For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Check CR Crafts. They have a lot of accessories. http://www.crscrafts.com/
There is a way to get info like a phone number for someone who won one of your auctions. Go to my messages on your my ebay. On the left it says find and contact member. I would try to phone her to make sure she is OK. Might be a computer problem or sickness.
Daphne, I make some small dogs and have found some leather bracelets at firemountaingems that come in brown and black. They have a nice D ring in the center for a tag. The more you buy the less they cost.

Hi Marion,
Your blog is beautiful. The photographs are wonderful and your dress is gorgeous. I'm afraid I have no suggestions for hair - I keep mine very short because I am not very good at styling. I am adding your blog to my list.

I decided to chime in because nobody has mentioned needle felted noses. I have never really been happy with my embroidered noses, especially on my dogs. I really like the look I get with a needle felted nose. It usually doesn't take long to do them, even felted very firm.

I normally don't post just read but looking at everyone's pets made my day!
The pregnant Dachshund brought back very fond memories as I bred Doxies for 25 yrs. It wasn't unusual for their tummies to drag the ground towards the end. I just have 2 girls left Lexi, the wirehair, and Lucy, the chocolate & tan smooth.
The second pic was my Christmas card from Florida.
Hi all,
I haven't posted in awhile but I actually have two Christmas critters done. The first is "Bubba does Christmas"The poor fellow is having trouble decorating. The second is "Rudy the Reindog". He comes with his sleigh full of dog bones for all good doggies.

I have used kool-aid on white mohair. Here are some of my results. Yellow-lemon, Blue - Berry Blue, Pink-Pink Lemonade. I couldn't get the purple I wanted with kool-aid, so the purple one is dyed with rit.
My green Frankenweiner was dyed with Lemon-lime. The colors come out very vivid. I have purchased orange and strawberry but haven't tried them yet.

The only place I can find where I can set the size and units is "Canvas size" under image. It doesn't generate a box. If I use the crop tool I can crop but not in the correct size. I know it's probably something simple but I get so frustrated with programs I am almost in tears. I looked up some tutorials but they just confused me more. The help in the program is not helpful at all.

I have been trying to take some pics for printing. I think I finally have my light tent and lights set up. Now I go to my photo software(Jasc Paintshop). How do you crop and resize to get 4x6 prints??? When I try to resize after cropping I can't figure out how to get the proper size so the prints don't come out with a head cut off but come out the size I want. My camera has a setting to match the 3:2 ratio for photo printing but can be set to 6M,3M, or 2M.

Thanks everybody! I will try all suggestions and see which I like best.

Does anyone know how to achieve the realistic looking flat ears on dogs and cats? The ones I have seen look like they are lined in wool felt maybe-- but fused(?) with the mohair.
Thanks,

This is a question for everyone that sells on ebay. I have been selling there for over 6 years. I sell everything from toys to tools and I have over 1500 pos feedback. I am thinking of using a differant id for selling my critters. My user id does not reflect my Teddy Bear business name and I feel my critter auctions get lost in my other auctions. It would mean starting from scratch as far as feedback but I hope it wouldn't be long before they started to add up. Should I register a new user id "dogpatchcritters"?

You can rinse it and start over. At least Kool aid is inexpensive. You can do it several times to get the color you want.

Did you use hot water? The directions I have say 2 cups hot water. Add 1/4-1/2 cup of white vinegar. If you want the backing dyed the same color add 2 tbsp salt. Add your mohair and knead gently. Rinse them in cold water. Check them for even dyeing. Lay them out on a towel or drying rack. I use several packets of kool aid at a time to get a really strong color.

Frankie is made from kool aid dyed mohair. His "brow" and nose are needle felted. He has black glass eyes and green ultrasuede paw pads. My hubby drilled holes in Frankie's leather collar so I could add nuts and bolts. He also donated the spring for the tail.

Hubby and I both love the show. It is really well written, funny, and dramatic. Something rare in the current tv fare(too much reality for me). Of course the fact the star is [INVALID] and good looking doesn't hurt(don't tell hubby )

About 7 years ago my doctor was worried I was too thin. I was told I could eat all the Ben & Jerry's I wanted-it was practically an RX. My favorite Phish Food, chocolate ice cream with marshmellow and caramel swirls and little dark choc fish-mmmmmmmmmmmm
Since that "change of life" thing the opposite is true. Now I even have to watch my cholesterol I don't wanna grow up.

I just LOVE looking at pics of pets!
The girls are Lexi(wirehaired Dachshund) & Lucy(choc & tan smooth Dachshund) Lucy is registered as Lucious Godiva.
Doodlebug is a pound puppy. He was at least five when adopted and blind in one eye. He is now about 14 , totally blind and deaf. He depends on the girls to help him out.
I needed to post just to see my critters. Neat idea!

Well Down here in Titusville, FL everyone is waiting for the shuttle launch. Sat, the first day it was supposed to go up, everyone lined Rt 1 along the Indian River to watch. There was a collective "AWWWWW" when launch was scrubbed then a tremendous traffic jam. We can actually see the launch from our yard so I don't know if we will fight the crowds tommorow for a better view.
Today, my brother and his family are coming to visit. POOL TIME
