I'm with Debbie here,
as far as I'm concerned there is always time to catch a good flick- especially while sewing.
But I've always been the movie reviewer for our house, even in my youngest years....
these days though, I know more about Pixar movies than anything else- if I have to watch the Incredibles again  bear_wacko mind you they do have some awesome quotes.

Still doesn't help me here though....now somebody must have an idea!

cjsmum

bear_thumb that's a tough one for me, I'll need to ponder it for a while I think!

cjsmum

Hey Guys,
I realise it's a busy night tonight, but I'm eagerly awaiting the next cryptic quote!
Just thought I'd push it back to the top so I don't have to wait too much longer- the suspense is killing me bear_whistle

bear_shocked  bear_shocked  bear_shocked  I know this one too! But I'll have to leave it to someone else to have a go, I love this one - you guys have got great movie taste!

cjsmum

Both classics though- what ever happened to Molly?

cjsmum

And the right one is "Breakfast Club", Chloe had some of the right actors, but wrong flick- Congrats Roxanne: your it!
I just watched this one for the first time in 15 years, I forgot how young they actually all were...it really is one of "those" movies  bear_tongue

cjsmum

Here's a little clue- it's a classic "Brat Packer" movie with alot of eighties favourites.... all at the height of their game!

cjsmum

Right movie! Wrong adventurer- now I know I'm fading with age...

How about:

"You know Bennett, you don't even count, if you disappeared for ever it wouldn't make a difference, you may as well not even exist at this school!"

Hope it's not too obscure, but we were having a debate on classic movies the other day and this one was a hot topic!

Happy guessing,
Mel.

cjsmum

Another classic- Sean Astin "The Goonies" I think, will wait and see if my memory serves me!

cjsmum

Goodness Shelli,
That's an oldie, but a goodie- I'd forgotten about that movie and John's effort in it till you mentioned it....that paper boy is still one of the funniest skits ever!

Hi Catherine,

It can be a nightmare trying to finish an auction where it can be seen by the most people at the best time.

I read somewhere a few months ago that it was best to finish ebay auctions on a Tues or Wed, as they had done an experiment with watches and got the highest prices on these nights (must be something to do with the lack of good TV and more people are surfing), but I think it might have something to do with the fact that everyone finishes their auctions on the weekend, so all of a sudden you are one among a very large group, whereas sometimes its great to have your own stage without having to compete too much!

I found this world clock, where you can enter your city and then cities that you would like to keep track of. Very handy when you're trying to cover East and West Coast of The States, Western Europe, UK and Asia- Pacific.

Good Luck,

These Halloween bears are looking fantastic, so different - very inspiring.
Mine is on the way, hopefully he'll be making a visit in the next day or so.

Keep them coming I say!

Hi Mary,
Sounds like fun to me! We don't usually get to celebrate Halloween "Down Under" too much, so it will be fun to be involved in festivities of the "spooky" kind.
Now ghouls, ghosts or goblins....so many options for this one!

Now I'm fairly new to this Forum, and although I checked back quite a few pages, I didn't see any pictures like this around. If I'm repeating - I'm sorry, but here is a real cutie!
My sister-in-law thought I might like them, and I thought I'd share them with you!

Although I haven't read Nancy's book, I totally agree with Marion in suggesting Jennifer Laing's Design Book- Teddy Bear Art. I went to one of Jennifer's workshops eons ago at The Teddy Bear Hug and learnt sooooo much, she managed to get all of that information plus more into her book, she absolutely helps you to understand design principals so that you can design a bear that you envision. It saves a lot of test runs with the bonus of understanding what you are doing, not just fluking it!

   I LOVE IT! SO true, the only thing worse than the grocery store is trying to tear away a toddler at the bicycle display at Toys-R-Us (learnt that the hard way!)

I'm soooo jealous of all of gorgeous work spaces, these days I generally do everything from the dining table or lounge chair, which gets packed up after each session- our clothes have been relegated to the laundry and the wardrobe houses mountains of boxes of goodies and stashes of mohair that I just had to have. All of our other rooms and storage areas seem to be filled with fisher price and lego gear these days- but I see a day when the bears will rule the house again, in the not too distant future.

On with the house hunting- now I have a few more check boxes to add to the list,

Hi Bronwen,
Just a quick point of view from an organiser, I absolutely agree with everyone's comments- there are positives and negatives for being in either position.
In planning a floor plan it's a bit like an "impossible puzzle" with no picture to follow, and a lot of work goes into designing it to make sure that the mix is right otherwise visitors aren't happy being "pushed around" and traders don't return because no one can find them.
I cannot speak for all shows (especially mixed craft such as Australia's Stitches) but for the one I plan and most "artist events" there are a few golden rules for layouts- I know what everyone sells and unless a brand spanking new trader, I know what their table layout will be like. So miniaturists don't go side by side (unless they ask to), nor do they go next to huge teds, where they will be overshadowed. Traders with accessories and vintage pieces need to be scattered, not to mention the traders that need to get to the front easily will need access or those who prefer to be behind the table need space behind them.
Traders with backboards generally won't get placed in the first aisle blocking the view of the rest of the show.
Suppliers do need extra space for any crowds that accumulate, but generally there has to be a table across from them, so the artist that gets that one needs to be well known enough to "hold their own"!
International and interstate artists need to be spread out, and it is fairly (dare I say) cruel to place a new trader next to a seasoned pro, who sells out at every event they attend(although its good for the networking and advice- it can be daunting to many to have there precious new bears overlooked because they happened to be next to "such and such") very hard on the ego.
There are always exceptions to the rules, I haven't even mentioned personalities, friendships and histories that are also taken into account- but rest assured the organiser will try and take these into account also.
Even then, when all is said and done, you can turn up on the actual day and the table people have delivered the wrong size tables, so carefully laid out plans get shuffled and jumbled to make the best of it.

So in answer to your question wall or centre: it doesn't really matter- everyone is different, as different as the bears we create and by the end of your first show you will realise what suits you best. All that matters is that you are there smiling and engaging, meeting and greeting! Cliche I know but it works!

Good luck

Oh gotta love the tot putting his bear to bed.

Hi Bronwen,

Yep, that's my boy, although he has a few of my teds around his bedroom, only Cobby will do to keep him company at bedtime- his Dad took a quick picture for the newspaper he works for, for the Fair. His baby brother is amongst a few balloons in the wind down after the Fair (on the website) - both are keeping me on my toes!
