Amanda, that's my kind of stress relief too...

I've had an odd day today and am feeling a bit fragile. So I'll probably curl up with my book later and let it transport me to a different place. Just for a while. Sometimes we need to find ways to replenish our energy....

Jenn, I hope you find something that works for you

Helena

Love your photos, Sue Ann - it looks like you had a fantastic time!

I visited Intercourse once....about 20 years ago. It's a beautiful area. I remember stopping at some place (Bird-in-Hand?) that boasted being 'halfway between Intercourse and Paradise'. That caused no end of chortling!

Thanks for sharing, I've really enjoyed seeing and reading about your trip

Helena

Awwwww, Lisa, I'm going to miss you on here!!!!!!   If your work lets you come back sometime, please please pop in and say hello....

bear_cry

PS Sorry, I know you said don't reply, but...well....couldn't help myself.... bear_cry

Helena

Pen, could you send us some of your sunshine pleeeeaaaaassse???! We're cold here in Macclesfield, and dodging the rain. We have had about 10 days fine weather this year so far  bear_cry

On the up-side....no bugs!!!!!  bear_laugh

Helena

Nancy, I hope you are all ok....

Helena

Oh my gosh Daphne, that's some roller coaster you're on at the moment....just know that we're all here for you and sending positive thoughts to you and your family. It's such a difficult time. Take care and let us know how you are when you get chance

Helena

Judi, I just read the rest of the thread...and hope you're feeling a little brighter today. I had a blue mood last week and know how it feels. It can be hard to shake sometimes.

I sometimes visualise myself in a bubble (don't laugh!) where nothing can get through and hurt me. Only the good things are allowed in. It works - why not try it? It might help.

Huge hugs to you - you don't deserve to feel down.

Success is crossing the finish line in a race, the crowd cheering you on, and you have a stupid grin on your face- but you DID it,even if you near the end of the runners coming in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lynette

My 4-yr-old daughter ran in a race at her school sports day last year. Now, she's not the tallest little girl, doesn't have the longest legs and is therefore not the fastest. But she put all her effort into it and crossed the finishing line....last! (awww!). Preparing for tears I walked up to her and was greeted by a huge grin instead. She said 'I won! Mummy, I won!'. She thought the sticker they gave her (and the rest of the kids) meant she'd won! And I didn't tell her otherwise, 'cos she's a winner in my eyes!!!!

Now that's success!  bear_grin

LOL Jenny! My hubby has become an overnight footie fan - he normally keeps away from the matches on TV but you should have seen him jumping around tonight . Wooooweeee, it was a nail-biter!

Helena

We're watching the footie tonight Clare - I'm just taking a break during half-time. Did you see that goal in the first-half???! We cheered so loud you probably heard us!!!!!

PS We're not normally into football but the World Cup is something different - better atmosphere, more of a tradition - so I always tune in for the World Cup  bear_tongue

Like Sarah Jane, I was going to suggest Live Help. I wouldn't give it up without a fight. Surely it can't be that hard for eBay to give the refund again???!

Helena

I tried keeping my maiden name (Hyde) when I married, and managed it for about a year or so. But in certain situations my married name would come out (when people assume that you use it and call you Mrs. X)....and I just got sooooo confused about who I was!!! So I decided to change my name in the end, to avoid the confusion.

I can't tell you how many times I've signed my cheques in the wrong name!

Helena

Krista, since you're pricing your shipping honestly than I really don't think you have cause to worry. I would keep on doing whatever it is you do - by cutting your shipping you run the risk of eating considerably into any profit when it comes to sending out your bear. And that really hurts. I know, I've done it! I recently sent a whole load of music magazines out, and shot myself in the foot by making the P&P a bit too competitive....ouch!

Hopefully eBay will police this sensibly. It's pretty obvious to most eBay regulars when the shipping has been inflated.

Thanks for the info Bobbie!

Helena

I agree with what has already been said...

And like Paula I've found the number of hits on my auctions have risen a lot since listing in both categories on the .com site. I think I'm right in saying that many people using the US eBay site browse the bears in the 'artist one of a kind' section, which eliminates the international (incl. UK) listings. However the 'artist other' section shows up on the UK site...it's crazy! But that's the way it seems to work. I've e-mailed eBay about standardising the categories a couple of times, but I guess they make more money by keeping it this way....  bear_angry

Helena

Ooh, a new car....that is good news! And I'm glad to hear that your 'arm' crisis is sorted out....I bet most of us have done smething like that at some time or other. I know I have!  bear_wacko

Helena

Our good news is that we made it through the weekend in one piece!!!   bear_grin

It was a busy time - carnival on Saturday where my daughter Katie insisted on trying every ride (she's nearly 6 and a bit of an adventurer...). On Sunday it was the school's Rose Queen Festival, with parade and fete. Katie was very excited about dressing up and walking in the parade (see photo). And as if that wasn't enough, she had a party to go to afterwards! Two hours of screaming kids running wild in a whacky warehouse! It was l-o-u-d, I tell you.... :D

Paula, I saw your lovely bear on eBay while I was browsing this morning... and then noticed all the other bears from that seller so realised what was happening. I can understand why you're upset and I would feel that way too. It's annoying and it doesn't make sense to me (except for the profit motive, but even that wouldn't be enough of a motive for me to do such a thing).

Sorry, no solutions, just some friendly support....

Helena

Ooooh Kassie, I was cringing while reading your post, and think you were extremely brave to stay so calm. I'm a complete wimp and would have probably screamed the place down!  bear_grin Anyway, I hope your finger heals well and quickly  bear_thumb  bear_flower

Helena

I had trouble choosing between furs this week and ended up cutting several bears out at once, which is unusual for me. I usually work on a one-by-one basis you see. But sometimes the fur just gives you too much inspiration all at once, doesn't it?! And it's hard to resist....  bear_tongue

Helena

Thinking of you and your family, Daphne, and hoping for a good outcome....

Helena

Oh my goodness...that's fantastic!!!! What a boost to my day! Thankyou Jane, for putting this together

I'm going to have to send you a better pic of me though, for any future events....

Will this one do????

"waves to Anne*

Sorry to hear your work has been causing you to have so little free time, but glad to hear it's getting a bit easier! Too much stress isn't good for the soul so you definitely need a little time on TT each night, just to unwind

Take care and speak to you soon!

bear_flower

Helena

Ooooh, that sounds lovely - we all need a little pampering from time to time . Congratulations to your daughter who, as Anne said, must be a very advanced child judging by your photo......!!!

Helena

Hi Jane - I love your site! But I do have to scroll to the side a little bit. I have a 15" screen and set my resolution at 1024x768.

The computer world seems so diverse now in terms of screen sizes and resolution that it's hard to please everybody but, like Susan, I've been told it's best to aim for 800x600 and that way no-one misses out. However, from the straw poll taken here it looks like I might be in the minority in having to scroll at all!

This hints page also recommends using tables, which collapse or expand to fit the page: http://www.webwizguide.info/web_design/ … _sizes.asp

Hope this helps!

Helena

Fantastic! Well done to Erin and Jenny....it's wonderful to see you both in print!

I love being able to recognise friends from TT in the magazines  bear_grin
