We took Anubis to the vet this morning so she would have surgery.
We stayed there until she was asleep: that's wierd: she kept her eyes opened when asleep  bear_wacko  bear_wacko  bear_wacko ...

Then we let the vet do his job and came back in the afternoon to take her back home.
All went perfectly well. She is now neutered and tatooed in the ear.

The poor wee kitty is okay but totally stoned. Just looking at her eyes it is visible!!!
Well, that's because of the drugs the vet gave her. She will be better tomorrow.
They put on her something like a sock and there are holes just for her head, tail and legs. That way she cannot move easily. She will have to keep it for 4-5 days. this will help her healing.

As the kitty was not home today, Malko and I decided to do some tidying so we had a busy day.

No time yet for sewing!!!  bear_sad  Oh well, we cannot be doing everything at the same time, can we?

Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Poor kitty. I hope she won't be in pain when the drugs wear off. That can be so hard to tell with cats. You did the right thing for everybodies piece of mind.

Big hugs

Well done, Sophie! Anubis will be much better tomorrow, and in a few days won't remember anything of it......and you won't have any more disturbed nights, and best of all, there won't be more kittens looking for homes - there are FAR too many of them these days!

Hi Sophie,

Kitty will be feeling much better tomorrow. The sock also keeps her from tugging at her stitches.

I'm glad you went ahead with this.... it will provide for many peaceful years of coexistence.

Hugs,

bear_original Anubis will be back to normal tomorrow and dogs and cats do heal quite quickly from that type of operation. When one of my dogs was desexed she was bouncing around all over the place about an hour after I brought her home! I kept trying to remind her that she had just had an operation and to stay calm - would not listen  bear_rolleyes  I could see myself having to go back to the vet's and have the stitches re-done. Everything work out fine in the end, thank goodness!

LOL .............that is what happened to my Westie Tiffani, I could not keep her calm! Try keeping a terrier puppy calm
Anyway a few days later I noticed a bump where the stitches were! Took her back to vet, they said she had pulled her inside stitches out, so they had to put her back to sleep and restitch her! grrrrrrrrrrr
I was angry and very scared at the same time. But everything worked out!  bear_original

bear_wub Anubis will really be much, much happier now she's had her surgery. Good for you!!   I know how scary it can be, but they really do heal quickly and live much happier lives being spayed and neutered.

Mister, our outside kitty was like that last May.  We had him neutered and the drugs hit him SOOOO hard  bear_wacko  He was still 'circling the moon' when I brought him home.  Had to keep him in the garage in a large carrier overnight.  And would you believe, in the morning when I let him out, he gave this huge yawn and stretch, and hardly felt anything was different!  I think within a day he was totally back to normal.

Thanks for your comforting replies, dear friends.
This morning Anubis looks much better eventhough she does not like this sock that makes her move harder.  bear_tongue

She decided to spend the whole night on our bed, what she gad not done for a while!

Beary hugs,
Sophie.
