I'm still not sure exactly what's the problem, but I have another idea. If you have different pics and want to combine them you can copy and paste one onto the other. If you work on different layers on the same pic, say a bear on the background, text on another layer (actually, each text bit would have its own layer), another bear on the third etc., then you can combine/merge/amalgamate them all into one with the "flatten image" menu command or merge several layers with the merge down command.
Sandra, I don't know what you mean by "it changes". If you only see the contents of one layer at a time they are either overlaying each other (e.g. bear on top of bear) or there is a dark background that needs to be transparent. You can set the transparency of a layer on the layer window. I would take images of my screen if I new hat you need.
Hello Woolybear,
I love your creations. They are very well made and soo cute!
Btw, I'm German too and I crochet as well as sew and needle felt bears and critters.
Hi Sandra,
I'm not sure I understand your problem. First, do you mean Photoshop 4, which would be ancient (its at 8 or 9 now I think) or PS Elements 4, which would be new? My answer may not apply to an ancient PS, which probably didn't have the necessary functions.
Second, are you asking how to combine several layers into one image? There is a command that says flatten image, which will take the layers out and put everything on them on the same level. You won't be able to move or change objects any more though, so this should be your last step.
If this doesn't help, please, can you rephrase your question? Thanks.

Grrr yes, banks and credit card companies overcharge heavily both from the shops and the cardholder. In the end its always the cardholder who pays, as the shops have to build the fee into their pricing. Actually, that's a not ok either since shops save on security measures with mainly card transactions and little cash to protect.
Here in Sweden most banks charge 1.65% in currency exchange fee when the card is used abroad. If we take money out of an ATM abroad there will be 5% or a minimum of about $6 as cash withdrawal fee. There are however banks which don't have these fees and I use a card like that for all internatioal purchases. Its the small niche banks, usually internet based with few offices, which compete with smaller or no fees. Within the EU special laws require that banks charge the same fees between countries that they charge at home. So even my otherwise 1.65% bank doesn't charge anything in EU countries. Sweden doesn't have the Euro (yet ), but exchange to and from Euro is free by law.
Bobbie, I have done the copying and pasting of the link too until I realized I had to click that line I wonder why that doesn't work though.
I am puzzled by Photoshop too. If you open a picture and look at the size it has in the resize dialog, it will show at leat 2 times the size of what I see in Finder as the size of the original file. That's true for several formats, jpg as well as tiff, and I have no idea why. I just save the pics and then go look what size the file has. With 4 inches I meant horizontal (landscape pics), with portrait format I do 4 in. high. The number of pixels doesn't seem to be too important for the file size, but it is very important for the screen size. A pixel of the pic is shown as a pixel of the screen, which means that e.g. 900 pixels wide will take up a larger part of the screen than 400 pix wide. I think 200-400 pix is a good width for most pics and I just let the height adapt to that, keeping an eye on the dimensions in inches (metric actually, but same thing). File size in jpg depends on the quality level, so pics with more pixels can be compressed more, with lesser quality.
There is also the option Save to web in Photoshop, which creates much smaller files than the resize function. Don't know why. The dialog looks like this
Sabine ~ Your hub's got my beat with at least being handy
Mine doesn't do well with anything "creative", but is great with computers and numbers..he's a walking calculator which is great for me ''cause I stink with numbers. I admire your work very much
Esp your avatar bear with hat and scarf

