Hi,
I made this Bear for the Charity, but something seems to be wrong and I cant put my Finger on it.
I changed his Eyes numerous times, with- without Eyelids, underlined with white Felt, smaller, bigger eyes, etc. He just dont "give me the Look" I want.
Maybe it`s his small Mouth?
I took the eyes out, and he has now the temporary "test eyes".
Do you have any Ideas what is wrong with him?
Even so he is for the Charity, I do want him to look nice
( I forgotten to mention, there was no Choice of Pattern, it had to be the one from Nancy Tillbergs Antike Book Pattern )
Rita
Hi,
Sounds grrreat.
I love to be on your website with my profile.
Let me know the details, please
Rita
Amanda,
thank you soo much for the tip, I think I keep trying it on this Head til it works. ( Then, this one, WILL end up in the Trash also )
Your Bruno looks really cute, I also like your Bear you have on your pic.
Rita
Oh Shelli, you even give Compliments on a mess up.
You are soo nice.
The "Pig Nose" I done on purpose, after the "mess up" was done, I thought, might as well make it look like a pig.
When I see all you Bear Artist`s, like you and Judy, making those eyebrows and eyelids, I really thought I give it a try, well, so much for that, I think I stick to making my plain and simple Teddies.
Rita
Did you ever seen something that UGLY?
I especially made a Head just to test out some new techniques, but that is how far it went.!
What a mess I made trying to felt eyelids and on one eye I tried the eyelids with Leather Cording.
I also tried the Copic Markers for shading, they dont work out for me either!
Was it just not my day, or did anybody experienced days, where absolutely nothing works out, no matter how long and hard you try??
I wanted it to work sooo badly, especially the felting eyelids!
Rita
Shari,
He is georgeous, there is nothing I dont like.
His face is soo cute, and the color combination is super.
How did you attached the Head to the felted Body?
Rita
Hi Ladies,
I like to make something other than Bears, Dogs, Cats or Bunnies for a Change and cannot find any Patterns.
I was thinking of more realistic like Pigs, frogs, horses, etc.
E-Bay has nothing either, does anybody know where I can find it??
Rita
Hi,
Shelli is the greatest!
She made this wonderful Avator for me.
I am so happy about this, I would not know how to begin making one, but she was so generous to make it for me.
Thank you a million again, Shelli
Rita
Hi,
I almost feel guilty having a whole day to spend just making bears!
I do have a Store also, but my employees taking care of most of the Duties.
The only disadvantage I have, I cant travel to shows,my 2 Big Birds I have wont let me, and I cannot find a Birdsitter.
All the Vets, and Kennels take only cats and Dogs, and the Ad in the Newspaper was a lost cause also
Rita
Hi,
I am in the same "Shoes" than Amanda,
if I start at "my fair" price, I dont get bids, if I start low, than I dont even get the money for the materials.
I think it depends a lot how "famous" you are as an Bear Artist.
If you did not win any Awards, or got featured a lot in Magazines, your Name and Bear dont worth a lot.
This is my experience, maybe someone has a different opinion.
Rita
Daphne,
you cannot tell a difference in your pictures when you compress them.
Just check out my Website and let me know what you think.
Rita
Hi Ladies,
Sometimes I get sooo bored and frustrated with some Websites, it seems to take forever for them to load. I am not a very patient Person, so I click those Website away, and on to the next one.
Here is what I am using to load the pictures faster:
The JPEG compressor, it downsize the file of your pictures, than it loads really quick.
It wont change the look, just makes the files smaller.
(I hope my english makes sense?)
You can also use Irfanview to downsize the picture in half, then compress them.
Try it, it really works
Rita
Hi Kelly,
I still have a lot of those big Disc`s which I dont use anymore.
Making this large Bears is not my thing, and it shows on the Bears.
If you like the ones I have, let me know.
Rita
Judi,
I was just reading your post and you mentioned this website www.tryseaveggg.com, but the side wont open.
Do you have their Phone number? I would love to try it too, and is it expensive?
Or is it available in Health food stores?
Rita
Hi,
I am inspired by Lorraine Chien`s Bears & Critters.
She always comes up with soo many cute Ideas. I never tried that my Bears look like hers, ( they never would even come close, even if I tried).
And I do admire all Bear Artist who found their "Style", which I did not find yet either.
I just get soo bored doing the same pattern over and over again.
Rita
Hi Dilu,
Thank you, thank you, that is just great.
I like to have the size what fits a 4"inch Head.
Rita
Thanks Shelli
I am making a Cat and tried a few things for the Whiskers. but it either breaks, or dont look right. What I am using right now I ordered it from CRS Crafts, especially made to insert for Whiskers, but it always breaks off by pulling it through.

Laure,
Your Bears are always a Hit, I wish mine would look half as good.
The Golly you made with the red sculpted mouth, did you stuffed it and then sewed it onto the face?
Rita
Yes, it is reeeally slow right now, even in my Store it is slow.
It is School Vacation for the kids and, I guess, Parents dont have that much money to spend on collectibles right now
Rita
Hi,
I made a few Bears, which I think are really cute, but they been sitting around for month and month, they just dont sell.
What are you doing with your "Shelfsitters"??
I am not a Bear Collector, but I love making them, it is soo relaxing for me after a hard days of work.
