Hey Melissa,
Ebay is always hit or miss kind of proposition. Do not feel bad about a bear not selling. Your bears are adorable, you should be very happy about them. You are very talented.
I always have to just cross my fingers when I list something on Ebay. Sometimes they sell sometimes they don't . Right now I seem to be in a selling slump.
I just keep trying.
Love and Hugs,
Kathy

Thanks guys for the lovely compliments. she is actually brighter colored than shows here but I was in a hurry taking the picture last night. My good friend Lisa Madsen of Madsens miniatures taught me how to paint the foot pads in real life they look 3-d, and are very brightly colored, can't see it well in the photo though.

yes Amanda the smokey long pile is really easy to sew. It has a great backing and sews up just great. you have to pay attention to which way the pile lays when you cut though. I get all mine from Sassy bears and fabric.

:)Okay I finished her. here is Lil' Violet. she is actually made from Pink smokey long pile, but it give her a lilac color.  :love:She has hand painted foot pads and fully five way disc and pin jointed.  She stands on her own and is a huge 3" tall.

I too use poly fil, but that idea for the bb's is a great one. I always have trouble getting enough of them in to get the weight I won't . I think I just threw out a pair of nylons. I'm going to try that new Idea. be right back.

I always use cotter pins and they can be a trial. But I really like the way the bear looks and moves with the pin joint.
I agree it is really a pain trying to turn the pins inside a mini bears body though.

Hi guys,
I was just lurking by, I really love your bears Kim. Terrie that sunshine is just adorable.
I am working on a under three inch out of smokey long pile in pink. but she seems to be a bit slow on taking shape. I have her head done and sculpted nose and mouth stiched ready for eyes but I just can't seem to get focused on sewing.
I too don't always think of five inches as a standard for mini's. I saw some bears at a show that were about 8" and thought they were lovely and could be categorizes as mini too.

Heather,
good morning! I just thought it odd that all of a sudden my bears stopped selling. But then I got to thinking that the last several bears I sold went to Florida. Maybe your right better appreciation. Or maybe they just like minis more there .

That sounds good to me, and I have no problem sending internationally.

I get in trouble for sitting on the computer too. Luckily last year we got another computer so the kids don't bother me to much and we have double dsl line so everyone can surf at the same time.
I do get comments that i could make more bears if I was talking about them less!!

I think the question should be rephrased. How much is too much??? I have a stash in the garage (four large containers), one under the bed, one in the sewing cabinet in the dining room.
In our other house I had a room, before we moved my husband went in the room and told me Half of it goes! AAAAHHH!
I did it though now I think he regrets it because as soon as we got moved I just went and bought more!!! bear_grin bear_grin bear_grin

Sometimes my bears sell like hotcakes on Ebay and sometimes not at all. I don't have aclue as to what the difference is?? Except that I have had alot of buyers from Florida. and so lately I think what with everything going on down there they are not as busy with Ebay and such right now.
Of the last four bears on Ebay the first two sold right away, the last two which were equally as cute no bids at all and relisted several times to no avail.??? So go figure. bear_sad :/
Anyway I looked at your bears Clare and they look great to me!!!!!
I have tried the featured item just twice, it really does cost a pretty penny if your bears only sell for $30.00 to $60.00 but I thought it was worth a try too.
Good Luck, Clare

I have to teenage daughters, one 16 and one soon to turn 15. I cannot believe how the kids on those shows behave. It is because of how the parent behaves and how much time the spend on the child. You are so right about kids who are considered independent at age 12.
I worked for the school district for five years and saw so many kids who are just left to thier own devices while their parents are living thier own lives.
Kids need parents all the time, even thru college and into adulthood. You wouldn't just throw your pet out and expect it to do for itself. They need love, attention, and care constantly so do kids.
I am so proud of my kids for the great kids that they are. They are both totally different but both great kids.

kathysfish.jpgHey guys,
all your pictures are just so great. Nice to see your smiling faces. I was searching for a picture of me, but I seem to always be the one behind the camera. I do have this one of me but not with a bear, this is the fish I caught this summer. Fishing is one of my other obsessions. I love the outdoors and all outdoor activities. Hunting , Hiking , Fishing, Boating.
The other is of my wonderful Family the year we moved back North. (2003)
