HA! Soo cute! My dog is about that big and I'm thinking of rigging up something like that. Now he just comes in a backpack and it's soo funny to see the reactions when people realize it's not a stuffed animal!
Thanks for another cute pic!
Thanks for the tips ladies!!
I have ordered my sample from http://www.loubear.com/ and I can't wait to see it. It IS tough to find anything different but I might be getting closer.
Donna, great suggestions! Thanks!
Shane, Disco joints were at the last bear show I just put on. They are great people and have some very interesting mohair. Problem was, day was over before I got a chance to shop. I LOVE how they have free shipping over $100 bec. how easy it is to spend over $100?? VERY EASY if you're me! LOL
Bobbie, the room was square, but the two back corners had doors that I couldn't block, so the figuration ended up being round. I thought it was perfect because no table got left out of the natural walking flow.
Hello,
Looking for patterns and inspiration for kids toys and I found this link. It has a ton of free crochet patterns and I love the food ones. I'm thinking of learning to crochet just so I make a bunch of play food for the upcoming baby.
Thought I'd share this link with you all
This has been interesting to read! I can see advantages to both, the wall and the center.
I would also like to Ditto what Mel said as a show promoter. I tried my best to create a good floor plan for this past show and it was a tough puzzle. A lot of thought goes into a floor plan and although I tried to make everyone happy I know this can be an impossible feat!
I was lucky enough to be able to create a round floor plan where I feel no table had a 'better' spot per say and the customers had to walk in a circle and see every table anyway.
it's nice to hear what everyone likes though I've learned a thing or two.
i know, I should be promoting Intercal and yes, I buy lots of mohair from them but I am bored with the selection. I just want to try something different. I am in love with nice thick, soft alpaca or mohair and intercal only has soo much.
So.........where do you buy your mohair?? I'm not a Schulte snob at all, so I'm willing to try anything. I have been to beary cheap and Edinburgh but that's it. I am starting to fall in love with some of these sites that sell beautiful synthetic but still.
So if you don't mind sharing where you get your stuff from, I'd love to hear it. I wish at my show I had more time to shop. i only came home with 1 piece of fur and that's it!!!!
Too bad I'm not on your list so I could send her a nice nasty email...............
You handled yourself well though, nicely done!
nice work! I really love his 'cheeks' and the color and it looks like he sold really fast! Sweeeeeeeeet!
Edie that stinks. I think maybe if she hit "reply to all" it would sent to everyone but that's it. It's not a computer setting, it has to be deliberate.
I don't like her answer to you at all. She gets emails from people all around the world?? Huh, who cares? Doesn't mean she should spam people.
I hate how she plugged her site in her email to you. I don't think I like this woman one bit!!!!!!!!!
Poor Edie, that just stinks and the fact that she doesn't even feel bad makes is worse!!!!
Wow, too cute and I learned about a new breed!
I used to have a Derrhound when I was a kid and they are great dogs. Although I went a little small when I got my little pomeranian LOL
Thanks for the pics
Sounds like a great time!! Too bad you're too far away to come to the Calgary show but I'm glad you can go somewhere to meet TT'ers. Soo much fun and getting a new bear is always great!
just adorable. You did a great job!
Cat,
YOU ARE EVIL!!!
Now I have to order a bunch of the wonderful faux fur! LOL
great link, thanks
Soo cool!
Didn't I read somewhere Paula that you're in that book somewhere?? I hope so.
Sue Ann,
you write very well and I loved reading your post. you should write more, it's a gift for sure!
Wow, people are mean. And it's usually the jealous ones that feel the need to say nasty things. I get comments like " I wish I was crafty...." Or "they pay HOW MUCH for a bear"
I have to say though, that with this bear show just past a lot of my friends came by to support the bear show and they were all shocked to see the quality of work on display and the fact that there are some serious collectors out there.
It's funny bec. the image of a starving artist is quite romantic and an artist that makes good money for what they do is respected. People pay all sorts of money for a painting or a sculpture, or a doll made from a mold and no-one thinks anything.
ARTIST BEARS ARE ART!! Plain and simple. And that's what I tell people when they scoff at how much I sell my bears for. They're scoffing while they have expensive art hanging on their walls.
But it was nice to see that once some of these people saw the bears they learned to appreciate them as art. Thank goodness!
Wow, I think they're great and you could totally sell them!!! Or put them on your bears for next years show! (hint hint)
Yes, Krista that kitty is fantastic and wonderfully made!! I'm not suprised at all that it won. Although I like my kitty better............LOL
Edie, next year we'll give the ribbons out before the end of the show so we can all view the winners because I agree it was soo fast.
I will be posting the winners on my website next week, but laura's Racoon did win the best in show.
Can't wait to see you next year Marion! YAY!!
Jo Smith, you should totally come! You're bears are very unique and would do well I'm sure.
Krista, I'll tell Tony. He'll be pleased. I kept him on that table all day bec. I would've DIED if anything had happen to the entries.
he is just yummy! Love the color combo on the mohair!

Wow, thanks that was nice of you to post Tammy.
I am also excited. I can't wait to see all the bears, meet TT'ers in person and have a great show!!
There has been soo much interest from collectors that I'm sure it will be a success!
I will also take a ton of pictures and I'll make sure to post them. I also better get my batteries charging.
