I have a big Clunky 17" old monitor,  I'd certainly love one of the new LCD monitors though.

I received an LCD flat screen monitor from my husband for Christmas and I just love it . It is an approx 19 inch screen and the maker is LG. My son who is a computer expert researched them and this is one of the better models. Good luck

I've got a Samsung LCD flat screen and I love it!  Takes up way less space and has a better picture by far.  Especially for someone like me who does a lot of photo editing and image creation/graphic design work and website design, it's absolutely worth the extra money to have great picture quality and a big screen.

Oops, sorry; no face rubbing intended!  I'm just totally in love with this thing, mostly because I can finally write somewhere while I'm at the computer that's NOT my lap!  I had absolutely no space on my computer table with my ginormous monitor before, so this really frees up space.  And truly, the brightness and contrast controls are much better.  At least compared to MY old monitor.  Which, by the way, we still use on the "other" computer.  Everyone would rather use this one, though.  But they can't because I "work" here and that excuse works every time!

Bwaa haa haa haa... <evil laughter>... :)

Still have not heard a word from the GT people and if this turns out to be some extremely kind-hearted and well-intended misunderstanding I will be comppletely mortified that it played out so publicly.  Eek!  Remember, all I've said so far is "thank you but it's still just a lovely dream until I hear officially."  I assume NOTHING.  Just waiting to hear (or not) like everyone else!

I figure more than Judi here at TT will probably get nominations, however, so it's quite possible they simply went home for the day and will resume calling tomorrow.  Or, at least, I hope that's the case.  Would still love to get a nomination this year, despite having only entered the one piece into just two contests.  A nomination or prize doesn't define me, but it sure does make me beam!

LOL Shelli, when we got the new computer mid last year, we kept the other one. No-one used it, so it's packed up, and the computer table can now be used for crafts!   bear_grin

LCD - wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better!

HI Sandy

I have a Benq 19" flat screen and there is no way you'd ever get me back to the old clumker.......all that extra space and much better having it sitting further back for your eyes .......I don't seem to get half as tired as I used to.

LCD any day. I have a 19 inch flat screen monitor and I wouldn't change it for the world. My eyes do not tire like they used to with the CRT screen that I had at first.

Hi

I use a Sony VAIO 17 inch Flat screen, HD, Blu Ray, absolutely fantastic, this is my second one picture quality is superb, you can't fault it.  I would certainly recommend Sony to anyone.

Good luck with your search I don't envy you, its a nightmare finding the right one there's so much choice out there.

Sony 19" flat screen here ... boy is it better than the heavy old CRT I used to have!  My office space is tiny, so changing the screen has made a world of difference ... I can actually use my desk now! bear_tongue

Thanks girls and Shane,

It looks like most of you have an LCD screen of some sort and those that haven't wished they had and look forward to upgrading. It's good to come here and get some straight answers!!!

I like to learn from other people's experiences when I can, rather than listen to fast talkin' sales people.

The advice is greatly appreciated.

P.S. Shelli please check your email!

I have the Samsung flatscreen 19" and wouldn't have anything else now. We liked it so much we bought another one for the other PC  bear_original Best place to buy is off the Internet much cheaper - try this site www.pricepoint.com.au
The only down side to them is that you have to set the display resolution to the same as the LCD which is usually 1280x1024 but there are many pluses for these screens  bear_original

Sandi, I love LCD screens, I am spoilt as I have both LCD and Laptop at work and had to have the same at home.  We have Dell and Benq brands.

Hi Sandi,

I have a flat screen Apple LCD which is so wonderful - as the other have said it takes up so little space and leaves more
room on the desk.
