Thank you Peter, Becky, Thelma, and Claire! I had already started this rabbit and then when I came home with a pocket full of conkers it all suddenly seemed so come together. I am terrible for bringing home Conkers (pine cones, bits of twig, acorn cups etc' etc'
) I just wish I could find a way to keep them looking as marvellous as when they are fresh out of the shell. Autumn is a very beautiful time of year

Beautiful face and gorgeous fur!

Another idea although I admit time consuming would be to mould the nose in the shape you would like directly on the bear in flymo or other bake in the oven clay. Remove carefully to not spoil the shape, bake, then when cool smoothly cover with fabric and glue and sew in place with ladder stitch that way you get the exact shape you would like but it would be a solid nose. You would need trim the pile off the muzzle and only leave a small selvedge to tuck under the fabric nose to reduce bulk and as jenny said would need super neat stitching.
Good luck -let us know how you get on

Hi all I've been on holiday for a couple of weeks and now my Mum is staying with me for the week so finding time to have a good look at TT is proving nigh on impossible but I am looking forward to spending an hour or so with a nice cup of tea catching up on your latest creations next week.
Here is a bunny I made last month that I am hoping to list on bearpile later today......

Joe Conkers as his name suggests is bonkers about conkers! He has gained quite a reputation and has a mighty fine collection. ‘I’m not letting these out of my sight the competition would love to get their hands my best conkers. One is even a 234-er’ he tells me puffing his little chest out with pride. ‘It’s down to a careful preparation of your nut’ he tells me and twitches his nose with a conspiratorial nod ‘and a clean swing action, after all good ones don’t just grow on trees you know’.
Hope you like him

He is lovely and a very appealing bear! and I think you need to give your self a break. As student bears maker said we are our own worst enemies and I too use to get disheartened when I saw amazing work then look at my own. But now I see amazing work as inspirational and it helps me to keep working hard to learn the skills that can only come by persistent effort. Most of the best artist that I admire have been at it for a long time and have built up their experience over years. Every one learns at a different pace (think about kids leaning to walk and talk it happens when it happens)
Try to relax and enjoy the journey
Your doing great!
