I couldnt get on yesterday either and when I did all of my message were highlighted, whether they had new posts or not.... strange!

Holly.JPGHere is a pic of my first real fur bear (mink)

Who knew that they would have black fiberfill!  Wow, this is new to me!  I will have to remember this!

kbonsall

LMAO  you crack me up... I think I am on too much!!!

kbonsall

AWWWW i love the little white pup!!!! that is what i want to make!!!

kbonsall

I should have mentioned the "bigger holes"  I also keep the stuffing holes towards the ankle so the foot doesn't have to come through the skinny part of the leg... it depends on how long the fur is too (I have only made two real fur bears but this is what I have encountered so far...)

kbonsall

I want to try to make puppies... a Pomeranian in particular but dont know where to start or where to find material that looks like a pom would....

kbonsall

I created a mouse, well, started out as a bear but looked more like a mouse when i attached the ears so I decided "why fight it" so i stuck a squiggly tail in the tush and now it is a mouse!!! LOL bear_grin

Funny you should mention that!  I just purchased some scrapbooking embellishments on Friday online and was intending to use them on my bears!  Wow, great minds think alike!

answer to your question, no I dont scrap book... however, i do have a scrap book for my wedding photos... never got around to it...

kbonsall

I use a hemostats and sometimes I use a crochet hook (the non-hook end) to push it through, VERY VERY carefully though.... that is my suggestion, maybe someone else has a better idea??

kbonsall

ok... it went away now... strange...

kbonsall

Is everyone elses whole forum highligthed like they are all new messages?

kbonsall

Both!  I use really strong upholstry thread and put a little glue underneath just before tying (you can't glue after tying, it will be too tight)

kbonsall

I take a cotter pin and make turn it to a snail (like if you were jointing a bear) and then stick it into the fimo clay ball and shape the nose and bake.... then after cooling, of course, I lacquer it and viola, a nose!

kbonsall

Good point about the allergy thing.. My hubby opened the box that the bear was in (that was scented) and he got a headache...he actually put it back in the box and across the room!

kbonsall

hmmm... that is a dilly of a pickle... I just dont want to use something that will damage or stain...

kbonsall

I just received a bear in the mail last month and I opened the box and the bear actually was scented!  Does anyone know how to scent a bear?  I was pondering this but cannot seem to come up with anything...

kbonsall

I dont know what happened to my fimo clay beads from high school... that is actually a good question... hmmm...  Recently, I have made fimo noses for my bears... it is funny how things are connected.  Who knew that in high school my hobby would turn into bear making!  LOL  I will send more pics when I get a better camera... i promise!

kbonsall

I use to make jewelry in high school, anything from sterling silver to fimo clay beads.... I love any kind of art that is 3-D.... Purty ring!

kbonsall

from personal experience, instead of taking tylenol or advil, I first drink water and 99% out of 100 times it goes away... i am bad about not drinking enough, I know that!  I wish I could get into the habit of drinking more.... but my husband (who is an EMT) says that you can also "overdose" on drinking too much, your body can't handle it....

kbonsall

I am interested - but I need a website first... I will let you know when I get to that point!!!

kbonsall

I love the red hair on both of your creations!!!! I love red hair!

kbonsall

I like the little piggy snout!!!  Just remember, this is a Test head and it is serving its purpose... believe me, I have a test head... or should I say it became one!!!

kbonsall

What is a good camera, or should I say a good camera at a reasonable price?  I am just starting out and cannot afford a $400.00 camera yet.  The digital camera that I have does not show fine detail and doesn't show my work very well..... HELP!!!
