For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
I've been asked to show some of my earlier work. I used to make a lot of teddy bears in the 90's and then stopped for some reason. Although I still have lots of mohair left somewhere! I used to go under the name "bears by toveb".
This black bear is now owned by my aunt. I had completely forgotten about him when I spotted him on a shelf in her new home. He looks a little dusty...
Next up is Mr Pink, my favourite.
This one is a little more unusual with bent legs and a triangular face. Cardigan knitted by me.
Then there is this one, where I dyed the mohair myself (probably with henna). I think the eyes are a little off, but otherwise his nose is very symmetrical.
Lastly, here is Fluffy. His fur was dyed with turmeric, if I remember correctly. Nose embroidered with golden thread in a heartshape.
Those are really nice bears and they have sweet, winning expressions. I can't wait to see what you'll make today after such a long absence from bearmaking! Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Cute bears...I like Mr Pink Too....
toveb: Your bears are cute. I love the one sitting with the bent legs. I admire people who can knit clothes for their bears. That sweater really is great.
They are great. I especially like the black one. I'm going through a black and white stage at the moment
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do now, that you have taken up bear making again.
Welcome back
