i received the photos, are you sure the "Se" is really an "S" could it be a "G"?
Here she is finished.
I am working on making an original pattern now and learning how to make hearts because my dd6 wants a bear with hearts for the ears, nose, tummy and on paw pads. Big order! for someone who doesn't know what she is doing yet!
Paws are almost done, went back several times yet again and tried to place muzzle properly so it wasn't crooked. Well that didn't work so I made a new muzzle with a different mouth and holy cow would you guess the nose is off SO I am keeping on it like that! This bear wants her mouth to be that way then so be it! I put on the safety eyes and didn't like them so took them and put different ones on them. YES I was able to get the safety eyes off since it is a crochet peice and I just had to pull it over the eye. That plus my multi-tool and a tiny screw driver gets the back off so I can use the eye again!!!! I adore my multi-tool, that and my other knife I never leave home without!
So small black eyes are on and almost done with foot then sew them on. then the tail.
I did a lot of changes to this pattern and I did write down my original work so I don't forget what I did.
My girls want what I made with rainbow colors!!! Oh this should be interesting. we'll see though, I'd like to make them one but I would prefer continuing with this thought and creating my own.
I am unable to see it even in photoshop. I would recommend getting a magnifying glass at the pharmacy should be a $5-$10 and well worth it. Use it on the fabric to see if there is still ink deep in the fabric that you are unable to see with the naked eye. I use this method for searching through ancestry documents and it helps a lot.
Guitar teacher, Gibson Guitar .... equals the bear's name is Gibson!!!! I love it! (yes I was a metal head as a teen and yes I strummed a guitar or two but never learned to play, did like to watch others play though so that was "cool" enough!)
Great bear!

Are letters together to make one word or does it look like they are separate. Don't mind what I wrote up top, it's just for my reference when searching google. :)
would it be possible for you to take as close a picture as you can of the foot and send it to me. I have photoshop and might be able to zoom in even closer to get a better look. PM me if it's too big to put on here. And where was it purchased USA or UK?
I am new so I have nothing to show. I wanted to say that I feel in love with puck and am a huge fan of the correct # of paws/paw pads! All of these bears on here are just wonderful! Great job everyone!
I am currently stuck, in the process of working on the house and hoping to finish the paws tonight. I had to take out several rows from the first paw i did because I realized i didn't write down that part of the pattern...Oh I am so mommy brain fried!
But all is well, I wrote it all down correctly and in hopes to finish both. Then reset the muzzle yet again, then do the tail which shouldn't take long.
I crochet, are you a beginner?
Do you have any books on crochet? I'd be happy to help you out!
Are you looking for a crochet bear, I can look and see about finding a simple one. If you are new then simple is best right just to get the hang of reading instructions.
Also the "Dummies" site is great to search for something and it will help you with what you ask it for.
These are great tools and I am happy that the "dummies" site has it!
This is also a small book but very very helpful. I have both the dummies book and the crochet answer book
Please feel free to ask away! I'll look for a pattern
So sorry to hear about her trauma. I would still keep an eye out for any blood in her urine or poop around the house, any blood at all could signal internal trauma. Not trying to scare you, just be careful. (i can not help speaking up, it's the old Vet Tech in me!)
also check her mouth in case she tried using it to get out and damaged her teeth or cut herself inside there. Most likely you wont see a cut but you would see redness or infection.
I am sure she is gets lots of love love love!
Thank you, all of this info is very encouraging and eye opening.
I am currently using someones pattern to help me learn how to create my own. I agree that using someone elses helps you learn and I will say that it is hard to do. I have an old book that teaches about patterns plus I'm going to go to the library and get a few more books about patterns so I can learn even more. I have created a pattern for a bears paw that I think is cute and the pattern isn't perfect but it's mine!
My problem is, is that I better the pattern I just made that I say is mine, someone else has created to, so how is it "mine" or how is it "theirs". I have read about people having the same pattern for something and they claim it's theirs so how do you prove that it's yours and if you buy a book with a pattern in it and it doesn't say you can't sell it why can't you use it for profit? Just curious about this part.
This whole pattern thing is very confusing. I wouldn't want someone taking my stuff either and using it for profit so how to we make sure that no one steals it. OR How can I say you took that from me when they might have had the same idea and did the exact same thing? How can you tell?
Hopefully your friend will realize she is wrong.
I have a Singer sewing machine model 27. It's old and its not electric but it works!!!
I needed a new copy of my manual and checked out the Singer site and guess what it was there and it was free!
There are many other manuals for free to download so I thought I would pass this on so others can see if theirs is free!
Can ya take a picture anyway!
The bear sounds so cute!!!
After realizing that I didn't like the foot that the pattern said and figured out that the pattern has errors in it I came up with my own. I have never created a pattern before and boy is it a pain in the butt. But it's mine and I like it!
