Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Thanks so much again for all the wonderful compliments on Christopher!He will be going to his new mommy in Japan soon.Barbette,I sculpted his muzzle from sculpey then used an old technique that I use to use in my dollmaking days which is pressed cloth,in this case,mohair moulded over the sculpey form,then when dried lifted off with cloth and backing added(inside the hollow side) for strength.The piece is then sewn to the head(face front of kitty)Then to finish it off,with paperclay I built the nose out adding the nostrils and little lines.Hope that helps explain the process a little more.~~~~Hugs....Sharie

I have been working on this fellow for quite some time now and I am so happy he is finally completed and now listed.His name is Christopher and he is made from white curly mohair with hand tinted accents.His nose/muzzle was constructed from pressed mohair from a sculpted sculpey form.I had been keeping his outfit a secret on my blog until his reveal day,showing only his hat with clues to the outfit..hehe.He is dressed in a victorian outfit in a deep midnight blue that I choose to brings out his light coloring.He is 15 inches tall and fully jointed.He is now on ebay if you would like to see all his details with lots of photos.~~~~Sharie

Sadly,Tippy's auction was removed due to being reported as keyword spamming by using bear friend in the auction title.I really don't understand why someone would want to be so cruel by doing this to end her auction,but I will abide by the rules from now on.I have relisted her,hopefully legally by ebay standards.i would recommend to all,please be careful while listing an auction because this could easily happen!~~~~sharie

Thank you so much for all the wonderful compliments on Tippy!I really it appreciate  so much.Joanne,yes she was worth it but next time I will tape my fingers and put on gardening gloves before attempting to use a ginsu style knife on my work...lol!Kimberly,so happy to hear you got a new kitten and it resembles Tippy.I also have a simular looking kitty named Teeds and he is my oldest and will be turning 20 very soon.He is a sweetheart and from my experience it seems gray colored kitties are so gentle by nature.~~~Sharie

Hi again!I am so happy that I finally got this kitty completed and listed on ebay.If I thought the last kitty was complex to create,this little miss was 100 times more challenging!(almost lost a finger working on her nose lol!)This is Tippy,created from mohair with felt additions and was made to look like a kitty dressed in baby  clothes,like I did with mine when I was little hehe.She is now on ebay if you would like to learn more about her and see lots of pics of her posing. ~~~Sharie
