Shantell,

I don't think there is anyone amongst us that hasn't felt the way you do at some time or other.

My feeling is, your confidence needs a boost...your bears are great and as far as I can tell everyone sees a bear through different eyes. What appeals to one collector doesn't necessarily appeal to another...you'll never be able to please everyone.

Follow your gut feeling and run with it...you'll find your niche in time...OMG it took me nearly ten years to find something I was really happy and content with...and yet I still strive to improve my work!

You're doing great girl,
Big beary hugs,
Sandi

Yes Karen, we're about six kilometers out off the Wangaratta to Beechworth Road.

No neighbours insight...nine acres cleared, the rest all natural bushland that you can walk through. We also have our very own cave...and no I'm not married to a caveman!

I love Beechworth, it's so close to the snowfields, all the wineries and the gourmet trail, not far from Stanley for the apples and berry picking, half an hour to Albury to do all the major shopping...what more could you ask for?

There's only one trouble with the Bakery...it makes you FAT bear_grin or should I say FATTER?

Well I'm off to bed early tonight...these sessions are beginning to catch up with me.

Kassie:
Yes there are places to ride...in the cow paddocks next door OR down the dirt road 6 kilometers to see my Mum!

The rabbit holes are

big

and they tunnel underground for miles (stretching the truth a bit there) but some times you'll be walking along and the earth gives way beneath you. Pesky little things Wabbits!! It's not hard to loose your leg up to the knee. bear_grin

Renae:
You two should wait till we build...we'll have a guest room or two...then you can come and stay (leave the hubbies at home, you'll have a ball!) Do either of you have an Atlas? If you do look up Beechworth, Victoria...it has the BEST BAKERY!
Sandi

Kassie and Renae:

I don't think I'd like to ride on the block, it's very rocky and there's lots of rabbit holes...they're everywhere...gone down a few myself from time to time when I wasn't looking where I was going. bear_grin

Haven't actually seen a wombat, but I'm sure they're here from the holes we've seen. We do have the little glider possums and lots of native birds. We have had the land declared "Land for Wildlife" to try and protect the roos from being shot by the locals...some of the farmers here abouts don't like them very much! Makes me bear_angry

Goannas we have, and oh yes plenty of snakes!!!

stream.jpg

This is our little stream we have most of the time...except when there's a drought.

I'll see if I can find some with people in so it gives you an idea of the size.

Charlotte I do like my kitchen, it's warm and cosy.
I can stand at my bench and look across the room to watch Bold and the Beautiful (or Cold and the Cubicle as hubby says) whilst I'm preparing dinner. bear_grin

Here's a  :photo:

The welcome sign on the wall (above left of tele) was made for me by my eldest daughter and the rest of the bits I made myself.

bear_flower Thanks Dilu, Sue Ann and Clare.

When I did the first two back in 2002 I had intended to do more, but I counted up my cupboards and there were 14 doors .... and it just became tooooo much for me to tackle! bear_grin

I think I'll leave it at that...maybe when we build the new house?

When I want plain colours, I prefer to use DMC perle cotton and as it comes in three different thicknesses and a reasonable variety of colours.....it seems to suit my need pretty well.

For my coloured noses I use (Watercolours by Caron) a handpainted 3 ply pima cotton seperated into a single thread. There are so many lovely colours and it's available from Barb at Joggles.

I have used floss (as you American girls call it) from time to time on smaller bears, but because I do mainly larger bears I don't find it that suitable.

Hi Dilu,

Just thought I'd send you a  :photo:  of one of my kitchen cupboards that I painted...it's right up your alley and I know how much you like  :photo:  :photo:  :photo:

KitCup.jpg

I've only painted two...the other one doesn't have any gollies though...just a teddy and a jack-in-a-box.

Hope it makes you smile.

Hugs,
Sandi

Hi Renae and Kassie,

Koalas do eat the eucalypt leaves...and get high on them that's why they sleep all the time! bear_grin

The flowers don't really have a smell...not like roses and such. But the red gum flowers (which are the ones I love the best) are beautiful in full bloom...and there are so many shades of red, right through from deep orange, through to bright crimson and deep cerise.

Wallabies and roos love this sort of country...

Block.jpg

...we have many roos on our 53 acres and echidnas. This is where we will build our new house in four years...and where I'll have my studio.

If you want me to post more pics just let me know.

You're both country girls aren't you?

Big hugs,
Sandi

Here's a bit of useless information for you!

"There are more than 700 species of Eucalyptus, mostly native to Australia, with a very small number found in adjacent parts of New Guinea and Indonesia.
Eucalypts can be found in almost every part of the continent, adapted to all of Australia's climatic conditions; in fact, no other continent is so characterised by a single genus of tree as Australia is by eucalyptus.
Many are known as gum trees, hence the seeds are called gumnuts."

Dear Shelli,
Here's a little quote from my favourite book "The Gift of Courage" by Paul Speicher, that might help.

"God broke the endless circle of time into hours and days so that, hour by hour and day by day, we might be able to go along and keep quite strong. But we in our foolishness act as if we were wiser than God. We take all the weight of worry and strife which we believe we will meet in the future and carry it now, instead of allowing it to rest in peace until the time comes for it to trouble us."

All I can add is...
Don't worry about things that are beyond your control...just have faith in the things that are.

bear_thumb Keep your chin up kiddo,
Big beary hugs,
Sandi

Hi Kathy,
I know only too well how frightening it can be when there's something wrong with your eyesight. I was so relieved my problem was nipped in the bud so to speak. My prayers are with you and I do hope everything improves soon.