Oh Chrissie, thank you so much  That bear is Sammy, who now lives with Wendy in Oz, from the first TT swap.
My hubs is a walking calculator too, which I depend on very much
Well, theoretically two people can at one point in time end up having the same IP address, but as Heather says, its highly unlikely. It would require that both people are using the same internet provider as these numbers are unique in the whole world and distributed in batches of 255 (at least I think its still 255 in a series). I have a hard time believing that to happen. Also, if IP addresses change, she would notice that the person on the forum has different addresses at different times. Unless maybe if that person never ever switches her computer off nor lets it go to sleep. I've never seen a forum register IP addresses. I hope, we are talking about the same thing? An IP address is a long sequence of numbers separated by dots such as 136.28.59.13 (just invented that number, no idea if it exists)
Hi Debbie,
I agree with what Gijzette said. In other words, the IP address is unique to a single computer at any given time, but depending on how your provider set up the system you may get a new address every time you switch on the computer and somebody else may have your previous IP address. If you try to manually enter an address that's already in use you get a warning and won't be able to connect.
I am puzzled by the email bit of your question though. IP (=internet protocol) is not connected to email, it identifies a computer (or a router) on the internet, including email services.
Did we help at all?
Um Bobbie, I thought I just explained how to upload multiple images. Press the image upload button and then follow my steps 1-3 or just follow the instructions in the little window that pops up after you click the image upload button.
Regarding size, the maximum is 250 kb. Anyway, I go by measurements and both resize my pics to 72 dpi and to about 4-5 inches in width. That usually leaves me with a well visible, not too large pic under 250 kb. Then I upload.
The image upload function was announced here
http://teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=5416
There has also been a discussion on photo upload in this thread
http://teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=10728
Bobbie, use the image upload button and follow the instructions on the little windows that pop up. You can use that button several times, once for each image. When you are done, submit the post.
Basically, what you will be doing is
1. choose a pic on your computer click "choose file"
2. upload that pic click "upload file"
3. paste the resulting code into your post: click "click here......"
After each upload you see a line of code in your text. This will show your pic after you submit your post.
I don't remember if there is a limit to the number of pics that can be included in a single post, but perhaps it says in the tech section. You can alternate text and pics with this method like I did here. i could go on and place pics below this again.
Hope this is clear. Let me know if it is not. I used the quick post, but I think the image upload button is available everywhere, while there is an additional function for an alternative method only when you start a new thread or post a reply. That method allows only one pic at a time, so you have to go back and edit the post for each additional pic and I think there is a limit of 5 (?) pics in total. That was the original way we had to do it, before the image upload button was installed.
I'm so envious of you guys. I don't know any artists or even crafters besides my online friends. Sure, many of my friends know how to knit or crochet, but they rarely do it nowadays and never at the level I am pursuing. My mother makes a bear or doll now and then, but she started after she retired and now has very bad eyesight. She is my greatest fan, but she doesn't understand my desire to learn more and challenge myself all the time. My father is handy with wood and electrical things, but not artistic. Same for my hubby. The closest is a male colleague, who is very handy and also does some nice things with wood, like pieces of branches to which he attaches a small glass as a candle holder.
At the natural history museum where I work there are a few illustrators, who do amazing water colors of animals and plants. That's as close as I get to other artists and that's why I love the online communities. You are all my friends and I admire all your skills.
Who was Miss Potter? Not Harry Potter's granny I presume
Edinburgh has several cat patterns, among them the two from Lisa Pay.

Yeeeeaaah! Congratulations Jennie! I knew your beautiful bears would finally find homes. You are the ambassador of artist bears here in Sweden and have a steep climb ahead of you, but if you persevere you'll make it.
P.S. Love the ferret.
Boy! Very cute
Sheesh, I guess I really don't have a criminal mind. To use someone else's name for a swap would never have occurred to me. Sorry this happened to you Dilu dear.
My suggestion, if its a name from TT, varify by sending a PM through TT and ask if the offer was legit.
Wow! Thanks for sharing.
Tracy, I'm late on this too, but so glad to hear it worked out. That company sounds terrible. I hear these stories from the US and can not understand why it is like that. I mean, sure, we pay the highest taxes in the world, but in exchange there is no limit on the number of sick days (although a 10-20% pay cut) and a minimum of 5 weeks of vacation (7 for state employees, but lower salaries). Health care is free (well, some limited fees apply, but that's nothing in comparison). Everybody gets sick, even the boss, right? Would they rather have somebody with an infection go to work and transmit it to everybody? Have him cough on his boss, maybe that'll teach him.
That poor mom. Things like that are illegal in Sweden and they should be everywhere! I hope he will find a better job soon.
OMG, my Captain underpants name is LUMPY GERBILSHORTS
That's what I get for entering a not so English name.
I entered my mother's name and got BOOBIE GERBILSHORTS (cracking up)
Oh thank you guys. You make me feel all fuzzy and warm.
I don't know, but i talk about hits, when I use a search engine (Google). The search results are hits. Maybe your site counts such searches?
Its been a while since I have managed to create a new crochet bear. Finally, as a Christmas present for my mother, Nikki came into existence.
Ooooh such eye candy! Wonderful bears. I just checked my photos and was surprised i actually made that many bears. it didn't feel like it. I guess my favorites are these two. Fabian, my swap bear for Sophie, who took several weeks to complete with appliqued ultrasuede toes and scissor sculpted muzzle. Taishi, one of my crocheted minis in Japanese style. I'm glad he didn't sell and still sits in my cabinet.
