I have no idea about the bear scene in Reno, but I hope you have a great time! Just try not to shoot a man, just to watch him die, OK?
Hugs,
Lyn
Judi Paul obviously has a handle on bear making that some other bear artists will never achieve and i include myself in here too. Her attention to detail is superior in a way that R.John Wright will never know. Where R.John Wright produces the most wonderful copies of literary works such as his Alice in Wonderland/Beatrix Potter pieces - someone else has already done the work for him because he copies the old illustrations and everyone can copy can't they?
For me Judi Paul is the best bear artist around at the moment because she copies no-one and nothing (is that good grammar?) yet still embraces the original bear 'ethos' - which is to me is, you want to pick the bear up and hug it, not keep it in a display case.
 Amen, sister!
Inspired hugs,
Lyn
 I think I didn't explain myself very well. I didn't mean this to be a "Which bears do you like best?" or "Who's the best artist?" sort of thing. I was kind of interested from an artistic style and design point of view. I'm so sorry if it sounded like it was a popularity contest! There are way too many different styles, great artists and differing tastes to make that even remotely possible anyway, which is a wonderful.

Owwwwie, Carolyn! Apparently Birkenstocks aren't always foot friendly!
Get well hugs,
Lyn
I'm so happy to hear he's home, Jo-Ann! Best wishes to your son for a speedy recovery.
Get well hugs,

I love traditional bears, whether distressed or not. I love Rita Diesling's Ridibears as well as Diane's Wee Scones in the distressed category. Aleta's Silly bears are to die for when it comes to beautiful traditional bears.
I also love funky, whimsical style bears. Both Karen Drayne's and Jen Murphy's work inspire me endlessly.
I'm very much in awe of those blurring the line between bear artistry and fine art like our own Judi and R. John Wright, as well!
What styles and artists particularly inspire you?
Hugs,
Lyn
Edited to add that I'm referring to artists and styles that inspire your own work. My taste in bears I'd like to own is all over the map in regard to both artist and style.
You're gorgeous, Matthea! Cool film, too. You look fabulous with a shaved head, as well.
Hugs,
Lyn
Oh my, Judy! I'm so amazed and awed by your creativity and skill! I suspect you're way to humble to realize this, but it's no exaggeration to say you're one of the best bear artists in the world. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
Hugs,
Lyn
Hooray! The nominations are well deserved in every possible way.

Wow, it's odd to see what went for very high bids and the stuff that went for bargain basement prices. I find it sort of sad that two manufactured dolls went for such a great amount of money, but many of the incredible true one of a kind pieces went for so little.
Yayyy for Kim, though! Your little sweetie did great!
Hugs,
Lyn
He's very cute! Is there no mention of size, or am I just missing it?
Valentine hugs,
Lyn
Having a featured gallery auction certainly seems to help, but I wouldn't base any ideas about the quality of your work on ebay sales at the moment. It seems to be bit wacky at the moment. Even the usual very expensive artists work is going for less than what I've seen in the past. Maybe it's the weather or something.
Hugs,
Lyn
Here is the Lockergnome auction site, but they didn't seem to have anything listed under "Bears and Dolls".

I'm using patterns to make muslins of bear heads to get an idea of what different pattern shapes look like when made up and stuffed. It's mostly just research for designing my own bear patterns. I really love the look of a rounded head, so I'm leaning more in that direction.

Oh, gosh, what a nightmare! To think the injury and death were preventable is absolutely heartwrenching.
Condolences to you and your city, Julia.
Many big hugs,
Lyn
Wowza! This completely adorable and totally appealing in every way. Best wishes for even more fame and fortune Ms. Jenny!

I LOVE raccoons, and this one is wonderful! Good grief, I don't think I could pick a winner just from the little critters I've seen here. I don't know how the judges can possibly choose!
Hugs,
Lyn
That is the cutest little mouse I ever did see! I could easily see her winning.
Best wishes to you and your little girlie mouse.
