For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
I live 100 miles from the nearest fabric store and they never have any good faux furs so everything I buy is on the internet from several different suppliers.
I have a grandson who works at Universal Orlando. Maybe he can get some inside pictures. He was going to work in that section but he would have to start at the bottom of pay scale again and couldn't afford to do that so he will continue to work in the Marvel comics section. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and couldn't get a job in his field and working for Univeral is the only thing he could find. They don't pay their employees very well and they work lots of odd hours.
Love that expression! And then those big fee are out of this world.
Those bears should go over well at the show. A lot of people are going to say, I had a bear like that when I was growing up. I know I did.
She is really sweet. Hope you do well in the competition.
Laura, glad you didn't get hurt too bad. I am so glad I only have no stairs in my house or I probably would have joined with all of your ladies who have tumbled down the stairs.
Great looking bear  I really like him.
Yea!!!! Visitors........would love it. We can even go to Oatman and see all the burrows in the streets and check out the shops. That is close to us too. They even have a gold mine where you can pan for gold. I think it is still open.
Good luck with the belly button. I put them in my dolls sometimes but have never done them on my bears. They do make tiny little buttons for doll clothing if you want to try to use a button sometime.
I use the wire in my mice but have never used it in the dolls. I will have to try that next time. I use the curlers in the bears because they are so easy to work with even though they are higher priced than the wire.
What fun!!! Now I just have to get down to Phoenix. I would love to have an evening with all the bear people. Maybe someday I can make it. If anyone is going to go to Las Vegas or Laughlin this summer, give me a call and I will be there. I am only 15 miles from Laughlin and about 2 hours out of Vegas.
I have found nothing stops the addiction. I have been making bears 30 years and I can't stop. I am always finding a new fur I want to work with or an idea pops into my head for a new design and off I go. Then there are the soft dolls I make, and they are another addiction. I probably have enough fur and fabric to last a life time but I am always finding something else I just have to have.
I use the foam covered curlers that Joanne from DesertMountainBears told me about. I love them. You still need to secure the ends of the curler with electrical tape and then pad them with stuffing. Here is one of the bears I did that way.
Love that little guy. I am still working on my pattern.
I found the jennylovesbenny site but those are not quite what I was looking for so I guess it is just design what I want. Maybe I will come up with a whole new look.
I am trying to find one too as my daughter wants me to make one for her. I had no luck online either.
Have a great holiday.
I get the Teddy Bear Review print magazine. I use to get Friends but dropped it a couple of years ago. I prefer the Review.
Alison, I got some of the stuffing from Daphne that she has. It is great for stuffing noses. I even used it on the doll noses and loved it.
Thanks to everyone who took a look at my bear and a special thanks to all who made comments. I appreciate each and every one of them. I am taking this bear to a show this weekend and hopefully she sells as she hasn't seen much traffic on my website.
This is my spring maiden. She is tall at 20 inches, 5 way jointed with bendable arms and legs. She has locking, child safe eys and nose, like all my bears do. She is made of a short gray faux fur with black felt paws. I made her outfit without a pattern so it is a custom one of a kind. The dress and bloomers are in a pink cotton, trimmed in white lace and pink satin ribbon. All clothing is removeable. The straw hat is trimmed in silk flowers and a pink satin ribbon. She also wears a antiqued locket tied with a pink ribbon around her neck. She is shown in this month's issue of Bears & Buds and is listed on my website.
He is a little cutie. Love that expression on his face.

Not really sure but you could try some scented dryer sheets in the bottom of the totes or maybe spray every thing with Febreze and then store it. It worth a try anyway.
