Beautiful...and he looks soooo cuddly!!!  bear_wub

Helena

Aww, what a sweet little smiley face!  bear_wub

Helena

He's wonderful Dilu!!! And his little beary friend  bear_original . I just love the way you've dressed him!  bear_thumb

Helena

Thanks for all the lovely comments! I'm blushing....

I think it was just a long hard 'birth' bear_tongue . Hubby took another look at him last night, and said 'well, what do I know anyway?!'. LOL. I think we all see different things in our bears and critters.

Helena

Oh, she's lovely! Possibly one of my favourites of yours...but it's hard to choose  bear_grin . She has a very gentle, soft look about her and you did a wonderful job of her muzzle, as always  bear_wub

cat.jpgThankyou Ellen!

My buyer has written to say she'd love to adopt him - yay! She thinks he looks a lot like her own cat, which I'll include a photo of....it's this photo I was trying to work to. What do you think???

Helena

My hubby helps a lot around the home, but I do find that certain jobs are left entirely to me. Which has been ok because I'm home full-time (looking after our daughter) but now that I'm doing more bear-making I'm run ragged some days! Mind you, hubs works hard so I can't complain.

So where I used to dust & vacuum every day, it's less often now. Hubby hasn't even noticed! He also does his own laundry (comes of living on his own for years) and often does the ironing. And he's a dab hand at clearing up the kitchen. Dilu, I'm like you - i do things as I go along. Clean the sink while I'm using the bathroom in the morning, or clean the cooker hob while I'm waiting for the kettle to boil. Multi-tasking at it's best! The thought of cleaning for a few hours solid scares the wits out of me...eek! So I prefer to do it as I go along....

011.jpg007.jpgA buyer asked me to make her a teeny cat and Lil' Paul is the result. He's not as cute as I would have liked...actually, according to my hubby he's not that cute at all!  bear_cry But he is my very first puddy tat, so therefore a prototype with plenty of room for improvement....  bear_tongue

Lil' Paul stands just 2.75" tall, has glass eyes and feels quite weighty due to the addition of steel shot.

I'm soooo unsure about this little one. I've told my buyer that she is not committed to buy, but I'm hoping she'll like him just enough...!!!

Helena

Gosh, if the viruses don't get you then the hoaxes will!!!  bear_grin

Helena

There's a way to peek in your e-mails before you open them --- right click on the e-mail, choose 'properties' and then click on the details tab. There's a 'message source' button that opens another window, and you can read the text in this without (as far as I know) opening the e-mail in the usual sense.....

I always do this for dodgy e-mails, and as soon as I see the word viagra it goes straight in the bin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin

I just found a link that describes this in more detail, and gives a couple more tips: http://surfthenetsafely.com/reademailsafely.htm

Wow, thanks Kim!!! I keep meaning to add my eBay ID to my signature.

*waves to anne* Get back to work!!!!

On the sixth day of Christmas
My Bear Maker gave to me
Six squares of longpile

FIVE GOLDEN TEDDY AWARDS!!!!!

Four  gorgeous gollies
Three Threaded Teddies
Two Growling Bears  and
a mohair Ted with steele shot!

Helena

Aah, this must be the virus my dad was trying to tell me about. I kept telling him I never open anything remotely suspicious but he kept insisting that this was a bad one, worse than that others....

Thanks Debbie!

Helena

He's probably trying to 'hide' them by moving around the catagories....  bear_rolleyes

Helena

I have very little experience of dyeing fabric, but have been following this thread....I can imagine how frustrating this is for you, Shelli! I did a little digging around and came across this site: http://www.pburch.net/dyeing/FAQ/washingmachine.shtml . Dylon is mentioned on this page, and further down there's mention of the type of detergent that should be used??! Hmm. No idea if this will be any use to you but I thought it worth passing along.

Fingers crossed for your next experiment!  bear_grin

Helena

She's lovely!!! You dress your bears soooo nicely and this one is no exception....she looks fantastic in her sea-shell with the coral and other things around her. Your buyer will be thrilled, I'm sure!

How did you do the legs in the end? Is her tail attached?

I hope your Christmas preparations are going well, Anne. We're busy, busy, busy here!

I've been watching the news, Jane, and the satellite photos show a huge plume of smoke drifting across North London and beyond. It looks dreadful, and I'm amazed no one has lost their life in this incident. The eye witness reports are horrific, especially from the men who were in the actually in the yard of the site when the explosion happened...

They say it'll burn a few days  bear_sad

I think part of the problem here is that if, in fact, this ebay account is hijacked

This is the way it looks to me too, Shelli. I feel so sorry for the person whose account it was originally. And I think I'm right in saying that one of the ways an account can be hijacked is if an unsuspecting member answers a scam e-mail that appears to come from eBay itself... You know the kind... 'Your account details need to be updated. Please click here and enter enter your ID and password etc etc' It's worth pointing out that all legitimate e-mails from eBay will also be found in the messages section of 'your account', not just in your e-mail inbox. So it's always wise to double check e-mails that seem to come from eBay.

Anyway, it's my guess that the poor member in Germany answered an e-mail like that and had their details used against them. Aargh. Their feedback was good until this point.

Thankfully the offending auctions have now been pulled. But it's good to know we can all keep a close eye on this sort of thing and help each other!

Helena

I love all the snow photos! So crisp and bright and clean looking....very pretty! I do hope we have snow for Christmas (but hopefully not before then, cos I hate driving in it and having to do all the routine stuff  bear_laugh ).

Penny - if you get Most Haunted round your way, I'll be there like a flash  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin

avatar.jpgAww, Amanda...just for you, here's the waving bear again!

I love your new avatar by the way. I think it's nice to have a change now and again!

Helena

Sorry to hear you've been in this situation, Jenny. I've had a few tricky transactions myself but they have always been resolved. Luckily I've never met a seller as difficult to approach as yours sounds! In this case I would definitely leave negative feedback and suffer the consequences. She might not be around on eBay for much longer (if other buyers report her too) so any negative feedback she leaves you will have 'NARU' by her name (NARU = 'not a registered user' and means the member has been suspended for breaking rules).

Pity about the coat though - it must have been a disappointment  bear_sad

Helena

Mmm....sounds delicious  bear_thumb . Nothing beats a good homemade rice pud  bear_wub

Helena

You're right Kim...scary is the word. But also quite amazing. We've been trying to work out exactly when some of the photos were taken (the site says it's within the last three years) by checking for building works and so on.  bear_cool

Helena

I've just downloaded the free version of Google Earth and feel like I'm floating through space!!!  bear_grin I've been visiting our own house, spying on friends and relatives....and taking a peek at the Great Wall of China! If you want to join me on my travels just visit here: http://earth.google.com/ .

It certainly makes you wonder what exactly these satellite photos are needed for. Apart from fancy bits of software, that is....  bear_ermm

Helena

He's just adorable Stephanie! your fabric choice, pattern, everything! I don't see how you can possibly improve him....but I'll look forward to finding out!!!

Sabine - that's a very cute dragon you crocheted!

Amanda - loooove your little clay dragons  bear_thumb
