I would like to get into more detailed airbrushing for my bears!!

What airbrush system do you use Judi????

Hi Claire.  I think my bears really took on  a life of thier own when I worked up the nerve to actually airbrush on them.  I went to school for airbrush art in 1983, right out of high school , and became certifted in 1984.  I used to do piantings and airbrushings on denim jackets.  I also learned photo retouching.  ...but I created bears for a few years before Iactaully started airbrushing on them. I am glad I finally did it.
I learned on a Paasche H which I swear by even to this day.  I have also used a Paasche VL, Badger,  and Thayer-Chandler...I still end up gping back to my Paasche every time.

Airbrushing is a technique that really requires some kind of training or instruction to really get a good handle on it.  There is so much more than just learning how to control and master the paint flow but also on how to prepare paints and how to get over the many stumbling blocks like blocked paint flow, sputtering, or uneven paint flow.  God Bless anyone who can just pick it up and go.  There is a lot to learn about layering and building up the color slowly.  So often I have seen work that looks heavy...applied to quickly.

I hope I am not rambling on here.  I'd be happy to assist anyone who wants to get started.

Definitely not rambling there Judi  bear_thumb  I'm taking notes, and wondering about the airbrushing course now  bear_happy   I'd love to add 'shading' to my real fur bears, and the airbrushing has always fascinated me...

Debbie, Airbrushing works wonderfully on real fur bears.  It is a bit more of a challenge as the real fur tends to blow around a lot but well worth the effort.  I'd be happyt help you any way I can. bear_thumb  bear_flower  bear_wub

Thanks PIPA!!! bear_wub

No not scary. Just not interesting.
Some how I feel rather sad knowing the trick you pull to make such sensational critters.
I mean lets face it. You are a magician with that spray painter of yours.  bear_thumb
