Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

I am obsessed with creating Hippos!!!  LOL  Here is the new design for the latest of the House Hippos :0)xx

I decided have some fun yesterday and fancied making a hippo with a big bum!  I was told about an advert which featured House Hippos, found the video on You Tube and fell in love with the idea of a House Hippo!  I worked my rather large bum off yesterday and produced a Thingumy & Co House Hippo, she is called Patroushka and is a mere 6" from nose to tail:0)  Wot do you think?

Just wanted to share a piccie of the latest happy smiley bears :0)  They have both found new homes but thought I would share anyhoodle!

When I gave up bear making five or so years ago, I decided to sell off a lot of my patterns.  An 'artist' bought one or two of them and then lo and behold there were my bears staring up at me from various places all with her name on them.  When I contacted her and told her that I wasn't happy to not have had the credit given to me she told me that as she had made one or two minute changes to the pattern it was now not my work but hers!  If I had had the money I would have taken it further!!!!  I have a real bee in my bonnet on copying it drives me nuts, but it is very hard to prove someone is copying your work even if they have bought the pattern from you.  As I have no desire to make any enemies I left it alone but I will NEVER sell my patterns again!!

I adore steampunk but have only ever seen it applied to dolls, have attached a couple of pics which you may find helpful, I think watch parts play a rather large role!!!!   LOL

Thanks guys, personally I think she looks better in the fur, the weather has not been condusive to taking pictures recently and a lot of the detail gets lost!

I am with you Dawn, I have found people just as plain spoken to my face as they are on the net which is great, I would always rather plain speaking whatever the medium and I am always happy to say it how I see it!!! 

The one and only thing that I have found has caused problems on the net rather than anywhere else apart maybe from the old fashioned letter is that inflection and tone can't be heard in email or on forums and often misunderstandings arise from that.

Bugger mate, don't know what to suggest, with all the hoo ha before Christmas I am guessing they have just got held up in the system somewhere, lets face it, it was chaos then wasn't it?  Tell your ladies to be patient a wee bit longer and explain that you can't refund until you have claimed and then send them copies of all your emails and stuff so that they know you arent pulling a fast one!!! 

I held on to my overseas parcels and posted them yesterday, hopefully that will avoid any cock ups, Royal Mail are crap at the best of times.  I never told you but the Special Delivery parcel I sent to Carey (ages ago now) was all bashed and squashed when she received it, if the bear had been any bigger it would have been totalled!  That does not give me a huge amount of faith when they are supposed to treat Specials like gold arent they?

Hope it all comes good hon, you ok for a visit next week?  Bit busy this week, at hospital with Dave tomorrow and other stuff namely all behind like the preverbial cows tail when it comes to the bears!!!

I get mine from Boots!!!  They have loads including Girls Aloud ones, which are super thick and fabulous for small bears of course you will need the finer sort but generally I find Boots the best place!!!

The little green one is called Golpalot.  I am happy to say he has found a new home already along with the little yellow one.....my fav is the little blue and chocolate one I think it is the eyes that do it!!!
