oh, dear, I guess now I'm third on the list....MEMEMEMEME...I'd adopt that cutie in a second!
I thought I'd post a few more of the teds from my hug....this time by fabulous Bear Artist Sharon Barron of Vista, California....
I first bought one of her big bears, Adam, at the fantastic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania show a couple of years ago....he's maybe 20 inches or so (LOVE THOSE BIG BEARS )
And then, well, next time I went to that show, I bought another of her bears to go with him, a little smaller this time...her name is Mayflower...well, who can resist a bear with a hat and sweater????
And then, well, I saw a little smaller Barron Bear, Jamie, online....and I thought, well, that one would be nice to have, nicely dressed, a bargain and he IS a little more portable! He would fit in so nicely with the other Barron Bears!
And then this year when I went to that show yet again, and I saw this sweetest little Barron bear, little crocheted outfit and matching hat, and I thought, well, okay, just one more......her name is Jill...only 6.5 inches tall or so, that would be easy to fit into one of the bear cabinets, wouldn't it??? How much room can she take up really???
So there you go...from big bear to tiny bear.....
Yep, he's a Steiff Zotty for sure. You can tell that by his peach-colored bib. He's super cute, too. it's best to check out ebay for value, search for Steiff Zotty bear, go under sold items but everything is condition, condition, condition (like original tags and such), but....forgive me for saying it...valuation for your teddy is really whatever the market will BEAR! haha
Nope, can't see a problem with little beauty.....he's gorgeous!
LOL! Hmmm...I used to have one of these....brings back memories of my dearly departed William the Master Meower with the eight different meows....oh, yes, then there was that ninth meow which he started a year before he died....a simple "Yow!" when you entered the room....the other cats here are much too delicate to meow like that....the house is much quieter now....how I miss him.....sort of
Thanks for your kind words, Michelle and Peter --
That Steiff ted is a huge 75 cm (30 inches), so he really fills the chair! He might be a second or possibly a prototype that came on the market because he doesn't have his white tag, but rather a yellow unnumbered tag, but....I remember when I got him....he was at a regular retail store, and it was late in the day. They were just about to stock the shelves and they had all their merchandise on a cart, and there he was, towering above everything, and when I saw him, I think I might have pushed (gently, of course) people out of the way to get to him!! Lol.
Anyway, here is another teddy I bought at an estate sale this weekend....I don't know who the artist is....if anyone recognizes the artist, please let me know...I'd be thrilled to find out...He's a keeper!
Cute. cute, cute
So here are some of the teddies from my hug......I hope I can do this right....so here goes....my obsession with teddies...
I've always loved really large teddies. This is my largest, a huge steiff that sits at my dining room table
And here are some old steiff teddies that i am sending out to be repaired, as their feet have lost their pads, and one needs his smile back...
And then I've always had a soft spot for English teddies, so here are a few of those....
there you go for a start....I'll post more pics of my hug in the coming weeks....
My goodness, your bears are sooooo sweet! Love them! Love your camera work, too. It is just fantastic and makes me want to go out and get a new camera...lol.
