Mine is not to take on too much this year.
Oh GEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I hate this part !!! It will be the same thing as last year .......... GET RID OF THIS FAT !!!!!
Apart from Glenn's health problems, 2006 was a pretty good year for me.
I was a good girl and finished the year by preparing for my 2007 classes...AND I made my December deadline with ABC, which was a huge relief!
With a bit more streamlining, 2007 should be an even better year...I really need to empty this brain a bit and get some more patterns down on template!
As for resolutions?
1. Manage my time better. Sorry girls as much as I love you all, that also means less time spent with you!
2. Change my eating habits...less chocolate and more vegetables!
3. Get dressed before I switch on the computer and start working!!!

Judi: the other night on te PBS statioin they had the ballroom dancing championships. Did you see it? I can see why they are considering adding it as a sport to the olympics....Just so much fun to watch.
Yep after years of putting up with it, I realised I don't have to and don't need to let people that don't treat me well inot my life. Unfortunately this will involve family as well but with strength and patience I will move forward.
Well, my New Year's resolution has been well and truly dashed. I had planned to start a new life with my partner in our first home together, but yesterday I heard that the buyers of my house have pulled out, so now we're right back to square one.
Oh Paula I am so sorry.. Your New Year's Reso can still happen - it'll just take a bit longer - there will be a more perfect house for the two of you, I just know it!

Have to agree there Paula sometimes things happen for a reason and altho it seems like asetback it is a door to a better thing.
Oh Paula, that's a shame, I'm so sorry for you.  That buying and selling houses is a nightmare.
But as they say, 'where one door closes, another one opens...' Usually when it's me the door is slammed in my face before I even get to it, one of my nan's friends always says 'You're definitely jinxed!!' My life NEVER runs swimmingly!!
   I may write a book......
The only way is up.......surely!!!
ooh Clare love your new Avatar.
Maybe we could callaborate on that book as well eh?
Decided I wouldn't make any resolutions after I failed miserably with the one I made for 2006. Remember the losing weight challenge? AAAAACCCKKKK!
Oh paula, that sucks.
SueAnn, I think you look perfect anyway! HA!
I've been pretty good at keeping my resolutions. Still working onthe weight loss from last year, but these things take time. As long as I'm not getting fatter, life is good.
This year, my resolution is to find more female friends. I have such a large group of friends, but they are all boys and the older I get the more I crave some proper girl chat, and although it's good here, it's not enough.
it's hard though, I don't get along will all girls. wish me luck, and if you have any suggestions.............
maybe start a bear club ?
Hi All,
I usually don't make resolutions, but next year I want to make more bears! I have so many in my head that need to be designed & created! I resolve to be more productive with my computer time & spend more time making bears.
Happy New Years!
Amy
I resolve to make no resolutions!!!!!
Hugs &
SueAnn instead of making a resolution to lose weight what about one to get healthier? ANd take it in small steps. One week start walking the second week add a few minutes more, the third week cut down on the number of times you have something you really shouldn't. So its not a huge shock to thesystem and it isn't quite as drastic.
Don't do reso's - think I tried one year but never went to plan - so I reckon the best reso is never to start one in the first place, can't go wrong then
Amy, the bear in your avatar is gorgeous!!!
Thank you Clare!
Hi name is Lucky GoestoHeaven. He was a challenge bear I did for Teddy Bear & Friends Magazine (Dec 06) It was an angel challenge. They provided a pattern, designed by Evelyn Penfield. We were given no instructions, only that it needed a halo & wings. I decided that a lucky bear that became an angel would be well-loved with fresh new halo & wings, therefore he is old with scratched eyes, & some boo-boos here & there. He even is carrying a bell because "Teacher says: Every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings". per Zuzu in "It's A Wonderful Life."

'I think I should try to establish a common ground between me and my dad.'
Hi Melanie Jayne this is something I have tried with my dad - we have never communicated well. I bought him a guide to writing his life story which he got involved in and then I wrote it all up on the computer for him. It gave me great insight into his life and where he was coming from. We still don't communicate that well but it has been a great start. I notice that you are from lancashire. I was born in Mnachester and I oftten think this uncommunicativeness(!) is very much an English thing.
My resolution is to follow the flylady and get some order into my life! I also am determined to sell one bear this year and enter a competition. tell my husband every day how much I love and appreciate him, not get cranky when he is late home (which is just about every time he comes home), get some activity (physical) happening in my life and to enjoy each day and count my blessings.

What a great idea!
Melanie,
My parents were British and my dad didn't have a great relationship with any of us (4 children). He worked two jobs most of the time to make ends meet and frankly, I don't think he had many skills with children. Mum did 99.9% of the childrearing. Things were particularly bad between my sister and my dad and I believe it was because they were soooo much alike. My mum died suddenly of a heart attack 11 years ago, and my eldest sister died two months later. It left the three remaining siblings to cope with my very cantankerous 80 year old dad and he lived 5 1/2 years, after mum died. I thought it was going to be a disaster, as I really didn't "know" him at all, but strange as it sounds, I think it was meant to be. We gradually developed a relationship with him and got him to talk about his life as a child etc. and lots of other stories, including the war. He also told us about his little brother that died at 11years old. It had always been very hush hush. We had to tread lightly, as he wasn't always willing to open up, but if we could just plant the seed at the right time, you could see him blossom like a flower. We learned lots of family history that would have been lost, so I always think of t hose years as a gift. My mum and I were always close and I miss her every day, but those five years of getting to know my day were definitley special. Keep trying with your dad - you might find it's worth the effort.
hugs,
Brenda
