You must have read in my mind too!
I was trying to collect informations about how to dye some carded wool for neddle felting!!!!
Thanks Ruth!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Thanks for the link, but if some people have tried other methods, i would love to know what kind of results you obtained!
i have tried some liquid food dyes: i put a few drops of green dye in about 10 cl of water, added a big full spoon of white vinegar, some salt, mixed all, then put some carded wool inside, then heat for 5 min in the microwave, then let it soaking overnight. I obtained a nice green colour, the same as the initial solution. I now have to work out how to get a dark forest green colour! Maybe I should had some blue in the mix...
Do you think boiling some carded wool is really ok?
Do I need to add vinegar and salt to dye with Tea. What is your own recipe to dye with tea?
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
i am trying to find out how to dye some wool to needle flet.
Can you help me, please?
Thanks,
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
I am in love for her!
Such a beautiful charming adorable bear!
Please, don't put a starting price too low, or i may end up bidding on her, and that would not be serious at all!
I have to be careful with my expenses!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
PS: that alpaca fabric is absolutely gorgeous!
I am so happy I have found that thread!
I asked my sister in law to contact a friend of hers about his sheeps, to know whether he could sell me some wool for my felting!
I have never tried felting yet, and i think i will find lots of infos in that threads once i am ready to begin!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Dear all,
I am pleased to introduce Colchique, the swap bear I made for Sabine. He is just arrived in Sweden after a 13 day journey.
He is 32 cm tall. His weight is 750 g. He is made of 23 mm sparse light lemon curly Schulte mohair matching backing. Paw pads and foot pads are made of pistachio green ultra suede. Nose, mouth and eyebrows are embroided with matching pistachio green cotton thread. He is fully jointed with cotter pin joints (40 mm diameter for arms, 45 mm diameter for head and legs). He has green German glass eyes. He is filled with heavy uncarded polyester with some added plastic beads in his tummy. I made his claws with green Rocaille beads. I embroided a green bicolour shamrock on his right foot pad. He has got a jingle bell in his right ear.
He wears a sleeveless vest made of kaki mixed wool and closed with a brown lace. There are some green stone beads attached to the collar of his vest.
He wears forest green wool baggy pants.
There is a cotton tag sewn to his right leg, with the artist's name on one side and the owner’s name on the other side, cross-stitched in golden cotton thread.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Her mum must be very happy Veronica has such a quiet hobby!

Why using alligator clips when you can simply make a tacking stitch before sewing??? (a friend of mine suggested it to me so I stopped using clips). 1 cm tacking stitches are fine.
Try it!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Oh dear! Where are you all going????
Do you really beleive we are supposed to make "perfect" bears? You are kidding, aren't you?
I my bears were perfect, I would not have anymore fun making them! What is making me this exciting feeling when bear making is to see every improvement I make with each new bear!
We are not programmed robots who cannot make any mistake. These are these little imperfections which give a soul to our bears. you embroided a strange nose on your bear? Oh, that makes him so special you would not dare redo it, would you?
Never forget that your bear is guiding your fingers when sewing! so if you ended up stitching a strangely shaped nose, that is because your bear wanted it! unless you were drunk, of course
!
So keep in mind that your bears are always perfectly lovable because you made them with your fairy fingers and your loving heart. by handmaking them you gave him a soul! If you don't fall in love for one of your bears, that does not mean he is not lovable, but only that he was made to be loved by someone else!!!
I am a bear collector, and I don't look for perfect bears but for APPEALING bears!
So stop stressing about minute details and stay yourselves!
I love you like you are, and not like I imagine you should be!
Oh dear, what a philosophical speech I wrote!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
