You're not alone in your tweaking, Cheryl. I guess that's how we get better:)

I really like Tad! Those turned-back "hands" and dark pawpads, especially.

Becky

He's fluffy and fabulous! I can see what drew you to that alpaca.

Becky

dangerbears

I love her, too, Melissa!

The tri-color scheme is marvelous, and the way that white fur "sprays" out from her head is lovely:)

Becky

dangerbears

Special indeed, Judi!

Such a beautiful piece of art, and like all your creatures, such a sweet homage to the natural world. Sherwood's facial expression is one-in-a-million, and I love that "collar" too!

Becky

LOL! A good question, Ali!

The big group of bears is on the guest bed, so when we do actually have a guest, there has to be a parade of bears into my office first. (And since there are already bears in the office, it's quite a scene!)

Best,
Beck7

Other hug posters have inspired me, as have a couple of new additions to my hug -- Sandy the rolling rat from Raggy Rat (Catherine Owen) and Sasha the polar bear cub from Sue Jennings.

As you can see, everyone is getting along great!

Becky

Yes! Thanks for the good idea, Ann. I've got something old that I've been meaning to make into a bear.

Becky

Those claws are precious! And the name reminds me of the old Hamm's beer commercial, which featured an adorable bear "from the land of sky-blue water..." (We've still got the beautiful water here in Wisconsin, but the beer has changed -- maybe for the better!)

Becky

dangerbears

Oh, she is lovely! The shading around her eyes makes them so feminine and thoughtful.

Becky

dangerbears

Could two teddy bears have found a nicer home? I think not:)

Thank you, Thomas,
Becky

It's beautiful, Karen. It looks much more like a paw created by a mama cat than a paw created with stitches and leather. Don't know how you do it:)

Becky

dangerbears

So interesting!

It's going to be like getting a new life for the little guy, once he's got eyes and a proper nose again.

There are things about the look of this bear that make me think he was home-made from the start. That might explain his unusual "restoration" too, if someone in the house knew how to make bears. (Are those metal joints? Or just a trick of the camera?)

He's a special character, and just like with a stray animal, you know there's a background story, but he's not talking!

Becky

Such beautiful scissor sculpting on the muzzle! He's a lovely bear.

Becky

This was wonderful to read! I'm very eager to see pics.

It was really an interesting way for someone to "save" an old bear. Perhaps the bear costume preserved the old fellow and made him huggable to someone. (I've very glad you let him out, though:)

Becky

dangerbears

I can believe he won -- wonderful little pup!

Becky

Beautiful colors you chose!

Becky

Thank you for the good wishes!

Robin, on my machine at least (late 1950s Singer dressmakers model), sewing mohair fabric is MUCH easier than sewing synthetic plush. And I've never had any problems with getting anything stuck in the feeder mechanism (dogs? Had never heard that before!). As far as hand sewing, mine just isn't good enough! If I want straight, tight, regular stitches, it's the machine or nothing:)

Becky

dangerbears

Such wonderful details! Both of your new creations make me smile:)

Becky

dangerbears

Good luck with the show! Everyone is going to love your bears:)

Becky

dangerbears

These are two lucky bears to have such a great new dad and such a beautiful garden to play in!

Becky

dangerbears

You HAVE been doing a lot of reading! (I'll have to add a note about Pedigree to the Cockrill book.)

Becky

dangerbears

According to Pauline Cockrill's "Teddy Bear Encyclopedia," all of Pedigree's production was moved to Belfast in 1955, so if the tag says England rather than Ireland, the bear was made in 1955 or earlier. (This is fun!)

Becky

She's so stylish with her beads! The colors are fabulous, and those eyelids are really well-done!
