Here in France, the Winter is shy.
It finally decided to show its nose a few days ago and we know have beautiful frosts in the morning.  Temperatures drop a little under O°C in the mornings.
On radio and TV they warn us about frozen roads. Please, dear Canadian friends, donnot laugh at us!
In France, people panic for nothing : a few cm of snow or frozen roads for example!!!!!!!!

Until then, temperatures were milder than usual.

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

You will be happy with your purchase, Gemma!
I did order at Intercal a couple of times and I received great mohairs. They are still waiting they turn to be used, but some day, when I am in a teddy bear mood, I will make great bears with them.

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Now be are buying a house, we can afford new pieces of furnitures.
So we decided to visit very often the second hand shop nearby.

Today, we made there great deals, for sure!

So : a great sewing machine : a very old one (from between end of 1945 and 1966), a MIP one, in its piece of furniture (in walnut wood).

The sewing machine is working perfectly. The price was very cheap.

I was searching a cabinet for my teddy bear and found a small one for a good price. We removed the wooden shelves : we will put some glass shelves instead. It is 146 cm high, 26 cm deep.

Needless to say how much I am happy!

We bought an air extractor for our cooker too.

The only problem is that there is no room left for them all in our flat...  bear_wacko So they lay in the middle of the way until we find where to put them until april when we move.

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

So many questions, Duff!
Well, I may end up having some special space for my sewing. It will depend how we will manage to arrange everything. Houses looks bigger when they are empty...

Flowers beds on the windows can be nice, but we fear some accident if flower pots fall because of the wind.

The house is located in a very small village (a little over 320 inhabitans). This village has a funny name meaning Chapel with cabbages...

This village is 45 minutes far for our current flat if we take the highway. It is only 9 km far from the closest highway access.
There are no shops nearby and we need to drive 6 km for the closest ones (not that bad).

I will have a longer drive to go to work from my new home (between 45 min and 60 min). It is not a big problem, as I have no idea where I will be teaching next year.
For Malko, even though he will be closer to his working place, it will take as much time to reach it.

This village is in the countryside. There is a river a few hundreds meters far from our house.
This village is located in a beautiful area with troglodyte places.

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Duff, i tried that banana bread recipe this afternoon and both Malko and I are seduced!
It is soooo yummy!

I will definately make it with my pupils.
I told their English teacher about our project. She decided to study that banana bread recipe with the pupils.
She accepted to work on everyone's comment from TT about bread too.
I am so pleased another teachers participates.

I want to thank you all again for tyour help.

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Well, dear friends, we will be soon able to move in OUR house (in april).
We found a cheap house in a very small village (less than 400 inhabitants). We like its location.  bear_thumb
It was really a good deal and I still cannot believe it.  bear_original

It is ready to live in with no important work to do inside... What else could we expect????  bear_thumb

This house is a little over one century old and sane.

dsc027081qk4.jpg

dsc027161yh3.jpg

On the first floor there is the living room, the kitchen and the bathroom. The main door in the street opens to the living room. The door in the back of the house opens to the kitchen.
On the second floor, there are two bedrooms and a little dressing with an access in the ceiling leading to the attic. We want to arrange the attic into a big extra room. The only thing is that we can stand properly only in the middle of the attic because of the roof.

dsc027151ds1.jpg

dsc027261ro5.jpg

There is a courtyard we access through a gate. In that courtyard there are two extra out houses : one, small, hosting an old bread oven in very good shape ; the other, which is bigger, hosting three pig homes that can make good storage space or workroom plus garage... Only the roof covering of these out houses will need to be refreshed. Under the roof of the pig homes, we can arrange some extra space too in the future (that space is running on top of the three pig homes).

We have no garden, just a small flower bed. This is not annoying for us, as for a beginning, we donnot need a garden.

So we are very happy...

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Dear friends,

As some of you may know, I am working as a teacher.
I just planned a new project for my Four Grade pupils. It will be all about bread.

I would like them to find details about bread in foreign countries (I mean out of France) : do people in other countries eat some bread and if yes, what kind of bread.

So here is where you could help : you are all from a wide range of countries so I would love if you could tell us a little about bread in your country.
Do you eat some bread? what kind of bread? what are the most popular breads in your country?
Of course, if you have pictures to add, this will be wonderful.

I am sure my pupils will be delighted to get some informations for such wonderful people. I am so lucky to know you lot!

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Cadeau-Nathan-chat.JPGCadeauMaxence_1.JPGDear friends,

I have not posted much these last days, to show you what I made.

I was busy making Christmas gifts.
I made two cross-stitch with Beatrix Potter critters. I love Beatrix Potter critters soooo much.

The one I framed is for Malko's niece and the one I incorporated into a pocket is for his nephew. I made the pocket myself and finnished it yesterday in late evening. Phewwwwww.
I am not sure the children will appreciate them that much, cos they are too young (Maxence, the girl, is about 4 and Nathan about 15 months).

I hope you like them.

I think i am now addicted to cross-stitch, and it is going to be hard to reconcentrate on my teddy bear making. But I have to! I will have a show on Easter week-end, and donnot have that much time to prepare it (because my teaching position does not let me that much free time and energy for it).

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

lapousmor

Oh, Krista, what a chance you were there to notice something was going wrong with Keira!!!!!

You are such a lovely and caring lady! Thanks soooo much for helping these animals...

Now Keira can be happy again and i am sure you will find her a loving home.

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

I am glad everything went well for him.

Oh my god!!!!

So, what about your tries at torturing it????
Did you get any positive result or there is definately nothing to expect from it?

I could suggest you use it to make toys for pets with it... unless it could be toxic for them... you never know.  bear_wacko  bear_wacko  bear_wacko  bear_wacko  bear_wacko  bear_whistle
