Mrs Barnes hopes to start a national campaign asking for the factory to be saved and hopes a benefactor will come forward.

Jeanette Barnes, of Weston-Super-Mare, loves the Ironbridge firm’s bears and says they must be saved at all costs. The 40-year-old, whose collection of about 1,000 bears includes many from Merrythought, is pleading for someone to save the firm and intends to start a petition.

i e-mailed Jeanette to ask to sign the petition.
I do hope that someone will have the money to save Merrythought.

Maybe we should directly write to The Queen. She is rich enough to help!

It's all very sad..I hope she gets what she wants!! Lanie those pictures of Ironbridge are amazing...I love it there!!!

Jeanette barnes sounds like an amazing lady.
Merrythought sure would be something really worth saving...
Jenny Ironbridge is so gorgeous it really gives you the feel good factor visiting there. :dance:
