Now you're all going to think I'm mad, but does anyone know if you can purchase bald mohair, or a fabric that looks like the backing of mohair??   Hessian isn't any good, but on a sorta tighter, smaller scale, that's the type of thing I'm after - any ideas??

Some types of linen have a weave like hessian. Would that be what you are looking for?

I made a black skirt from linen - that has that look.
Good luck Clare.

I know at one point Schulte made some bald mohair.  It was in a gold color.  You could check with the factory or call Edinburgh Imports.

I have made a couple of bears from what is called no hair mohair. I bought it from someone on ebay, but I understood it can be purchased at Edinburgh. Is this the stuff you are talking about??
