I have an Ebay auction that I listed earlier today and it is still not showing up if I browse through the category or even if I search for it specifically....I have been on to live help and they have given me the usual speil about how it can take 2 - 6 hours for it to index through their system.

What I don't understand is why do other peoples auctions that were listed after mine show when mine doesn't.  Surely they should be indexed in order??

Has anyone else had this problem?? Do I just wait it out or should I end the auction and relist it??

Is it for your little bear Tom because I've seen him in the listings...just earlier I was perusing the new listings and saw him.  He also comes up when I hit your ebay link under your avatar.

Or...is it another bear?

OOOOH I had that problem with my Weasley auction. It took forever ( about six hours)for him to show. Michelle Lamb told me she had a bear that took until the next day to show. Very irritating! bear_angry  I got the same answer from live help and I still had the same question (Why are auctions started after mine showing when mine is not?) I think that Sunday evening is a very popular time to start auctions and so it just gets bogged down (That's my non-technical take on it anyway.) My live helper said it might have taken mine longer since it was more graphically intense than some of the others that showed up before mine. bear_wacko

Well it's been 5 hours now and he's still not showing!!!  bear_cry  bear_cry  bear_cry

Although I can find him when I search (but no one is going to search specifically for him!!)

Sarah, did you "schedule" your listing to start at a specific time or just launch him when you were ready for it to start?  I always "schedule" mine to start at a specific time (cost of 10 cents) because as soon as the time arrives for it to start, it shows up in the listings immediately.   You don't have to wait around for two or three hours for it to show up.

Thanks Brenda I think I'll try that next time...might be worth the 10 cents I think

Tom finally showed up after more than 6 hours!!! A bit frustrating as you don't stay on the first page very long unles you have a featured listing so by the time he was showing he was well into the second page.  bear_noexpression

Hi Sarah,
I know how frustrating it is to sit and wait for you listings, so when I found out about the scheduling, I only choose that method now.  I hope it works for you on  your next listing.

Hi ,Mine do the same, they sometimes take up to 10 hours to show up. I thought it was because I was using a auction template and I always put on so many photo`s. It is very frustrating, I feel sometimes that I loose a whole nights viewing. bear_angry  bear_angry

Thanks everyone...I am definitely going to try Brenda's solution next time and pay 10 cents to schedule my listing.

It has the added bonus of me being able to prepare the auction in advance!!!  bear_grin
