Iron alone may not be enough, as your body may not be able to take it up. Try high dosages (100 micrograms a day) of B12. It helped me when I was walking "in a fog" a few years ago.

Dear Daphne,

I'm so sorry to hear you are having a hard time again. I agree with what's been said. Take the dogs and cuddle up, eat chocolate, talk to someone who will listen, run and scream. Working in the garden seems like a good idea too. Roses, splendid! Go shopping, at least window shopping, in a florist shop (I remember you like that). Take "YOU time".

I sincerely hope things will get better from now on.

So sorry about your horrible weekend Sophie!       It could have been worse though and your team did well despite the accident. The hospital sounds even worse than ours. I hate it when they make you wait and won't even give you enough pain killers. I hope François will be up and running soon again.

Oh, I got one of those, its called hubby   He can't stand the fluff all over the place and he actually likes vacuuming  bear_wub He has tea duty too.  bear_smile

I want all the magical tools mentioned and also a machine that spots out any type of mohair I want on the push of a button. Like in Star Trek where the machines make anything imaginable, from food to clothes. For free of course!  bear_tongue

Shelli, Bry couldn't live off bear making anymore and had to take a job. That doesn't leave her much time to make bears, but she still does make them on occasion. She has sold some of her patterns recently and perhaps she will put them up for auction again. I haven't heard from her in a long time, because she left the Yahoo groups I'm in, but I believe she is fine, just had to change her career plans. Her website seems to be down though, which is sad. I loved her little creations and often returned to just look at them.

Looks very pretty Sophie! I am afraid of heights so I am not sure i would have gone up there.  bear_wacko

I am suspicious of short auctions (1-3 days), because I have read that fraud auctions are short. It takes ebay a few days to discover when an id as been stolen and the thieves do short auctions to be in the clear, before they are discovered.
I often bid at the end of an auction, because I look for similar items and decide late on which to bid, unless I really want something, then I bid earlier. I also think that more people will see an auction if it is longer and would do 7 days if I did sell on ebay (I do that on b4b).

Hi Deb

In my experience, you need either a special negative scanner or a professional scanner with negative holders. You can't just put them on the regular scanner glass and do it, the outcome will be less than desirable. The scanner should have a high resolution, because the negatives are small and you want to blow them up by several hundred percent. The scanner software should allow you to fine tune the scan, e.g. contrast, gamma, etc.

I thought all teddies could talk?   bear_rolleyes Love all your bears.

I was just thinking this topic looks like a virtual memorial service. You know, were everybody gets up and says a few words. Amazing!

Can we have something like an obituary section here on TT? A place where to remember friends that have passed away? Perhaps in the member list or the vendor forum or a separate thing. I fear this won't be the last of us to go and since we can't visit each other's graves, it would be nice to have something.

Hi Bonnie,

I think some artists do both a tag/birth certifictae kind of thing and an adoption certificate. I have done that on occasion to make it extra special. Do whatever you feel like. I love getting these little extras with a bear and put them on display with it.

Hi Pipa,

hot glue comes in sticks, which you put in an electric glue gun, where it is heated. You then dab it on whatever you want to glue. I haven't used it much, but  know it gets very hot, so be careful when handling it. Lots of colours are available as well as clear glue. Seems to work with most materials.

I hope, someone else can tell you more from first hand experience.

I feel very sad to hear about this. Still hoping it might be a different person. If its indeed our Winney, I'd like to add my deepest condolences.  bear_cry  bear_cry  bear_cry  bear_cry  bear_cry  bear_cry  bear_cry  bear_cry

This is the second bear artist who meets a premature end, at least during the time I've been involved in the scene. The other being Laura Pedosuk. My heart is heavy again. bear_sad

Love the site Dilu. Can hardly wait to see more gollies.

Just a small comment. As Nancy said, we all use different monitor settings and I prefer websites with relative text sizes and resizing windows. Your site has a set size for windows and text. Not even the function "make text bigger", which most browsers have, works with it. So for people with large monitors your text becomes tiny and almost unreadable. I like websites best where the contents adapts when I resize my browser window and where a standard text size is used that is independent of my screen resolution.

Now I'm veeery tempted to order a golly from you.  bear_wub Just need to recover from summer holiday bankruptcy  bear_tongue

That picture of the two of us came out pretty good, Sabine! I had to edit the one I had of you too because of the shade.

That was such a fun day! When are you coming back????????

Glad you like the pics Daphne. I may really come back for a holiday some day, but not right now. I am a little scared about flying to the US after the terrorist threats in London. That happened right in the middle of the conference and some of my friends had a hard time getting through security on their way home. Fortunately, I was going home a week later and not via London. Very scary though, thinking about being blown up in mid-air if the secret service hadn't caught this just in time.  bear_cry And I never much liked flying to begin with!

If anyone from TT ever comes to Stockholm, don't you dare forget about me  bear_original

Mindy, that is exactly why I have decided to include a picture of the bear on the tag or birth certificate. I thought, my "business" name and logtype would be enough, but what if someone has a lot of bears and gets the paperwork mixed up? So now I print tags with the bear's pic on one side, text on opposite, logotype and safety warning on front, then folded like a little double card. I also do signed buttons with my name and perhaps the bears name, sewn on or tied on. I used to do laminated birth certificates, but now do the small folded cards. I can't tie them onto minis as the card is almost larger than them  , but they go in the gift wrap.

Bonnie, I write name of the bear, birth date, designer name, materials list, pic of bear, logotype, warning that the bear is not safe for children. I do write OOAK somewhere too.

Acipenser

Finally I got my pics developed. Unfortunately, we got photographed in the shade, but I did some Photoshop magic. Beautiful, fun Daphne with her favourite bunny and the both of us in Portsmouth.

In case you missed the first part of this. I went to a scientific conference in Durham, NH, and had contacted Daphne beforehand. She was very kind to offer to pick me up and take me on a shopping tour to Portsmouth, when she was all stressed out because of the up-coming bear show. So I sneaked out of the conference for a couple of hours. We mostly window-shopped, but couldn't resist the goods at a local quilt shop. Vi had a lot of fun on that beautiful day. My conference was a great success too. I also want on a field trip afterwards along the coast of Maine visiting aquaculture facilities and marine labs. I can tell you that the vegetation looks a lot like in Sweden. It was great to be there and maybe I come back some day.

Jennie, which magazine and which issue, please?

Oooh, now I really need to have a go with my alpaka. Love their faces and paws!

Oooh, another one. I am sooo jealous. Lucky you Kim and well done Wendy.

I would bet on muskrat too. Looks a little too long and thick for mink to me.