Bears as well all know have 7 pads. 5 for the claws, 1 big one right under the claws and 1 circular one at the heel. Well I have seen my fair share of bears and I know some put 3 stitches to create a "paw" look and some use 4 stitches. I find them all very cute! I really wanted to make my bears paw resemble a real paw and thus I put 5 stitches so it looked more like a real bear.
I used Triple Crochet to create the length, I think next time I will go a bit longer. I used a tan color for the main color and a cream color to create the paw effect. There is some hdc and sc in there as well.
The original pattern is in SC but I needed to use HDC in order to make sure there were no "holes". HDC I feel fills in the "hole" better, SC doesn't do that unless you get them very very tight.
My plan is to create a bear that is in hdc so I will for sure be able to use this paw pattern for another bear I create!
I have done several things to adjust this pattern. I found that the body is way to thin at top and the head mounted on top looks like a deer more than a big thick bear so adjusting !!!
I have learned that all peices be done THEN add them, not go by the directions when it say do muzzle and add on to head. I did this and next time I wont do this. I'll do all of them first then start adding them on.
I had the muzzle on and placed the ears in the center of the head and realized the muzzle is off. DH said wow what have you done to this Frankenstein bear? (i had the muzzle off again). I said it has to be reset yet again.
At least I know for next time!
I am brandy new at this... my first bear to be exact! I did get to AC Moore and bought some animal eyes small, large and medium. I have the body, head and muzzle in place. I put the eyes on the face and asked dd6 what she liked. Naturally she liked the very large eyes and said it made a softer tough to the bear that "isn't here yet". I said ok but what about the rest? I will quote my dd6.... "mama why don't you wait till she is finished and then see what she says she wants?"
So that is what I am going to do!
clarebear, if you can do a granny square you can follow the basics! Trust me you will do fine in making a bear out of Single Crochet(SC). Keep working on learning! Google granny square teddy bear and see if that pulls up some hits, you might have to go to more than just page one but look and see what they have.
I fixed the muzzle, here is the front view (some stuffing taken out to flatten the look a bit)
This is a side view. It really does look different from the above pic, I prefer this one at least for now with this bear.
Thank YOu! Hopefully the sewing will get better! I'm working on the legs now
Aww thank you ! I will look!
I have to admit, dh saw it and was teasing me saying it didn't look right. After he left I looked at it and truly didn't like the muzzle. It looked too much like a Boxer's mouth(type of Dog in USA) so I took it off and took the black off and redid it. DH walked in and said oh my God honey I didn't mean, I interrupted him saying that it was ok, I looked really good and really didn't like it and wouldn't have liked the end product even though it was my first I really wanted to do a bit better even after saying I wouldn't. I took stuffing out to flatten it and changed the stitch I was using, I also redid the nose and mouth and it came out better. Not perfect but better! I'm not looking for perfection... that is so overrated anyway... Just a little character for the bear!
I will post a pic tomorrow of the new muzzle.
    Now that is a funny mom! There are a few books I taught myself with. 1. Crochet 101 for dummies 2. Crochet Answer book
They are both very very good books! The answer book also comes in knit but I dont knit so not sure how good it is.
I will say that if my dd6 could read I would make her read these books!!!
Looking good to me! My mum tried to teach me how to crochet. She fell off the sofa laughing at me, and I learned a few more swear words, but didn't quite master crocheting :D
     I am sure that picture would be priceless!
I am teaching my 6 year old daughter and it surely is a lesson from God about patience. My dd6 wants to know how to do it "NOW" and says since she sees how I do it she knows it but then cries when she can't get it. I have to say I am learning two lessons of my own... 1. Next time say no! 2. Patience is truly a virtue and I don't recommend it! LOL
I am sure she will do fine in the end but wow getting there is going to be journey! My dd4 also wants to learn but I said No on that one for sure. I said when you know how to addition, subtraction and how to read then we'll talk.. Now I might have just created a very good incentive for her so I might be putting my foot in my mouth very soon, we'll see on that one though!
At least my boys like sports and other things!
Body.
Head attached to body.
Muzzle before it goes onto head.
Muzzle sewn onto head.
I know the muzzle could be better but this is my first and I really want to see how this looks before making another differently. I can't wait!!!!
USA.. Order form says Wisconsin, in the USA.
I can only assume that ebay did read their post plus their info and saw the inconsistencies and that is why they sided with you. I'm glad ebay did their homework and was able to get justice!
Offended, I wonder what she thought when she received the boxes back and they ALL smelled like smoke!? She knew it, offended or not she knew and was trying to get rid of it. I'm sure the reason she wanted it back was because she didn't want you getting ideas about going through ebay and complaining! Glad to hear you didn't let it go and didn't believe the persons nonsense, taking it up with ebay will help others! I hope the next lot you find will be of better quality, things happen for a reason so maybe the next one will be at a better price!
