Chrissi,
Try this site. It has alot of information on both styles of knitting as well as several videos to help visualize what they are saying.

Americans tend to us what they are calling the English Method while europeans tend to use the Continental Method. It really doesn't matter which you use, try them both and then go with what feels the most comfortable to you.

WTG! I think your little bears are absolutely adorable and this award is well deserved!

Totally precious cuteness! Love the bears and the picture too!

Great job! Seeing how one comes out really makes me think about taking that class.
Can't wait to see the rest of the bear. Be sure to show it to us when it's done!

~ Ruby and Vern Get Ready for the Holidays ~
5-Way Jointed and only 2.25 Inches Tall Standing !
Peachtree Cottage™ Miniature Anime Style Bears
by Mary Robinson - Peachtree Cottage ™ Bears
This time of year Santa's little helpers get very very busy. Ruby's job this year is to test out the sleds to make sure they are safe! While Vern has to check each drum to make sure it's loud enough. They are as cute as buttons and ready to bring their little toy sled and drum to your house! His name is Vern (pronounced "Vurn") which means "green nose" in elfese. Her name is Ruby (pronounced "Rue-bee") which means "red nose" in elfese.
They stand at 2.25 inches tall (not counting the hats!) which makes them equivalent to about 24 inches on a 1:12 doll house scale. Their eyes are slightly shaded to give them added depth. The hats are removable and made from acrylic threads.

I love seeing the first bears type stuff. I hope more artists post theirs!

Nothing springs to mind for me either but I'll think on it for ya :-) Pretty color nose :-)

The purse is great but it does sound like a very long process. I really liked the needlefelted flowers added to it.
/bearhugs,
A wonderful face! You're off to a great start on your pumpkin man :-)

I do the same thing....use zip lock bags. But I also put a printed picture of either the pattern picture or what I've made from it in with it so I can look at a quick glance and tell which one it is. I also write on the picture the name of the pattern.
