Hm..maybe I'll be able to win the ebay auction *crossing fingers*

Thanks to you both.
I must agree with you, Joanne, I quite liked to use this unusual fabric and now plan to make some kind of series... maybe only bears with unusual fabrics (as I have very much of these) which all look "traditional" - or I could make 2 bears out of the same pattern, the first one like Nils (with mohair/ "normal bear fabric" for the food and paw pads) and the second one reversed (like a "normal" bear... do you know what I mean? sounds kinda confused, I know  bear_rolleyes )

Hi Ladies, thanks a lot for your lovely comments, Nils surely appreciates them

DSCN3586.JPGDSCN3575.JPGHey there,

I'd like to present Nils to you, my last bear made in 2010. I'm here at my boyfriend's and sudenly the bear-mojo overcame me - but I hadn't my materials here. What did I do? I took what I could get, wool, felt, pads of cotton wool (for the filling; don't know how they're called in English), buttons and then press-buttons for his eyes.
Although he certainly IS different from what I normally make, I do love him a lot, he certainly looks weird but in a cute way  bear_happy
I started Nils yesterday and just finished him an hour ago - btw thanks to my boyfriend who named him -, a cute 12,5cm high bundle of joy, complete with his scarf and a wee lil' tail (my first on a bear)!

Hope you like him and we wish you a happy new year!

Hugs, Ariane

Fallenrose

wow, that surely is a great story!

I'm so sorry to hear this, it must be so hard for you! (Well, for me it is hard to keep away from the bears, I haven't done one in some months but would love to have the time to.....)
I do hope that you'll get back your Mojo very soon

I'm not sure but I think character bears are bears with a special extra..something like..attitude?
For example, the bear discussed in the ebearz course "Toots" (by Ted Menten) is a character bear, I believe.
You can take a look at him here: http://www.kranbearys.com/Ebearz/Bears/Toots.htm

Kein Problem, helfe gerne wenn ich kann^^

Fallenrose

Oh wow, I must agree with Brenda, this bear is absolutely stunning! I love the look on his face, his eyes (with those eyelids) are so charming

Hugs, Ariane

Fallenrose

Awww, how sweet

PS: Du kannst ein zweites Foto auch im ersten Posting hochladen. Einfach auf "Edit" gehen, nachdem du den Post mit dem ersten Bild abgeschickt hast, und noch eins hochladen ;)

I think it will look lovely, too, although it depends on the shade of orange you use. You might want to sew the head and stitch the nose and then hold the eyes in front of it to see how it looks to you

Hugs, ariane

Fallenrose

I can see the picture now, too^^
But I'm sorry, I can't help you to identify this bear - hopefully the others will know more^^

Ariane

Fallenrose

Aww, what cute little bears - seems like you were the perfect swap partners for each other! *_*
