This is an email I had sent to me - I have forwarded it to lots of people but I thought you may all like to copy and share this with some of your friends.......

In honour of Breast Cancer Month and those who have suffered you have been tagged by an Angel.

In honour of Breast Cancer Month and in memory of Erma Bombeck who lost her fight with cancer

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER
(By Erma Bombeck)

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the GOOD living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up! On a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I wasn’t there for the day.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn’t show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I’d have cherished every moment realizing that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, “Later, now go get washed up for dinner.”

There would have been more “I Love You’s” and more “I’m sorry’s” but mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute ….. Look at it and really see it… live it.  And never give it back.

Here is an angel sent to watch over you.

Gemma: I love that e-mail you received. I too am a cancer survivor and I almost died 11 years ago. I would like to add one more to that list:

I will never go on a diet again!!! Ever!!!!

Why? because most of my life I was pudgey and always dieting and I hated it. When I got breast cancer and than the horrible infection from the surgery, I was on a central line for some time followed by heavey duty antibiotics, well, I could not keep anything down. I dropped to about 100 lbs. Everyday, I was starving and crying because I was so hungry yet nothing stayed down. It was during that time I vowed never again will I restrict food for the sake being a size 6.  I kept that promise. I am happier for it. When I got back to a good weight, I maintained it. So if I want a peice fo cake, I eat it. I just eat in moderation but have never considered dieting since then. I even threw out my scale.

Just my two cents....

Michelle

Thanks Gemma for this. I will pass this on to my sister-in-law who has incurable breast cancer. We are always trying to get her to enjoy what life she has left but she says I can't, I'm ill to everything that we invite her to do.

Hugs Jane.  bear_flower  bear_flower  bear_flower
