For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
He looks great,
love his paws and also the scissor sculpting you did on his face!
Hugs, Ariane
Probear! D'Oh, why didn't I think of them, too? I mean.. I browsed through their mohair before...I should have noticed the lpaca too Thanks for remembering me!
Joanne, thanks for posting this instructions, I now was finally able to actually FIND the Alpaca - and they even have the tipped one I'M looking for *_* Thanks so much, this will be surely something I buy - next month when I have some money again lol
Big Hugs to anybody, Ariane
I've noticed some bears that were made of Alpaca and the fur looks so soft and gorgeous, I'd like to try it.
I took a look at Intercal's website, but find their navigation rather difficult, so I wanted to know if anybody of you could point me to other sites that sell Alpaca, I'd love to have some with two colors (different baking than fur or different tips), like the one Sue from TeddyBuys used for her "Buddy" (http://www.teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=37504), something like that.
Your help would be really appreciated!
Hugs, Ariane
Oh wow, gorgeous creation! I love the shape of his muzzle and his eyes!
Hugs, Ariane
Aww,
his face is just gorgeous - he absolutely looks like a prince
Hugs, Ariane
Aww, I love his face!
Thanks for all the input.
I think I'll use the granulate material for the bears I plan to keep then... And will buy stainless steel or glass beads^^

Cool! Did you get my PM?
No, I didn't get your pm. Could you re-send it please?
Hugs, Ariane
Asian fabrics? *_* I loooove asian fabrics xD
Thanks for your comment Janice.
This makes totally sense for me.... I think I'll go with a German blog then - if I have new bears available, I'll surely also post them here on TT so you'll be able to see the details here, too.
Hugs, Ariane
Hey Cindy,
another main selling place you might want to check out is Bearpile (www.bearpile.com). There you can display your bears.
You pay 9.99$/Month for this service, but it's worth the cost!
Hope I could help.
Hugs, Ariane
It surely works out for others to write in their own language, but... as I'm most often in the English speaking part of the Bear community (and ofter have the problem to find the correct German term when explaining something to my mother as I always read/use the English ones  ), I thought about being nice to the English people here lol
Should be better for my sales, shouldn't it? When the English speaking people can read anything about the bear without having to work out what exactly this should mean.....
Or am I thinking too complicated?
Hugs, Ariane
Hi Brenda,
thanks for the input.
I took a look at your blog and tried the translator, but the translation is really weird....
Hm.. I might incorporate some kind of translator nevertheless for my German text.. And then maybe for the bears that I want to sell.. add the description in English, too, becuase I don't want the translator to totally mess up with it.
What do you think of this method?
Hugs, Ariane
Yes, I know. I tried it on the ebearz course form English to German - well, it translated the whole page, but word for word and without taking into consideration that there are words with different meanings... The sentences were funny but hadn't much sense, so I'm not sure if I like this idea for the English speaking people who find my blog...
Google translate?... gah, gives some funny sentences - but nothing similar to what's actually written there, does it?
Hey^^
So, now that I have decided that my bears are good enough to be sold and that I've decided on a name for my little "business", I wanted to create a blog to show off my work and stuff like that, but - there is one question I couldn't answer.
I enjoy reading blogs to see new creations and get to know the artists - but then I see the blogs of Russian artists for example that are written in a language I can't read & that is kind of disappointing..
My first intention was to write my blog in German as this is my mother tongue. But on the other hand, English speaking people wouldn't be able to read this... I surely can write in English, but writing in German is much faster. I also could write in French (as my mother's French), but well.... Or I could write both in German and English....
What do you say about this? Is there any advice you could give me?
Hugs, Ariane
Hi Marianne,
another supplier I didn't know - thank you very much! I'll surely try them out as I'm working on a special project for my mother's birthday and will need other joints for this one, too. And the accessories look great, too *_*
Thanks again, Ariane
Hey, it's me again^^
I took a look at my stash, but half of it is packed away I don't know where... <.<' I KNOW for sure I have some mini bear fabrics in unusual colors, but they're not where I supposed them to be.. Well, we have about 60 big boxes here with stuff in it, so it will take a pretty long time to find everything.... I'll come back to you when I find all those pieces and have something ready to be shipped to you.
For the moment, I'd be glad to accept your give-away offer. I'm pretty bad at guessing how much goes into a box... But I can pay up to 25$ dollars for this shipping if this is of any help?
I also wanted to ask you if you have a certain style of mohair/faux fur/synthetic. I'm working on a life sized meerkat plush for my mother's birthday and am not sure if I have the right fabric for it. I mean, I have hunted down a piece in the right color that was kindly given to me, but it won't be enough for a life sized one, I think. So, I was wondering if you have any a bit bigger piece of fur in a color similar to the main color of a meerkat (grey-brown? Hard to describe) with a quite smallish pile length(under 1cm?) that you'd be willing to part with?
Hugs, Ariane
No problem,
you're doing ME a favor so I can pay the shipping, that's just naturally!
I can't help with glass eyes, I have to stock up on those too... And joints..well, I have some kind of cotter pins, very small and some even smaller (for micro bears, I suppose). If I only knew where they are..<.<'' You see, we moved last month so they must be somewhere in a box of some kind....
I'll take a look at my stash of fabric to see if I have some unusual colors I can part with. Is there a certain length you prefer?
But as it's in the middle of the night here in Germany, I will go to bed now and see what I have tomorrow
Hugs, Ariane
Hey,
I don't think that I would have very much to offer to you for a trade, I've just recently started in having a collection of mohair fabrics (with the kind help of some generous TTer's), but if there are special colors you're looking for, I could take a look at my stash and see what I have for you.
If I don't have anything you want, I'd totally be interested in the give-away you mentioned
I think it's great that you are so generous! The shipping from the USA to Germany should be affordable for me, if we don't use the fastest shipping method....
Hugs and thanks in advance, Ariane
Awww, gorgeous face!
Thanks for the link, SueAnn, I'll take a look at these and the other things they have. Might buy something from them. For now (e.g. for the Basic Bear Boot Camp Bear I'm making), I'll use what I have here to add weight to my bears feet/tummy
Hugs, Ariane
I think that's a good point, I hadn't thought about this...
Well, these little "stones" aren't dirty, are they?
Glass beads like... beads that you use in beading? or something different? We have one crafty store here that sells glass beads but they are kind of pricey and I better like to use them for my beading projects....
I plan to buy some stainless steel shot, but haven't found a good online shop with good prices....
Hugs, Ariane
Me again,
Yesterday, I stumbled across an online shop for bear materials selling "mineral granulate material" as filling for bears, to add weight. Stuff like that: http://www.vega-direct.at/IMAGE_POOL/wg … 9794_2.jpg
I'm wondering if it CAN be used in Teddy Bears or if there is anything that speaks against it. I've bought some of this stuff already for another project and have lots of it I wouldn't use in any other way so I was thinking about giving it ago.
Anybody tried this?
Hugs, Ariane
