Hey, I'm glad you guys are doing another challenge, they are a lot of fun to look at and you're all so talented! Well done on that first little panda, he's so cute!
Wow, that's amazing!
Thanks everyone, it's going to be hard to give them up, I'm especially attached to Den and wish I could talk someone I know into adopting him so that I can get updates. I do think it would be best if they were adopted together, they have such a lovely relationship... I often see them biting each others thoats!
Yup I still have them but hopefully it wont be long until we can get them adopted, you'd never know they were feral kittens!
In the first pic Della is cleaning Den's ear...
Thanks everyone and sorry to hear you're allergic Sue.
Marilyn, I was waiting for a reply from you! I'm so pleased that you might be heading off to the RSPCA soon, also do consider Cats Protection, at this time of year we are full up with cats and kittens and they try to match the right cat/kitten to you. Our Jupey is a CP cat and he's the best thing that happened to us!
Wow, I wish some of you lived near me, you'd be perfect to adopt one of these two little terrors, I'm realising that the people here are some of the nicest people I've ever 'met', I wish all forums were as friendly as this one!
The kittens by the way are doing good, they both let me pick up them up for a quick cuddle and purr like tractors! However, they sound like a herd of elephants when we're trying to sleep on a night...
Thanks for all the replies, yes it is addictive!
Laurie, let us know when your Toggle Teddies bear arrives!!
The blue dragon is Delphinium by Deb Canham, Andy bought me him for Christmas because I collect dragons. And yup that is Finley!
Good luck finding them a home together!!
As you may know we have recently started fostering for Cats Protection. Our first foster Cleo, an older kitty has gone back to her original fosterer, she's still not in good health and we are waiting to find out more about her problems. The good news is that she will not be put to sleep even if she cannot be rehomed, the fosterer will keep her in her sun house!
Cleo
Now that Cleo has gone we have been given 2 8 week old feral kittens, they were part of a litter of 4 but these 2 are the friendliest and just need more attention to get them socialised. So far so good, no major injuries!!
Den
(In that last pic he'd just been eating and was licking his chops!)
Della
Candy bear arrived this morning from Toggle Teddies so I took a couple of photos of her and a pic of the 4 'bears' I've collected so far. I can't get over how well Wendi from Toggle Teddies presents her bears, I am very impressed!
Yep, we need pics!!
Thanks Edie for the link, you're right we do need that thread again, it's fun to read.
Thanks for the pic Andrea, that is a cute bear, what's he called? Is he cuddly? When you get more bears you'll have to post them for me!!
Good for you! Can you post us a pic of your new bear?
Candy is sooo excited she keeps jumping into her box ready to go
I keep looking at her on your website, I love that it says reserved on her picture and that she's reserved for me!
Hehe, I get the feeling you are going to be a bad influence on me!
What am I going to buy? http://www.teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=24339. I've fallen in love with these bears! Wendi has been very helpful!
Better than eating chocolate Gemma. For your waist line that is.

Wendy
The problem is I'm addicted to chocolate too!!
Hey Susie, I would love to see your bear collection, it's great your husband collects too! I guess I don't spend money on smoking and I don't drink for health reasons, we don't like going to clubs or anything like that so I may as well spend some money on the things I enjoy: books, my animals and bears!
(Are you working on anything at the moment Susie?)
Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm already learning which artists I like and which bears I think are well made and yes I'll definitely try to see them as an investment. I can't just sit them on a shelf and look at them though, I like to sit and hold Penelope and also my Charlie Bear that my partner bought for me, I find them very comforting to have with me, they help my stress levels! Hmm I think I found another reason to buy them... my health!
I would so love to see some pictures of your collections, if any of you have the time and photos would you mind posting them? If there's already a thread of pictures, can someone point me in the right direction?
Every day I'm on here and also various artist's sites looking at all the gorgeous bears and am desperate for another! Is it because I'm new to collecting bears, especially artist bears that I can't stop looking at them? Is it too soon after buying Penelope bunny to buy another? She was £165 so obviously I'm going to have to save up for the next one anyway but I want to know if you think I'm being greedy!
Thanks to everyone for the replies, it's been very interesting reading them!
Kat, it's great you made a bear to raise money for Sophie, that story really got to me as I used to be a full time goth when I was younger and still wear 'different' stuff now. Velvet doesn't really do well in a house of shedding furries! I've got a link to Sophie's MySpace on my Facebook to help spread the word about what happened to her. I also love Whitby, it's one of my favourite places!
You all make gorgeous bears!
Janice, I love your bears and visit your site to drool over them! I definitely saw your article in the magazine, congrats to you too! Bobby is adorable, I love his face and feet, in fact I have a thing about bear feet, your bears have very nice ones! I hope to have one of your bears at some point, my finances are still recovering from that bunny I bought, lol.
I think my greatest achievement is probably not an achievement to most, but to me it is what it's all about. I have made and given away bears several times to special people. These are people who are less fortunate. Example: I sent a bear to a little girl in Peru who was having surgery to hopefully save her sight (the surgery was not a success). The pictures were brought back to me of this girl with her bear. The look on her face more than paid for this bear. This little girl lives in a one room, dirt floor hut. That bear is literally the only possession she has.
It's awful that the operation didn't work but brilliant that you did that for her and others. At least you know how valued your work is and that you're making a difference to people's lives.
Also, feel free to share those cinnamon rolls!
Ooooo congrats on getting in the mag Christine, I just started buying it so unless you're in one of the last 2 issues I must have missed your article.
Thanks for replying so quickly! Would love to see a pic of this scruffy bear of yours in his new jumper!
Hello everyone! I thought I'd ask a few questions to get to know you all better and because I'm very nosy! Hope that's ok!
How long have you been making bears?
What is your greatest achievement so far?
What is your favourite thing about bear making?
What is your favourite bear if you collect and/or make them? (Can be your own or someone elses etc).
What other hobbies do you have?
Thanks to anyone who answers!
