hi!
I love pet pics!!!  This is our welsh terrier Scrappy.  He is almost 4 years old and VERY spoiled.  He was a wild puppy but has turned out to be a great dog.  We did have to get a bigger bed because he sleeps with us and likes to stretch out.

Well, I've been on TT for about a month and I don't know if my bear making skills have improved but I feel like a computer genius!! I  can't believe I can actually take a picture, shrink it , write on it and post it on the computer - all in a months time.  My computer skills were embarrassingly limited to shopping on line.  I have actually learned quite a bit in the past month,  the bear in my avatar is my first attempt at shading around the eyes, nose and ears. Thanks to the info I learned right here on TT.  There are some VERY talented artists on here, so I am a little nervous about showing my work bear_cry  but hopefully you'll just see improvement over time

thanks for all your input, I washed a little piece  and it is softer and smells good, maybe I'll try washing my next piece before I start.  As I'm pretty new to bear making I still get that nervous knot in my stomach when I make that first cut in the mohair bear_cry  but, seeing how washing that little piece worked out fine I think I"ll give it a go.  Thanks again bear_original

Kathleen

thanks !!!!!

hi guys,
I just read tammy's post about her mohair shipment.  I've only made 2 bears out of mohair so far but I just used the mohair as it came.  I didn't wash it first!  I went back and looked through some of my bear books and it doesn't say anything about wahing it.  I've got a pattern all set to cut out, but now I'm wondering if I should wash the mohair first?  Is it just from a cleanliness standpoint  or does it change the texture of the mohair.  I hope this isn't a stupid question.  Does everyone wash it first or is it a personal choice? bear_smile

I went to joann fabric this morning and picked up a couple pencils, blending pencil and a marker.
I'm thinking of hitting a garage sale or two to pick up some practice bears.  Thanks for the closeup pics.

Kathleen

Thanks for the info bear_original  I think I'll try the prismas pencils first.  Can you buy them at an arts and craft store or are they specific for bear making and I should look online?

hi,
I'm kinda new to bear making and I've noticed alot of you use markers or airbrush shading around the eyes of your bears and it really adds to their personality. I'd like to try it, but don't really know that much about it.  I found a site that sold copic markers with fine and broad tips.  They also sold a colorless blending pen you can use for mistakes.  Does this mean it will remove the marker from the mohair?  Do you shade before you insert the eyes?  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  I would like to try it but I"m afraid I'm going to ruin the bear bear_cry

Thanks,
Kathleen

I want to order a shirt but I just can't decide what size I am! I've tried on my husbands medium and large t-shirts and I still don't know.  I'm hoping those of you that have gotten your shirts can help me.  I'm 5'4" and I usually  wear a size 8.  I was leaning toward a medium but everyone says they run small so now I 'm thinking I should order a large? bear_wacko

Dilu, I don't think that's going to work for me,  my husband works in a chocolate factory, he comes home from work smelling like chocolate bear_wub
