the scarf, I hate knitting... also known as I'm not very good at knitting! I will post the others separately as I'm not too good at multiple pictures!
Let me know what you think!

Happy new year and WOW some fab bears around... I have checked every day!

low-res-2.jpgHi, I would like to share this bear with you! I made her in the summer for the Exbury Bear Fair. She is the Spirit of the Garden. I made her crown and cape, which had flowers on the back as well as her sun and rain wand. I recently took some pics as she has now gone to live with my mum... she doesnt know this I have added her to her Christmas present list! Mum always sounds sad when I make a new bear and sell it... she hasnt got one yet!
I hope you like her and she reminds us of the summer on the day I have seen the first frost of the year!

Oh I know Boo had a smaller head than body but I think I still need some advice!  bear_whistle

ladyjujuann

Hi all,
I have a big want to make an anami style bear, I have tried to make some with felt and I just cant get there... Im grumpy! I now have a head that I gave up as a bad idea, used the mohair on Seth and now I have stitched up the head for want of something to do I love him... but have not got enough mohair to make a body, so I though one of those smaller bodys and smaller limb style bear would be good, but try as i might Im stuck... can anyone offer a little advice before i am stuck with a head and nothing else.
