I met my hubby at work when we were both working for Royal Mail.I was working in a little office sorting out the letters that had to be returned to sender when hubby came in and shut the door behind him so he could keep it secret from everyone that he wanted to ask me out on a date.Well I agreed to a date so off he went to get back on with his work and went to open the door and couldn't open it as it had jammed shut so he had to bang on the window to get someone to let him out.Needless to say it didn't stay secret for very long.Well the rest is history and we are still together 18 years later.

I have had these problems with my teeth before and they are an absolute nightmare.Sometimes your teeth can hurt for a few days because it is tender with all the drilling etc.The only other problem could be with an abcess in that tooth because if they don't put antibiotics into the tooth when they are sorting it out the infection won't go away.Sometimes they give you antibiotics to take orally but I think that they prefer to put them in the tooth. It is also like Jodi has said where you hope that they have got the right tooth.I hope your problem gets sorted out as I know how horrible it can be.If it isn't any better in a few more days I would contact your dentist again.

Hooray Sprite is safe and sound and his new owner can have him instead of a refund. She must be really pleased as you can't replace something like that and the money can't replace all the love and time and effort into making these lovely little bears.  bear_thumb

Gemma I  did have it stated in the auction paypal only and she did ask me about the cheque afterwards.
Thanks for the advice Vicki-I have contacted her to see if she will pay this way.

Thanks for the advice.I had put on my ebay page that I only accept paypal from international buyers but the person who won the bear has said that she is having trouble with her paypal but she only has a feedback score of 10.I have now asked her again if there is any way she can sort her paypal out.Paypal is so much easier and I don't want the hassle of other payment methods really.Even though I haven't been selling bears for very long it is surprising how awkward it can be to get people to part with their money bear_sad

Please could anyone help as a customer in the USA wants to pay me for a bear of just over £40 with an international money order and I haven't dealt with these before.Do I take it to the bank and cash it and are there any charges etc.
I would be grateful for any info
Thanks Laurie

Hi Michelle,
My Siamese is a traditional one and she is a blue point.I have to watch the Balineses with her though as they think it is great fun to chase her. They chased her when we were asleep in bed the other week and she jumped up in the air to get away from them and knocked one of my best china plates off the wall-luckily it didn't break although  it isn't the best way to get woken up in the morning. bear_shocked

bitsbobs03.JPGI understand your dilema as we have two Balinese cats(siamesexangora)and they are 2 years old and they take all my sewing things if I don't keep them safely put away. They will take pins ,tape measures, cotton etc.I used to leave bears sitting finished on the table ready for the ears to be sewn on but they would pinch them and pins as well and send me in a panic trying to locate the missing pins. One of them even took the ears and pins as I sat working on another bear and the other bear was right beside me.They also like the heads so to cure them I made them one specially but it wasn't good enough-it must be more fun to pinch mine.I also have a siamese and birman but luckily they are better behaved.I love cats though so they don't really get told off-they are too cute for that. They are very lively too chasing each other around the house at full speed and they bounce up and down on the top of my net curtains even though they are a bit big for that now .Have you got any pictures of your siameses?

I have just started to put on my e bay bears that I will accept returns if you are not happy with the quality of my bears although you have to pay the return postage and I think that a return will be unlikely as I take great pride in making quality bears.I thought that I would put this as when people buy something they don't know what the quality is like because you can't pick up something and see for yourself it gives them a bit more reassurance that you are selling quality goods so they can feel more secure when parting with their money.

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works Gemma but I like the use of Tinker and Sebastian or a name each for them for the awards as it sounds nicer to give them a name. bear_smile

Hi Catherine,
I have been pulling my hair out too with a four piece body-it is the first one that I have done.It too came out like a football and the children thought it was really funny and they had a good laugh bear_sad .I have finished the bear now although he still looks a bit chubby but at least he is nice and cuddly.I think that you have to keep looking at it and trying to see where you need to slim it down. Also when I jointed the bear it did have a good overall shape with a nice shape tummy but before I put it together it still didn't look too good.It is a lot of trial and error but annoying because you don't want to ruin your bear or waste material.I still want to get the shape a bit better as the bear was chubby but I hope to get there next time.I didn't use darts on my pattern-I didn't want to complicate things. bear_wacko   Just hang in there and leave it for a few days and then go back to it so you can look at it with a clearer mind.I hope this helps.

BEAR-COMMISIONS-005tt.JPGBEAR-COMMISIONS-001tt.JPGI have been making bears for just over a year and a half now and it is only in the last few months that I have been more pleased with what I am doing.I have always aimed to have the quality there from the start but it is a case of trying to get a look that you are happy with.I have posted two examples-mind you they are only heads at the moment bear_whistle I like this style although my favourite style are my traditional bears.Even though I feel like I have turned a corner I am never satisfied with what I do and always feel that there is room for improvement although that can be a good thing as you aim never to stop learning.I think that the recent post on early bears and recent bears was great as it can be disheartening for many people who start out thinking that they would never be able to reach the standard of some bear makers and it goes to show that we all have to start somewhere and if you keep trying you will get there in the end. bear_thumb
