Hi everyone, I hope this photo works. I made a silk embroidery bear out of an old coat . It was great fun, but of course there are always things you'd change on the next one. I still have an old fur coat that's waiting to be cut. I'm really glad others found this challenge fun. Forget the date, keeping going girls.
thanks

I would like to post a challenge for the summer.
How about making a new bear from something old. I have a couple of fellas I have to make out of my cousin's grandmother's coat. Maybe having a challenge posted will motivate me to get busy. Something old can be new again. Let's see some photos for some time in September.

I absolutely love the little pooch. I am so thankful for this group. I'm part of a group here in Ottawa called the Grizzly Gang. Unfortunately it's looking like this might be our last year. It's nice to know I can come to teddy talk for my sanity breaks and inspiration
thanks

Well if its good enough for the boots what about the mitts. With all the cold weather we've been having in Ottawa, I've been thinking of this for quite a while.

Hi gang
I was wondering if we're gonna have a swap over the summer. If so, I'd love to take part
LOL

Hi Deb
Long time no see. These guys are absolutely of your family. I'd know them anywhere. I brought your swap bear to the show at the RA. If I wanted to sell him, which will never happen, I could have done so many times over.
Hang in there girl. Stiff joints may slow us down but they'll never stop us, RIGHT!
Luv ya

Have you thought of a group project. Maybe working on something their grandfather would've enjoyed doing. Maybe putting together a photo book or collage for the memorial service, show some of the projects he helped them with. It brings back the good memories and gets people telling their favourite stories, and helps you get through a trying time. I often feel a presence of a lost loved one when I'm working on something they would've enjoyed doing.
And since you make bears, how about a memorial bear, later, make him a characature of their grandad or make him out of a favourite coat or blanket, get the idea. Hang in there. It's the good memories that will remain.
My prayers are with your family

I just love the lighter of the 2 bears, I would call him Ambearto, Maybe I'm wrong but his eyes look to be amber. Do you mind me asking what a fella like him would go for. I absolutely love him. I think he's my favourite of the bears you have done. Good luck at the show.

My swap bear is a summer project. I plan to let the summer magic inspire me. No rush for me either.
Right now I having fun with carpenter ants over my kitchen window, and ground hogs under my front step. I caught the baby, now I have to work on the mama. I'm told that's going to be the real challenge. Wish me luck

Thanks Sophie, that was great. I envy you such a wonderful show. I dream of finding a jumeau that needs a little help. I also do some doll repair. It is so satisfying.

nematodes, great little grub killers right, these grubs grow into June bugs? the grubs are quite a problem in Ottawa, especially during the dry summer months. Go for it kid, all the best

great news. Her positive attitude is the best medicine of all. I've had a few people have to deal with cancer. As far as knowing what to say I feel most of them just need a good ear sometimes but not always. They are still the same person and still enjoy the same things they did before. Talk to her about her crafting projects and yours. Don't forget to find the laughter as often as possible. It's appropriate and it does help. My prayers are also with you.

I'm sure he'll keep it all under his hat, he has a very loyal, patient face. I love him.
